2022 Other Metas Tour Circuit

Hello everyone, the OM tournament circuit will return in 2022! OM players will have a chance to prove that they are the best by competing in a series of tournaments throughout the year and earning points. At the end of the year, there will be a seeded playoffs consisting of the top 16 players with the most points. The winner of the playoffs will be crowned the overall best OM player of the year and have the ribbon above added to their postbit. The ribbon will last for a year until it is greyed out and permanently affixed to your postbit.

In accordance with Godly Gift becoming the sixth team tournament meta, we have added it to the 2022 circuit. It currently only has a spot in Grand Slam, but judging on its performance there, it might get a Seasonal later in the year.

Additionally, Grand Slam is changing how the point system works. Similar to discussions in the Tournament Policy forum, we are implementing a best finish limit of 4. This is not to say you can only join 4 Opens; instead, only the 4 best performances from the Opens you join count for qualifying for Grand Slam playoffs. The best finish limit doesn't affect your circuit points.

Hello! Given the booming popularity of Godly Gift in OM Grand Slam, the OM mod team has decided to give Godly Gift a seasonal as well. It will be placed after the BH seasonal; signups will start on August 21, and all of the current seasonals will be moved a week earlier. Given how early this makes our seasonals and how they might interfere with later weeks of OMPL, we are willing to hear suggestions on how to better organize the seasonals. We appreciate any suggestions in advance and congratulations to the Godly Gift playerbase!

RE: Skooma

Dropping out of the OMGS VII finals is the most recent of numerous actions from Skooma that have hindered the integrity of the OM circuit. A long history of performing well in OM tours to just drop out in the top 16 of them, as well as maliciously targeting our tournaments and joking about how he can continue to do this, has caused the OM staff team to take action.

Result: Skooma will be barred from participating in all OM-related tournaments (OM circuit tours, OM team tours, etc.) for 1 year. We would like to emphasize that this is not us hampering on him for dropping out of OMGS finals, as he was already tourbanned for that. Instead, we are doing this as a result of long-term trolling and malice towards our circuit.

In accordance with the updated policy on what can and can't be sent to players during a battle, we’ll be clarifying that this rule applies for OM tour matches and mechanics as well. Along with the rules listed in the post above, players may request information about a particular mechanic as it relates to the function of an OM, but asking for information about the opposing team is prohibited. Spectators are also prohibited from sharing or requesting information about matches or any relevant OM mechanics unsolicited.

One common occurrence that has led to the clarification of this rule is spectators asking for the moves and ability of Pokemon that were copied with Imposter, especially in Balanced Hackmons games. Players are allowed to share information as they please but requesting the set information reminds players about the mechanic and will be considered ghosting.
