I'm about to kill myself for dropping Dzagoev and Blaswhateverkowski last night.

Thank god I kept Lewandowski, and still have Ribery, Ozil, and Sneijder to get points. Few better to put my hopes on than this bunch.
 
Can anyone see anything happening besides Holland and Germany victories tonight? Was thinking of having a bet, a cheeky tenner on the double brings back £35...

Assuming it all goes right then it's guaranteed, though I could see Denmark possibly sneaking a goal with Holland's defence. Germany should be a cert though, Portugal are dead in the water these days.
 
Wouldn't write off either Portugal or Denmark...they're definitely underdogs but they'll be relishing that role and know that defeat in their opening games will likely seal their fate. They'll be treating tonights games like finals. Could see the Danes sneaking something.

I'm supporting Croatia, but unless they pull something dramatic out of the bag they are going home at the end of the group stages.

nooberlands look shaky at the back. Van Persie seems a different player to the premier league player of the year we're used to. What is going on?
Still backing Germany for the tournament.
 
Wasnt a surprise for me, looking from the friendlies they had :P
Van Persie sucked during the last WC as well, why van Marwijk insists on heeping him in is beyond me.
Only positive thing is that likely Ill be able to get rid of all the orange flags making tons of noise outside my house in a week and a half :P

fuck fifa/uefa for being a bunch of ignorant prics and not wanting to use cameras already, could have gotten us two penalties

though i guess making infinitely more chances doesn't matter if you miss them all and they get one chance and have a lucky strike and score
 
Van Persie was fine Robben on the other hand should have been off at half time so selfish. Portugal going to get mauled without Ozil and Benzema to carry Ronaldo around.

yeah honestly, i can see a lot of people blaming this on the lack of penalties but when you screw up so many attempts at the goal...

random outside of the box shooting with terrible angles make at least 3/4ths of those shots off-goal for holland.

it wasnt luck, denmark played well, and it was a great finish on their goal.
 
yeah mekkah i agree they should simply have scored but that still makes the lack of penalties unfair doesn't it? just because they missed chances doesn't mean they didn't deserve the penalties which could have gotten 3 points

also netherlands played better than denmark, though im always bs'ed when thinking which team played better but okay, im pretty sure denmark didnt really do anything notable besides having one good chance and then scoring it? also most shots were barely off-goal and i think a ball on the post is pretty lucky as well, a lot of the shots almost got in and van persie / huntelaar both missing from so close were also huge chances

edit: also 22 + 5 =/= 32 and 4 + 1 =/= 8 but okay

I don't know what match you were watching but since you weren't watching the Holland Denmark match I should let you know that Van Persie scuffed every single shot he had and Robben wasted half of his chances by looking for a final pass when he should have been shooting.

BBC offer decent coverage if you would like to watch the matches before commenting in future.
