1v1 OMs have been important to 1v1 and players, dating back to when we first created a groupchat for ourselves. Some will always be the same, like 1v1 AG, others are always changing, like 1v1 UU. The OMs provide a nice change of pace for anyone who wants to try something new in 1v1. This thread will be entirely dedicated to these OMs. Here you will find resources for the various OMs, and you'll be able to discuss strategies, post sample teams, and do anything else relating to OMs

Inverse 1v1

In Inverse 1v1, the type chart is completely inverted. That means Water-type attacks will be Super Effective against Grass types, but Fire types will resist Water type attacks. This also means that the Normal typing (which is normally not Super Effective against anything) now hits everything for at least neutral making it an amazing offensive type.

Anything Goes 1v1

Anything Goes 1v1 is literally 1v1 with an Anything Goes ruleset. That means any Pokémon is allowed, you can have more than one of the same Pokémon, and in general there aren't any banned items or strategies. This isn't hackmons! so you still have to abide by set legality.

In Monotype 1v1 you are limited to having all Pokémon on your team share a type. That means you can use a team like Heatran, Charizard and Blaziken. But not Blaziken, Charizard and Swampert. Keep in mind that both pre-mega and post-mega typing is considered, so you cannot use a Mega Gyarados on Flying teams, and you cannot use a Mega Altaria on Fairy teams.

STABmons 1v1 is an 1v1 OM based on the Other Metagame of the same name. In this metagame, Pokémon don't just learn their natural moveset, but can also get every move that has one of the Pokémon's types. That means that Dragonite can use Dragon Ascent, and Gigalith can learn Diamond Storm.

AAA 1v1 (Almost Any Ability 1v1) is a metagame where any Pokémon can have (almost) any ability. This completely changes the way the game is played because you can come to face a Lightning Rod Gyarados, which then surprisingly gets defeated by Mold Breaker Zeraora. The possibilities are endless!

Okay I'm done posting the OMs that I could think of and that I happened to have some stuff written down for, I just gave myself temporary management over almost all of them because the people who once managed them have almost all quit.

Some of these banlists haven't had work done to them in literally years, so these OMs could really do with some fresh leadership. The ones that really need someone to take a look at them are AAA 1v1 and STABmons 1v1.

I'll personally be taking leadership over Inverse 1v1 and Monotype 1v1 (I actually already had leadership over both), and I'm dropping my years-old AG 1v1 leadership.

Ban Reasoning
Arceus (Quickban, 6/3/19): Arceus is the concept of Mega Charizard on steroids. 18 variants of different sets, none of which you can tell on Team Preview, all capable of holding a Z move, access to the best setup and recovery options in the game, unparalleled coverage, paired with 120/120/120 bulk, which is legendary even in Ubers.

Lunala (Banned 6/24/19): Lunala's ability Shadow Shield proved too much for the metagame, able to live every single attack and fire back with a 200 base power nearly unresisted Z move, alongside access to recovery and setup. Its only true viable answer was Yveltal, which takes neutral damage from Focus Blast.

I am currently allowing both Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Rayquaza. Mega Kangaskhan, while indeed formidable, has yet to really prove itself as an overcentralizing force in the metagame, and can be beaten easily with Fighting-type coverage or overwhelming offense, which isn't that hard to find in the Ubers metagame. Mega Rayquaza, while certainly a scary offensive threat, is really just that, a big dumb beatstick, with little time to set up its offensive stats in a 1v1 setting, and thus may prove to have a place in the 1v1 Ubers metagame.

Ayyy STAB 1v1.

Landorus-T is clearly one of the best Pokemon here, spammable dascent and being able to use Groundium and Flyinium to great effect. Gets Shore Up to be more of a wall. Great Pokemon.

Charizards are amazing here as well, Charx gets Tough Claws V-Create and Dragon Ascent for coverage, Zard Y gets Oblivion to recovery HP to improve matchups like Zygod (which is OP now with Shore Up), Blue Flare is a massive powerhouse with no drawbacks.

Also LC 1v1 would be an interesting metagame.

1. Roomtours for any of these can and will be made if requested. The official tour schedule has Monotype and UU on Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat. If any OMs rise in popularity they can be included in the official tour circuit as well
2. Posting OMs isn't limited to me, if someone wants to start up LC 1v1 then by all means go for it

Your mono normal struggles heavily with Metagross but like.. that's a problem Mono normal will always have regardless of how hard you try to beat it (Unless you want to run Counter Exploud or Scarf Pyroar). Other than that you're looking pretty solid on that team. Mono steel is a good one, I prefer Magearna on every steel team ever but it's not mandatory and I don't see immediate problems with your team (it's possible it struggles against some type nobody uses like Electric. I haven't checked).
Mono Psychic gets bodied by Aegislash which is one of the best mons on Steel, and Steel is one of the best types in mono 1v1, so you might want to reconsider one of your picks (Meloetta is good on Psychic for this reason)

The 1v1 banlist is followed here, meaning bans in the 1v1 room will apply to Type Challenge banlists. Pokémon with Mega Evolutions or form changes that also change their type are not allowed in their respective types, as per the rules in Monotype. For example, Gyarados-Mega is not permitted in Dark/Flying, while Lopunny-Mega may not be used in Fighting, or Meloetta-Pirouette in Psychic/Fighting.

I wasn't exactly for the ban, but it beat pretty much everything. What it didn't outright beat with Waterium-Z, it could Yawn-Protect and hope for a good roll. The only guaranteed counters were Omastar, Rampardos, and Cradily; and only certain sets of those.
