5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

No, that would advance the IV frame. Nothing you can do but just spam X the second you enter the game and pray. You're able to distinguish the pitches right?

Also, if you use adjacent seed finder to find you hit your timer0 you can match the results on the main window and advance to 1 before the shiny frame. lol

I can't distinguish the pitches ;_;

also should i advance the PIDRNG or the regular one first? because for the ivrng wouldn't the NPC's be moving and affecting the PIDRNG? sorry if that's a stupid question xD

It's really a better idea to get an IVRNG frame 1 seed; no wonder you couldn't find the PIDRNG. The NPCs would be advancing it into the sky as you were running around.
Sometimes it's a pain to find 6IV spreads and stuff on frame 1; but if you search a few years it should be fine.

Edit: To get a distinguishable pitch, literally scream into your mic. My parents look at me like I'm crazy when I do it but w/e. Recently I've been using a recorded sound for it; brb as I go find it.

Edit 2: Use this. Hold your DS to your computer speaker and remember; TURN YOUR SPEAKERS DOWN IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEARING. (kinda)

Oh I see... lol I thought I was going crazy for a little bit. Thanks for the advice, I would've just blindly gone on. I'm gonna stick with frame 1 stuff from now on...

Well thanks again Lockie! If you want a copy of the terrakion just pm me :)

Hi, trying to learn to RNG and was following the steps in this video:

Using the latest RNGReporter and just trying to set up the DS parameters on my Black 2 on my 3DS. I've learnt that putting the seconds 20 ahead just as I start up the game seems to give the best results (as in not saying the IV ranges are too large) though when I go to "Search" it doesn't give the result of "1 Found" like in the video. It just processes the IV's/Calculation and gives me back nothing.

Sorry if this is a poor explanation but my RNG knowledge is quite minimal.

Here's a screenshot.

And then what happens when I try to search,

rngrepotersearch.png

I don't have any knowledge on how to hit Seeds in 4th Gen unfortunately, nor do I have access to those games any more.

Not sure what you're trying to ask. You don't adjust anything for Gen 5, you just select an hour/minute/seconds and date you feel comfortable with and start the game on that time > sweet scent for a Pokemon > type in the stats and continue from there.

Yeah, I realize my question might have been poorly worded. I'm not using a Sweet Scenter, just quickly catching one in the grass. I've got the stats of the Pokemon but when I click "Search" for where it should give you the results down the bottom, etc. I get nothing. It just goes through the search bar and nothing pops up as being found. That's why I showed the second screenshot of nothing being found.

Not sure how to correct this so it will let me proceed and get the profile details.

Use a Sweet Scenter otherwise you're advancing unnecessarily.

Hi, I'm gearing up for another attempt at RNGing Zekrom in Black 2 using my 3DS. This is my first RNG project.

My specific issue is that I am having trouble calibrating my game (finding out my timer0, vframe, etc). I have attempted to calibrate using the unova link method (finding out where the first spin starts in the searching for keys menu), and I have gotten wildly different results every time I've attempted this (using PPRNG 1.15.0). I have also attempted the old BW way, where you catch a wild pokemon (zekrom, in my case), and check its IVs (PPRNG never gave me any results when I used this method).

I also coordinated with lockiegengar12 to send my results to him to be checked on his copy of RNG reporter, but I think (hope) the fact that it was 3 am and tiredness was making me sloppy contributed to why I couldn't calibrate it then. When it isn't the wrong side of the morning, I am able to hit the same time with enough precision that I can get the same nature/IVs. I just need to calibrate so I can search for a flawless seed.

Important Part:
Now, I have access to a Windows machine, and I'm trying to find the download link for RNG reporter, but the link (quoted) from the OP is dead (looks like the domain has expired). Can someone link a mirror where I can download it from?

Use the Sweet Scenting method and save yourself the trouble.

Here and Here (XP Ver.)

