A bit later than a .6 K thread: a warstory ;P

I suck with intros so I'll make this quick. Escentially I'm just going through names on the unrated list when I come up to one that seemed remotely familiar to me: iKitsune. Probably seen him post on smogon, no doubt, but that was enough for me to at least send him the challenge message. Normally I wouldn't bother with challenging individual people, but seeing as my team is currently unplayable on the shoddy ladder, that really wasn't an option. Normally I go through the trouble of colors, but people always complain about it so screw it. So anyway, let the battle begin!

Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Strict Damage Clause, Timed Battle
iKitsune sent out Hippowdon.
Articanus sent out Uxie.
Hippowdon's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
iKitsune: hey
Articanus: yo
OK, so maybe we know each other but tbh, I don't really remember. After an exchange of friendly greetings, I took a look at the Hippowdon sprite looking over my tiny Pixie. My particular Uxie is scarfed with a SR, Yawn, and U-Turn support set, designed specifically for this team to force switches and punish them all in one. I decide to go with the safe path and simply Trick, hopefully leaving the Hippowdon heavily crippled. This would make like for my own Sand Streamer, Tyranitar, a lot easier.

Uxie used Trick.
Uxie obtained Leftovers!
Hippowdon obtained Choice Scarf!
Hippowdon used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
---
iKitsune: unsurprising
Alright, first step complete. He may have gotten Stealth Rock off, but that's of little trouble to this team, as you'll soon see. iKitsune keeps his composure as his Hippowdon is forced out. Whether he's going to go to something to set up or try to kill me, I don't know, either way I can pull him back to square one with a simple Yawn on the switch-in.

iKitsune switched in Vaporeon.
Uxie used Yawn.
Vaporeon became drowsy!
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Vaporeon is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Vaporeon lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
Vaporeon's leftovers restored its health a little!
Vaporeon restored 6% of its health.
---
I guess he went for the basic setup. Even if this was the (nonexistant) baton pass set, Yawn would cause the recipient of the Baton Pass to fall asleep. I have a feeling he'll go to Hippowdon, seeing as how he's done his job by setting up SS and SR and would(from his view) be the least useful because of the tricked Scarf. In case of any misprediction on my part I go with the safe U-Turn, meaning either his Vaporeon takes a quick nap or I get an easy counter in.

iKitsune switched in Hippowdon.
Hippowdon's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Uxie used U-turn.
A useless critical hit!
Hippowdon lost 16% of its health.
Well, I have only one way to really kill the beast, since my team runs no Sp. Attacks.

Articanus switched in Clefable (lvl 1 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Clefable.
The sandstorm rages.
Clefable is buffetted by the sandstorm!
---
iKitsune: deadly hippow
That's right, in case there's anyone that has read my most RMT, this is my first of the "Angels". In any case, he may or might not have realized that I am level 1, but either way I think I'd be quite right to assume that he's willing to sacrafice Hippowdon. I'll just go with a simple endeavor and react from there.

Hippowdon used Earthquake.
Clefable lost 100% of its health.
Clefable hung on using its Focus Sash!
Clefable used Endeavor.
Hippowdon lost 84% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Clefable is buffetted by the sandstorm!
---
Cool Earthquake: since he's choiced, I see no harm in going back to Uxie. Even if iKitsune predicts this switch and goes to his own counter(unlikely, since his switchin last time was a Vaporeon), I'll at least have revealed a new member on his team and I can always use my 1 HP Clefable as a valiant sacrifice at any time

Articanus switched in Uxie.
Pointed stones dug into Uxie.
Uxie lost 12% of its health.
Uxie makes ground moves miss with Levitate!
Hippowdon used Earthquake.
Hippowdon's attack missed!
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
---
Only going completely according to plan. Might as well set up a free SR to completely remove Hippowdon from the game: that might not be the case since this seems like heavy stall, with Rapid Spin somewhere on it, but I doubt it would ever prove to be any trouble.

Uxie used Stealth Rock.
Uxie makes ground moves miss with Levitate!
Hippowdon used Earthquake.
Hippowdon's attack missed!
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
---
...or he can leave his Hippowdon in for dead. I guess that works since after I kill it with U-Turn he gets to scout what I bring in as a counter. That's a good way of taking what you have and making the best use of it.

