2012/2013 Soccer/Football thread

It was by no means an even game lol, the only attack you had from the 70th minute on was right after we made it 2-1. I love this type of arguing so much: "Hmm, we just got a controversial decision go against us, let's completely breakdown and blame the entire game on the ref". Seen it too many times (*cough* Germany vs England *cough*)

And you had only one real chance which was Podolski between 70th minute and penalty too. You weren't breaking us down and we did have some attacks on counter as you were putting people forward. And we had two wrong decisions against us.

Decisions do change games most of the time, you would be an idiot not to accept that.

Decisions can affect games, but it doesn't give any team the right to play like absolute shit afterwards and blame the entire game on the ref. Lol at 2-1 even if we didn't score we would have just held out, so yes Walcott was offside but the goal wasn't even necessary.

Oh good. A random Chelsea fan with some insight on this issue.

3rd place feels good right now. Won't last. But still a wild thing to see.

It's always nice when the tables are turned and we aren't the ones getting fucked over by refs and dumb calls. For now.

Just like a goal at 1-0 to losing team isn't necessary as you always were going to win. Your logic is impeccable.

Lol I simply don't get what you're trying to say. Are you telling me that given the scoreline was 2-1, Norwich still had a shot? They did nothing after 2-1, after 1-1 even. Btw thanks for ignoring my point about decisions affecting games.

The best part about all this is if the game was called correctly and cleanly.. then it would be 1-0 to Arsenal at FT.

3pts taken, next discussion.

Huge result yesterday, didn't watch the game, Arsenal always do well when I don't watch them! Above Spuds and into the top 4, unreal!

Huge result for Sunderland today, unbelievable. Krul out for season. Newcastle just need to grind out a few draws and hope they can get a win before the season is out!

Also Bolton into the play-offs, unbelievable!

i used to like newcastle but now i want them to go down because of their cunt of a manager celebrating in front of the opposition bench. not the first time he's done that. his staff is also like him, especially john carver.

that was when cisse scored the disallowed goal:

meanwhile, di canio celebrates with his staff and players, actually running in the opposite direction of the newcastle bench. speaking of di canio's celebrations, they were pretty hilarious to say the least

EDIT: here's di canio celebrating after sunderland scored one of their goals lmao

Fuck you Aguero you pig, deserved to be sent off and not even a card.

Edit: missed penalty...

aguero should definitely have gotten a red card

regarding the penalty, torres has a case but chris foy couldn't give it because he could never have seen the foul from his position. linesman could have been useful there i guess

great match overall.

Oh well atleast we tried...... Chelsea's second half performance showed that Benitez should start playing Ba and Torres together in 4-2-2-2 or 4-1-3-2 formation from now on. Ba is more accustomed to playing with a partner upfront and the only thing that the Torres of today does better than the Torres of yesterday is support, create and assist. His finishing is nothing compared to what it used to be at Atletico and Liverpool though, and having someone to shoulder the goalscoring responsibility would help take some pressure off him and improve his performance.

I was at Wembley to see the Chelsea vs Man City game :/

Honestly, I feel like crap. Our defence was in shambles, with Petr Cech saving us from numerous chances, and our attack was lacklustre. I think we had one shot on target (excluding Ba's goal) for the whole match, and that shot was a fluky one. We kept on dilly-dallying with our chances, and passed one too many. It looked like we were scared to tackle, and scared to shoot. Ba's goal was amazing, and then from there we perked up a bit, but yeah, we still can't shoot. Mikel's passing was all over the place, and Hazard, Oscar and Mata were all under-par. I was pissed off with a lot of the referee's decisions, but then again right now I'm pissed off with everything in the match.

Kudos to Man City who had a brilliant first half, was excellent both in defending and counter-attacking, had great link-ups in the box and were unlucky not to win by more goals.

(Although I am grateful that I had the chance to go see the match ^_^)

Chelsea were probably a wee bit tired from their match on Thursday, but even then Man City just played better in general. I do agree that Torres and Ba should play together up top, although it seemed like Torres was out playing wide to the left which isn't very effective lol, Hazard should be there. And yeah City did get pretty lucky with Aguero's challenge lol

Massive night for Cardiff!!! Will most likely go down next season cos it has been all about the defence and they won't be keeping PL teams out anytime soon. But the man at the top has a lot of spare cash to splash so who knows...

They'll need to spend carefully on a select few top talents if they wanna compete imo: a good midfielder, winger, striker, and maybe an experienced PL veteran (Phil Neville?) I reckon. What they can't do is spend a lot on a lot of players like QPR and end up with a new squad completely. The defence has been together a while so I think they're fine, maybe an experienced head in there if they have the cash to spare. Someone like Ryan Nelson if such players are still around - a player the team will respect and take advice from and rally around in a game, a player that can help steady the nerves in the defence when Aguero, Suarez or Van Persie is running at them. Might go to a game or two if I'm visiting Cardiff, can't wait!

Also why did I watch the Everton game, bore draw, should have known. Arsenal games are always crap when I tune in! >:-(

NLI you're the reason why we haven't won the league since 2004.
