Alright pals, now that Chromera has been uploaded to Pokemon Showdown, we're ready to begin the playtest! I'm very happy that so many people signed up, definitely looking forward to watching everyone's games this week. You'll find this week's matchups below.

Rules:
  • This is a standard [Gen 8] CAP tournament.
  • The format is best of three, single elimination.
  • Changing teams in between matches is allowed.
  • You are required to post your replays.
  • All Smogon tournament rules apply.
  • Any change in tiering will not take effect until the following round.
  • Matches must be played on Pokemon Showdown or Smogtours.
  • Please use this guide while scheduling with your opponent.
1st: 13 points
2nd: 10 points
3rd-4th: 8 points

Hys  vs  slurpuffthebest: Hys has more experience, not much else to say really.
OofTheQuagsire  vs  Nalorium: Has a badge as a tutor, so oof the quagsire man
Anique  vs  Binacleisthebest: Binacle is indeed the best, but I think Barbaracle is better
Lasen  vs  EpicUmbreon29: Epic is well versed in CAP, but Lasen holds the experience advantage in the current meta.

Idk how I can be considered the more disciplined builder when I brought a phys def excadrill vs. voltage and a metal sound zapdos vs. darek but I'll take it.

iNoLife  vs  Airwind - iNoLife is one of the most disciplined battlers I've ever seen.
SunMYSER  vs  zeefable - Often when players come in from other tiers into CAP they usually pick up a few games, this could be one of them.
jeffdaboss  vs  velvet - velvet is simply too epic to lose r1.
The Number Man  vs  Mx - Should be super close, but I've been using TNM's teams for months and none of them have let me down.

After subbing in Lucky Linoones for MrDollSteak, I was contacted by MDS to say that he had in fact responded to his opponent this week, but it was done via private message. As there was no heads up given to the fact that substitutions would be made this Thursday, I find it would unfair to follow through with it in this case. I'm reversing the decision, and the actual matchup will be as follows:
