RE: DurzaOffTopic vs. Amukamara and Adaam vs. Eternally

Situation: In the first game of Durza's series against Amukamara for the UU Championships Durza forfeited after losing his Volcanion to a crit on the first turn. He claims the game was 100% unwinnable from that position and thus didn't want to bother with playing it out. Durza did play the entirety of the second game, thus not intentionally throwing the bo3 as a whole.

Furthermore, it has been pointed out to us that Adaam forfeited game 1 while forgoing to start the second game against Eternally, thus forfeiting their UU Majors playoffs series. Despite the fact that UU Majors is a qualification tournament towards the UU Championships ribbon, it is still part of the official UU circuit which means official tournament rules apply. You cannot forfeit a series like that.

Result: Both Durza and Adaam will be infracted for unsportsmanlike behavior. The difference between their behavior and that of roman in the Monotype circuit is as follows. Durza forfeited the first game after a detrimental start and continued to try to win his series against Amukamara in game 2. While he was absolutely wrong to forfeit and give up during the first game, he crucially didn't forfeit the entire series. As for Adaam, he did forfeit the whole series but given that he did in the round of 32 stage of a qualifier and not during the Championships playoffs stage we don't believe it warrants a tournament ban.

That said, we are worried about this behavior moving forward and might start cracking down harder on these offenses in the future. You're expected to show a competitive mindset and attitude when you participate in our tournaments. If your game starts out tough or your matchup looks dire, just keep on playing and see where it gets you. You could crit your way through, your opponent could choke themselves out of a great position; this is still Pokemon we're playing here. Anything can happen.
