Last half decade or so we always lose against teams above us, Chelsea especially, and Utd and even City. What Fergie and Chelsea always used to do was sit deep and let Arsenal have the ball and then hit on the counter. Rogers' Liverpool reminds me of Arsenal a few years ago, the only way was to pass and it looks very pretty but a team sitting deep will soak it up all day long and try to hit them on a set piece.

I think Wenger has changed the style very slightly so that now he's prepared to sit back too and hit others on the counter, as well as use long balls. Look at the Marseille game, Arsenal just sat back and didn't try too hard to attack. They were patient and just waited until the breakthrough came. It was very calm and mature, it reminds me of Man Utd through the years, not playing great but somehow still gets the win from one moment of magic - that's all you need. I'm seeing a lot more long balls now too (relatively), maybe because Giroud has become a better target man.

yep and now shola ameobi has the best penalty record % in competitive games. 9 from 9 and i am hoping he starts next week

fellaini is just a taller tom cleverley. neither can create chances and it just puts even more pressure on carrick

Fellaini is Defencive Mid,
wasn't his fault, at least he and Rooney actually tried.
Smalling was complete shite and cost us the goals.
Fellaini creates chances, just need to get the ball on his head at set pieces.

it always brightens my day when man u lose

moyes needs to give kagawa more of a chance, starting young instead of nani is dogshit and gotta play chicarito over danny wellblack because he is a donkey

i don't necessarily agree with this pic but i always chuckle when i see it

LOL I'd never start Chicharito against City. He's a one trick pony. All he does is try to slip out of the defenders sights and wait for a through ball; He's better at getting caught offside than he is at scoring goals.

Hernandez scores lots of tapins because of his speed and agility in the box - not a bad thing at all, just his style. He's a classy player.

You guys don't get it. Sure, no manager or fan would care how a striker scores goals as long as he scores a lot but what Hernandez does only works against teams with undisciplined defenders. City are very solid at the back, even more so at home. You saw the way they defended. As long as you mark him, he can't do shit. At least Welbeck has more to his game. Chicharito is no big game player.

no just no mate

i'd take him over any of chelsea's strikers. he's easily a 20 goal a season striker if he plays regularly.

not a big game player? how many has he scored against Chelsea again?
he would also have been another aerial threat in the box. you cant cover everyone

who cares if all of chicarito's goals are tap ins? he'll still outscore danny wellbeck for a laugh

I think sometimes we get caught up with strikers that score amazing goals that we don't realize that tap ins created by great off the ball runs are just as good.

if anything hernandez would have given city a disincentive to press high up the field so much. he has pace and is not an absolute klutz when played through in on goal

imo moyes should've played a more two-footed player against kolarov, as he's their weak point in defense. valencia is so one dimensional and with smalling behind him, kolarov was having the easiest time of his life. nani + fabio would've given him many more problems although obviously they Are not the most defensively sound either

Hernandez is a poacher.
it is kind of what he is suppsoed to do.

I'm not against poaching. But Hernandez has nothing else to offer. He can't dribble past defenders, he doesn't have a rocket of a shot, he's not very strong, he doesn't drop deep and set up his team mates because he's not very creative and while he's good at heading the ball, he cannot beat defenders in the air. Rooney, Van Persie and Welbeck can all poach but when that is not an option, as is usually the case in big and tight games, they have other methods of creating opportunities whereas Hernandez becomes a dead weight. He has only scored so many goals against us due to Luiz's carelessness. And Nos, I'd take Ba and Eto'o over him any day.

he doesnt need to be creative.
play him up top with Rooney behind, pinging passes through the back 4.
Hernandez can score headers for a small guy, like owen could.
