damn i love when my captain for fantasy puts up 2 points (4 after captain bonus), and my team still puts up 85... about the only positive thing about this weekend though...

Was at Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea put in their best performance all season, simply phenomenal both offensively and defensively (aside from that Essien pass). Southampton never looked like scoring.

I had a horrible Fantasy Football week ;_;

Coutinho got me 0, Skrtel bagged an own goal and captain Suarez did worse than I expected. Aguero only got me 1 point (but luckily I also had Negredo who served me well).

Good stuff Eagle! How much are the pies at Chelsea? They're a rip at Arsenal and so are the drinks!

Also, he was only on the pitch for 13 minutes but Mikel's average position today was deeper than Cech's. Talk about a defensive substitution lolol!

And finally, my fantasy team has well and truly gone to shit this season :D:D ... :'(

saw this post and couldn't help but wonder why you had Skrtel lol :O

I thought Liverpool would keep a clean sheet against Hull, and there's always a possibility of Skrtel bagging a headed goal from a corner

i lol @ people who put expensive liverpool players in their fantasy teams

put players that will consistently play well like Arsenal, chelsea and man city players.

Suarez is worth paying for tbh

also everyone put Suarez as your FPL captain considering Liverpool play Norwich and you know what happens then

hold on a minute did you just call man city consistent when they do absolutely nothing away from home?

also i have trouble complaining about having sturridge and suarez. Any other liverpool players sure, but sturridge and suarez are two of the best strikers, and aren't particularly overpriced, especially sturridge at 9.5 (although thats kind of irrelevant now that hes out for a while...)

lol i agree

West Ham vs Crystal Palace, Allardyce vs Pulis, the pinnacle of puntball! I'd still rather watch high quality ball to head than some of the crap in lower quality leagues. I remember tuning in to some Europa league game, ludogorets vs someone and it was horrific, like just random smack the ball anywhere and pray. At least the ball lands on someone's head with these quality long ball merchants, it has made me appreciate it a lot more!

edit: Also remember when Carlton Cole was the hot new prospect for the England team? He was one of my favourite strikers once upon a time lol...

Palace certainly needed that result - Pulis won't give half a monkeys as to how they win, so long as they win. After all, he has that record of never getting relegated to uphold...

One league lower and everything went bonkers - if Harry Redknapp is to be believed, virtually every game (bar wins for QPR and Reading) provided shocks - including a 1-0 win for my team, Huddersfield (if you get the chance to find the goal, watch it - screamer from a good 30/35 yards).

Speaking of screamers....
(first goal)

Yeah, we have history with this ;)

I like when the replay shows the view from behind the player cos you can see how he strikes it and it looks so much sweeter lol! Shame the first one didn't show that

That's what happens with the Championship...if you ain't on TV, you don't get all the different camera angles. The game at the weekend (v Burnley) was live on TV, the one against Charlton wasn't.

EDIT: Not exactly the best video quality, but here's tonight's screamer from Oliver Norwood:

glad to see another yorkshire champo supporter in here, at least you don't support sheff wed.

town are doing surprisingly well this season, surely youve got to expect them to drop off a bit somewhere along the line?

Local team are Town, what can I say :) wouldn't touch Sheff Wednesday if you paid me :U

I think under Mark Robins it comes down to learning from what happened last season and making sure it doesn't happen again. After about 7 games last season we were 2nd having just beaten Blackpool on their own patch - yet by the end of the season (and following a 12 match winless run) we were only just surviving on the final day (thank you Peterborough!). Even this season, after we beat Bournemouth 5-1, we only had 2 wins in 11 league games (against Charlton and Leeds) - with the last of those games being a 3-1 home loss to Birmingham, where we were absolutely abysmal.

However, the difference is the level of performance our players put in, even if we haven't gotten the results desired. Of the few years I've been watching Town (home, the odd game away), the way we've been playing under Robins is so much better than Grayson had gotten out of us with not too many differences in the squads. Admittedly, Robins himself has said it's a Work In Progress, but it feels like these last three games have seen things click, breeding confidence in the squad. Of late, we look confident to play the ball around the park, and we're getting good performances out of the midfield talent we have available (on their day, Oliver Norwood and Adam Clayton are unplayable in the Championship) to provide service to our front line.

Jonathan Hogg was a brilliant bargain (seems to be able to run around for 90 minutes straight to get challenges in) and Alex Smithies, our homegrown young keeper, has put in some sterling performances none of us Town fans thought he was capable of - he made an outstanding point-blank save to deny Danny Ings on Saturday and single-handedly kept us in the game against Bolton on Tuesday (5 saves, including an exceptional save to deny Matt Mills). The irony of that latter remark is that we scored with our only shot on target xD (horrible stat, however - we had 15 shots in the match...)

I feel like we've shirked the naivety that led to us being hammered a good few times last season (Forest 6-1, Leicester 6-1, Peterborough 3-1, Millwall 4-0 etc.), and the 3-5-2 formation means we have that extra man in midfield to keep the opposition guessing. Naturally, there may be a dip in form of sorts (even the best teams mess up at times - Barcelona's 2 defeats on the spin, for instance) - but so long as our manager keeps the squad with their feet on the ground and taking each game as it comes, even if the opposition get a lucky deflection that leads to a draw or defeat, I'm confident that the team will have put in a performance that Town fans can be proud of.

I'm guessing you're a Sheffield United supporter, shade?

yeah sorry to disappoint, im a leeds fan mate. i was at the john smiths when you beat us 3-2 in your cup final with a late john stead goal! (hes fucking shit too)

only got a couple of problems with town at the moment, namely the lack of a decent striker when james vaughan is taken away. sean scannell is great too but why does he never seem to start? can't see either of us challenging for play-offs come the end of the season, but if we win at wigan tonight then we're closing in. would be disappointing if you did drop off the pace and struggled, im hoping for a decent game at elland road!