Thanks for the link. :)

Is the sweet scenting method more effective than testing against zekrom (since I'm already standing right there, lol)? Either way, if I can't get a good result off of zekrom, I'll fall back on it. :)

Probably, yes. I don't remember if there's anything in Dragonspiral that effects the RNG, but if you can Sweet Scenting would probably be easier.

If you are not getting any valid calibration results with PPRNG, you won't get any valid results in RNG Reporter. The problem is either in your configuration (MAC Address, DS type, or game version), or in how you are starting your game (start from main 3DS menu, ensuring your DS's date and time are set correctly first, never soft-resetting, pressing no buttons at all until you see the Pokemon logo).

A few people have had issues with Unova Link calibration, but issues with IV calibration have always been user issues (not keeping C-Gear off, etc.). (And using Zekrom to calibrate is perfectly fine.)

Oh, so c-gear needs to be off, that's my issue! Thanks very much! :D

I've tested calibration twice now, results both times, and vcount and vframe have stayed constant, so I think that was my problem. :)

Hey, didn't feel this warranted another post, so I'm just editing this one. :)

Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know that I got my zekrom! :D I can RNG in Black 2 now!

Thanks to everyone who helped! chiizu, Esmeya, lockiegengar12, Mackenzie, AfroThunderRule, and *Trev*.

Hello everyone. I've been struggling to RNG a shiny, jolly, 5iv Cobalion in my White 2 version on my 3DS. I use RNGReporter 9.96.9. I am doing the non C-gear method. My parameters are Timer0: 1674-1674, VCount: AD, VFrame: 8, GxStat: 6, and Keypressess: None. The best Cobalion I can find occurs 6/12/28 at 13:36:16 resulting in a 31/31/31/11/31/31 spread. The target frame is 366 with an initial frame of 44 so ideally I need to advance the frame 322 times. The problem is that recently I have been unable to hit my seed. I have twice before hit the seed with the 322 frame advancement resulting in a careful and jolly 31/31/31/11/31/31 spread both non-shiny to calculate my frame advancement correction, but I have moved from my spot which has changed the npc's positioning. Yesterday I tried RNGing the Cobalion by starting the game at 13:36:09 on the date thirteen times but did not capture a single one with the seeds spread. I feel the major problem is that I can't sync my 3DS clock with an external clock. I wonder if this is just my 3DS but my 3DS clock is very inconsistent. I will reset the clock about a minute before the target time while starting my iphone stopwatch to track the time progression and immediately my 3DS will be a second, half a second before or after the stopwatch. I've also measured the minutes of my 3DS which fluctuate around my stopwatch minute progression. Though, I've successfully RNG a 5iv Reshiram and Kyurem but it seems the extra element of shininess has exponentially affected the difficultly. Also I am only doing this hoping it will help me RNG a shiny flawless eevee the game gives you.

Make sure to track your frame using the Chatot pitches. Otherwise, you're just missing your timer0. You don't necessarily have to have the minute gap of time to sync it; I usually find that setting my time just as the clock reaches the top then pressing A on whatever the time was is accurate. Make sure to spam A once you complete your advancements so the NPC doesn't mess you up.
Also, just warning you: The Eevee you receive in Castelia City can't be shiny.

Are you saying my problem is that I'm advancing the frames incorrectly? Is this why none of the Cobalions I encounter have the seed's IV spread, else I am being massively Timer0 trolled?

Unless you're taking steps, the IVs won't change based on the frame. They're controlled by a different RNG entirely.
You may be being trolled by the timer0, although you should have an idea of what range you hit based on your calibration, and so the results will line up with something in the Adjacents tab anyways (I assume RNG Reporter has that).

When it comes to syncing with an external timer, for gen 5 I just use a Rubik's cube timer. Hold down the OK button on the time screen on the DS, and the Space Bar on your computer, and then release both at the same time. Quickly go back to the home screen (on the DS) and then start up the game once the timer hits the appropriate time (minus your calibrated seconds).
