2011 NCAA Football Thread

Just a hunch but maybe TCU is regretting their hasty move to the Big East? Even if A&M leaves the Big 12, Texas/Oklahoma/OKST/Texas Tech are still big draws, and it's a lot easier to compete when the farthest school from you geographically is Kansas iirc, instead of UConn.

I feel like A&M is going to cause a huge domino chain in both football and basketball. If they go to the SEC like everyone knows they will, that gives them 7 in the already crowded west and 6 in the weak east. SO, who do you think will be the 14th team? Or, even more outlandish but not so crazy, 14-16? My money is on Texas Tech or maybe even FSU? FSU could crush the weaker SEC East year after year, easily getting to the SEC title game/BCS bids.
Lol wut? They still can't run their own table in the ACC, which is just as bad a conference as the Big East.

Considering that FSU can't even beat Florida on a regular basis, it's safe to say that you have no clue what you're talking about. FSU hasn't been ACC champions since 2005, and haven't won a BCS bowl since 2000. Yep, they're really going to be running over the SEC guys!!

Also, lol ACC.

Baylor 50 TCU 48...Baylor quarterback with 5 TD 0 INT. Ladies and gentlemen, good for the first time in their history!!!!

(when Texas sucks this year it is going to be even more embarrassing than ever aughh)

I'm still surprised Baylor survived the TCU comeback.

Robert Griffin III is legit, but considering I think its something like TCU has 5 returning starters from last year on offense and defense combined, I wouldn't put a lot of stock in it. It's hard for programs like TCU to reload after so many seniors leaving.

No idea why they were ranked so high in the poll...

I put stock in it. Even though Baylor has done better in recent years, they have never been the sort of team that has had 50 point games in them, or beating good teams in them. It certainly is not guaranteed to make them a 9-3 or better team, but it is meaningful.

Watching Auburn and Utah State. Praying that Auburn can't comeback.
And that really sucks for Boise State, a win over an undefeated TCU team would definetely help their case for the National Championship.

LSU looked really good, they didn't even need to do a fake field goal, or an end around on 4th and 1 to win. Although, the game would've been close if Oregon didn't have so many turnovers.

And Boise State was outstanding, especially Kellen Moore. 5 pass attempts hit the ground. He ought to be drafted pretty early.

Actually, I had heard the teams the SEC would "buzz" about if A&M joins is Missouri and Virginia Tech. The thing about FSU, or even Clemson, is that Florida and South Carolina won't "let" a big team from their state join their conference. Though I don't see how that will stop the SEC if they wanted to.

I have read that if The Big 12 falls apart, Texas and Oklahoma will possibly go to the PAC-12.

The SEC will pursue those schools over Florida and Clemson for the simple fact that it gives them a much larger fan-base in states that aren't already covered. Missouri gives them a hold on much of the state, as does Virginia Tech. A&M taps into a very large fan-base (albeit not as massive as say Florida or Texas) in a state that was once locked down by the Big 12 (though really, a top tier school can take whoever they want).

FSU and Clemson essentially double down on a market that is already there. Clemson is arguably the better deal, as it is followed more more than South Carolina, but FSU doubles down the Florida market which is much richer than South Carolina. Florida or USC stopping them doesn't really impact the decision very much, as the other SEC schools will just override them.

And I doubt that Texas will go to the PAC-12. They'll go independent before giving up the Longhorn network. OU I could see going to the PAC-12 over the SEC though.

Stupid fucking Auburn. How do they get these giant runs and wide open receivers even against good teams? Even with that win, they will still probably lose 6 games.

Shipley 2.0 (one ridiculous catch) and McCoy 2.0 (solid when Garrett was weak) win the game....WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOK 'EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Wonderful, now Florida is going to go have to go to South Carolina and win if they want to represent the East in Atlanta.

And did you guys see that Notre Dame and Michigan game? Too much amazingness in 2 mins.

And CK, is McCoy Colt's younger brother or something?

Case McCoy and Jaxon Shipley are Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley's brothers.

Tech looked awesome today, already regretting not getting tickets this year and the good games are all later in the season.
