My predictions. I'm reasonably certain Biden is going to grab the Clinton states + Michigan and Wisconsin. The remaining states I put in blue are more or less in the order of likeliness Nebraska's 2nd district > Pennsylvania > Arizona > North Carolina > Maine's 2nd district > Georgia (I think Georgia has the potential to be the biggest surprise of this election). For the red swing states the order of likeliness is Ohio > Iowa > Texas > Florida. I believe Florida will be very close, but it might be one of the only states where Trump's bizarre claim of communism actually works.

dont think mine is a novel belief, but i think arnold and the rock are the two people in the country who genuinely do believe in a moderate liberal (gay marriage abortion etc) but with generalized pro-america (respect for the troops, togetherness, and a nonspecific patriotism) social policy with a moderately fiscally conservative economic policy. either would win 350 electoral votes.

Probably the most hopeful part of tomorrow and the next few days is the part where even people who say they are not "hopeful / optimistic" still put Biden at 270+ needed to win. The next month might be rough in some ways, but things will eventually probably work out.

Request to change brackets in title to [The TRUMPening].

It's not all in yet, but Trump is crushing his 2016 numbers in Florida. Maine is also trending his way, but it's so rural it could be a while. Portland is sitting on Biden w/ a 3000 vote advantage. It also seems like Rhode Island is legit going Trump. The map is creeping redder and redder as the rural votes get counted.

This was either going to be a media driven Covid disinfo election or an economy reopening election. If a state with a huge portion of the Covid vulnerable population is going bigger for Trump than in 2016, this election is already over but for the counting.

My only hope, probably unrealized, is Trump also wins the popular vote so Democrats can finally, finally reflect on the madness I said was overtaking them and would not stop a long four years ago. Trump is currently ahead, but California isn't counted yet and that will flip it entirely if its percentages look like New York.

People don't want woke, they don't want riots, and they don't want to stay in hiding until government says it's safe. American bullshit detection and can-do attitude is the GOAT!

They way it stands right now, I'm rapidly losing faith in humanity. This was the time to finally put us back in the right, to a nation that loves our neighbors and cares for the least. And by the looks of things, we whiffed it.

EDIT: And which values truth and reality over lies and gaslighting.

EDIT 2: And which cares for the future.

.... you guys realize Biden has a nearly 100 electoral lead backed by millions of incoming mail in votes. Right? Like, things aren't a blowout but they're still looking way better than in 2016.

We won't get a result tonight but the mail in vote trickle could flip several states blue. As of me typing this Biden only needs 57 more electorals to win.

Edit: Haha Biden won.

the leadership of our nation has never given a shit about any of these things, certainly not for as long as you or I have been alive

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change

this isn't even a comprehensive list. The related article about the CIA is especially of interest if you wanna dive into the rabbit hole

e: it also doesn't care about the stuff you're editing in.

Regime change isn't necessarily evil. Your own list includes Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.

How dare we!

I was referring to our treatment of minorities and the environment. Which are things the liberals have helped advance. Unlike the fearmongering and vote suppression parts of the GOP have been doing.

(note for reference, if needed: I'm not liberal; I'm socialist.)

if the neoliberals cared about these things they would have ran on these policies and we wouldn't be having this discussion because Biden wouldn't be losing (or we'd have a candidate that actually cares about these things who would also not be losing). Socialist policies are incredibly popular in the United States when removed from the labels of socialism/communism (an exit poll shows 39% of americans strongly favor Government funded health plans, 33% somewhat favor--and this was run by Fox fucking News so you know they tried to make it as bad as possible).

instead they refused to do things like ban fracking, reduce the military budget (the military is the #1 contributor to greenhouse gases on top of you know, being the military), defund or abolish the police while black people continue to get murdered in the streets. Hell, the VP is a self-described super cop (who has never prosecuted a cop)

They are owned by corporations and the oligarchy, just like the GOP. But the Dems in America are designated losers. Their entire identity is built around being the underdog fighting for the right thing but they just can't get anything meaningful done because the big bad GOP just won't let them, so instead we have to settle for scraps. That's why when they have the presidency and congress they don't do shit, because they don't actually stand for any of the things they stand for. It's a big club, and we ain't in it.

You want a bright future? You don't want to be gaslit? Then question the intent of these people who claim to be on your side when they do and say things that are against their stated goals. Ask why they did everything in their power to stop Bernie Sanders in the primaries yet can't beat Donald fucking Trump (twice, TWICE).

The silver lining here is that the exit polls shows Sanders' ideas won. Not now because both candidates are shit. But they have 60-70% popularity among all voting Americans. And with the dumbass corporate Democrats losing yet again, maybe we will now have the power to take what is rightfully ours.

Have you been paying any attention? Health care was already partly done; what we need is for the GOP to stop trying to destroy it. And non-GOP are the ones whose policies actually address this.

Given the rise of autocrats and the need to defend ourselves against them, not reducing the military is fine by me. Transportation is the #1 source, followed very closely by electricity. No banning on fracking? Fine, but at least liberals and socialists aren't the ones pulling back environmental protections, withdrawing from climate treaties, and the like. Speaking of climate treaties, Biden DID run on that platform... As for the police thing: well, guess where that's happening, at all? Cities. Guess which party they often favor: liberal.

First, it's very rare for them to have all three. Second, the filibuster. And even if I accepted they don't stand for that (I don't, but for the sake of argument), then it's better than actively going against what you claim to support. The GOP is nothing but a twisted parody of what they once were.

How about how the Orange Idiot regularly lies, basically every waking hour? And how he presents false realities? Liberals aren't the ones who invented the "FAKE NEWS" gaslighting. As for Sanders: the first time, I blame Hillary. This time, it was a fair competition between him and Biden.

Can we all agree:
-It wasn’t Russia
-It wasn’t James Covey
-It wasn’t Bernie and AOC not doing enough as they groveled
-It wasn’t the Green Party and no one even knows the name of the candidate
-We don’t lay the blame on Black People, or other PoC or Young People
-It wasn’t because Joe Biden was a woman because he isn’t
-It wasn’t because of racism as Trump once again relying on states Obama won twice

For once can we agree that if the Dem’s lose it’s their own damn fault?

I guess if you’re a big fan of voter suppression, intimidation, and the shitshow of the electoral college where joe once again is going to win the popular vote then sure

you right wingers just ignore reality. Same people who mock the “tolerant left”. No we just aren’t tolerant of fascists and white supremacy sympathizers

edit: I also forgot to mention the Wisconsin court ruling that invalidates mail ins if they arrive after the election even if postmarked and sent before. Or any of the countless bullshit
