Come on AVB we need you to play Sturridge in the centre;we can't rely on Luiz to get forward and score 2 wonder goals AND help keep a clean sheet vs Napoli......

Not sure about Podolski, but I would love to add Gotze and Hazard to our one man striking force! No but seriously, Arsene needs to focus more on his midfield and even a bit on defense during the summer.

Idk about Gotze but i still think that Hazard will either join us or Spurs over Arsenal.

So I'm new.

Anyways Podolski is much more experienced than Gotze/Hazard and he is single handily keeping Koln in the Bundeliga and making sure they don't get relegated. He has scored 15 goals for a midtable team like Koln which shows he can create on his own.I watch Bundesliga every weekend and can tell you he will be a great signing.Capable of playing on the wings and down the middle.

Going through the England team and being filled with optimism for a bright future and then going BARRY?!

honestly though, that looked pretty bad

and ROFL STURRIDGE

chelsea should play luiz - cahill up front

and now they tie, shame netherlands dont win the game due to bullshit refs

edit:
ahahahaha FUCK WHAT A GAME
ROBBEN YOU SICK FUCKER WHAT A SICK GOAL

took a deflection.
i still have no idea what pierce was doing. why was sturridge on the wing and young in the centre? why move the winger to centre and put a striker on the wing?
and replace a defender with a defender.. then put him in mid as well? confused...

where did 4 minutes of added time come from? long injury delay and it is only 4?

and sheffield wednesday do a huddersfield... and sack thier manager for no reason anyone can understand

Uh...maybe coz that's what our stupid manager is doing?

not totally convinced by Podolski. Not much use in build up play, and is much more suited to counter attacking football. Also struggles a bit when with top flight players.

He was good for Germany because Germany often played counter attacking football with a deep line, one look at the world cup tells you everything. But nowadays, people actually respect Germany again so they aren't stupid enough to attack them anymore, which means Germany actually has to try and break down teams, aka less reactive playstyle. Result: Podolski has 1 goal in 8 caps for Germany in 2011.

I also looked at his international goals, and I was surprised at how few goals he scored against top nations. 1 goal in 2004 against Brazil and 1 against England in the last world cup is about it, depending on how you classify Sweden, Ivory Coast, and Croatia.

same thing at club level. He excels for Koln, a mid table side that is much less likely to adopt an attacking playstyle. But at a big club like Bayern, he struggled. Granted he was young at the time and possibly made a mistake by moving too early, but it isn't exactly an isolated incident really.

My thoughts exactly. I felt they were both doing a great job in a very competitive league this year. I don't see who would be better to replace them with really (or are Sheff Wed hoping to sign Lee Clark? =| )

Ah well. All the better for Carlisle once/If we reach the playoffs I guess.

I don't think England got 'shown' anything. We fielded a young team with very few established stars and put in a brave performance against one of the best teams in the world. I know it's just a friendly but it's the first match in a long time where I've been proud of us at the end.

Thought it was a decent performance, not really sure anyone believed England were on the level of Holland,Spain and Germany beforehand to start with.

Didn't help that they managed to catch Robben on good form, a player that if he could stay fit would be held in the same regard as Messi and Ronaldo.

i actually thought we did pretty well considering how average most of our players were, especially at international level.

anyone know how smallings coming along? that clash was brutal
