2012/2013 Soccer/Football thread

Rodgers wants to add another Winger and a CB (or two if Skrtel leaves) and I hear a GK as well. The money is there for our targets so we don't NEED to sell. Personally I'd happily keep Carroll and use him to have that one more Striker, but if an offer that big came in then I would definitely sell. I do very much doubt that an offer that big will come from West Ham, or any other club for that matter.
If he doesn't sell, he'll get only 20 million pounds. And if he wants to buy a cb, a goalie, and a winger, that's not enough. Of course, we only need a squad cb, since a defence with Kelly and Agger looks pretty good. Out of those three, the only position he should spend big money on is goalkeeper. Two young cbs coming for 2m, a goalie for 15m, and a young DM for 3m would be great, in my opinion.
Also, how much do you think will be offered for Skrtel?

pleased with our victory. Ramsey still makes my eyes bleed at moments.. but it was a good win.

Per showed why he can't let people get passed him, slow as shit.

as soon as i saw this i knew we wouldn't win

We have to be realistic. This year, the goal was to improve from last year. Table wise, we're doing OK. Silverware wise, not so much. But there are a lot of things that can't be classified as either. For example, we've had quite a few young players who had proved their worth. Sterling, for example, is one of England's most wanted young players. The fact that our academy and scouts can be consistently relied upon for quality young players will be really important when FFP kicks in. The success rate of transfers also needs to be taken into account. Up to now, 2.5/4 (Borini is .5, since he hasn't played much due to injury) of our transfers have been successful. There's also the matter of making crap Dalglish bought useful. Henderson turned out to be a really good player, and Downing is at least getting some assists and not being complete rubbish.
The future looks bright. We just have to be patient.
(also imagine sterling, coutinho, shelvey, suso, henderson, and suso together as 25 year olds)

Huge night on Friday, missed the weekend's matches. Watching Motd2 last night, Cisse's strike looked unreal for the atmosphere. And he always looks like a genuinely nice guy in all his interviews. Going to celebrate with the fans and giving his shirt to a kid at the end just sums it up. Hernandez too last week when Cech made that save and he was laughing and went up to congratulate him afterwards. There's some players who work hard all the time for the team even if they're not on form or not being picked and they still look like they just wanna enjoy it and I really admire them for that.

Also I can't wait for the Spurs vs Chelsea game, not wanting to sound cocky or anything but one of them is getting 5th after that game ^^) :P

i could definitely see that happening, bolton are the only team between 5th and 10th in genuinely good form that i can think of (i think forest are actually top of the form table in fifth but they scraped draws in their last 3 games so i'm not sure if they count as truly in form)

of those i think Middlesbrough have the hardest run in, bolton, brighton and forest coming up soon when they already have the worst form in the league. then again leicester have bolton, forest and watford coming up soon so they're gonna have just as much fun!

my predictions are for the playoffs to end up as hull/palace/forest/brighton with cardiff and watford going up automatically but i could definitely see bolton replacing palace, forest or brighton because none of the three are playing that well (except forest who i may just not be giving credit to!)

So Sellouts + Hull/Udinese Bs are coming up (ino ino i should support Cardiff and I do but they're still sellouts!). Any chance of a late charge from Leicester? Those last 2 spots in the playoffs could really be anybody's. Any chance of someone completely random like Millwall sneaking in out of nowhere? There's always a surprise right?

Also I think in the PL Villa and Wigan are too good to be going down. There's defo gonna be a surprise drop (I guess Villa going down would have been a huge surprise in itself). Stoke, Norwich and especially Sunderland are not looking good right now. I think Newcastle still aren't out of it with their injuries. They have got to thank Reading and QPR for being so unbelievably shit and padding out the bottom 2 for them, QPR especially because I think most ppl was expecting them to be midtable.

Gala 3-1 Real Madrid right now. 20 minutes to go, and we gotta score 2 more.

I'm hoping for a miracle now.

EDIT: And it's 3-2. gg

wow.

damn dortmund was offside on that last goal... tbf though malaga fans cant complain too much given they were marginally offside on the second as well... damn what a finish though