Uxie used U-turn.
Hippowdon lost 0% of its health.
iKitsune's Hippowdon fainted[6-5, Articanus].
Well, I can reverse-scout his switch-in with my own almost-dead pokemon!

Articanus switched in Clefable (lvl 1 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Clefable.
The sandstorm rages.
Clefable is buffetted by the sandstorm!
---
iKitsune switched in Lucario.
Pointed stones dug into Lucario.
Lucario lost 3% of its health.
This is very good: I get to see what kind of Lucario he's running for free, and if he trys to set up I can easily Endeavor him.

Lucario used Vacuum Wave.
It's super effective!
Clefable lost 8% of its health.
Articanus's Clefable fainted[5-5].
The sandstorm rages.
---
I applaud iKitsune of his use of Lucario: Specs really does pack a punch and I havent seen it in forever. Without any kind of LO recoil appearing(like on Train Man's wifi sp. attacking Lucario), I feel completely safe in bring Uxie back in.

Articanus switched in Uxie.
Pointed stones dug into Uxie.
Uxie lost 12% of its health.
By bringing in Uxie I can eaily force a switch, so I might as well Yawn whatever comes in.

iKitsune switched in Vaporeon.
Pointed stones dug into Vaporeon.
Vaporeon lost 12% of its health.
Uxie used Yawn.
Vaporeon became drowsy!
The sandstorm rages.

I love the Stealth Rock and Yawn combination. Again!

iKitsune switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
Uxie used Yawn.
Tyranitar became drowsy!
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
---
Oh geez! Why didn't he bring out Tyranitar the FIRST time? I take note of Leftovers recover and press onward: this may be that oddball Crunch Curse Resttalk set that I'm starting to see everywhere and I want to get the jump on it.

iKitsune switched in Skarmory.
Pointed stones dug into Skarmory.
Skarmory lost 12% of its health.
Uxie used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
Skarmory lost 2% of its health.
Or he could go straight to my team's fatal weakness, Skarmory. My only way to really deal with it is...

Articanus switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Skarmory's leftovers restored its health a little!
Skarmory restored 6% of its health.
---
With the amount of trouble Skarmory gives me(or steels in general), I should really consider running Fire Punch. This would make it easy to hit Lucario if it ever decides to come in. The reason I'm scared of the Lucario now is because of his immunity to SS and because he can either Aura Shere to 2HKO my entire team(with the exception of Uxie and Tyranitar itself, but Tyranitar doesn't count since it's OHKOed instead T-T), or it puts Uxie in an early grave with Dark Pulse/ Shadow Ball. Seeing as how in my last warstory, overprediction led to my demise early-game, I go for the safe Stone Edge.

Tyranitar used Stone Edge.
Skarmory lost 64% of its health.
Skarmory used Brave Bird.
It's not very effective...
Tyranitar lost 18% of its health.
Skarmory was hit by recoil!
Skarmory lost 6% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Skarmory's leftovers restored its health a little!
Skarmory restored 6% of its health.
---
iKitsune: holy shit
Articanus: XD
Why he Brave Birded I do not know: all I know is that I can let the damned thing get back it's HP. Die Robot Chicken, DIE!

Tyranitar used Stone Edge.
Tyranitar's attack missed(fuck...)!
Skarmory used Spikes.
Spikes were scattered everywhere!
Spikes were scattered around the foe's team!
The sandstorm rages.
Skarmory's leftovers restored its health a little!
Skarmory restored 6% of its health.
---
Articanus: gogo BandTar
This is why you shouldn't let things go so easily early-game: scouting helps a great deal, otherwise he would have realized how dangerous Skarmory was to me and would have recovered.

Tyranitar used Stone Edge.
Skarmory lost 34% of its health.
iKitsune's Skarmory fainted[5-4, Articanus].
The sandstorm rages.
---
In comes Lucario to start the dreaded prediction war...

iKitsune switched in Rhyperior.
Pointed stones dug into Rhyperior.
Rhyperior lost 6% of its health.
...or he can pull out Rhyinferior out of his ass. =O
That's another problematic pokemon: I'd rather sacrifice Uxie over anything else, as she's done her job by forcing, punishing, and scouting switches all-in-one.

Articanus switched in Uxie.
Pointed stones dug into Uxie.
Uxie lost 12% of its health.
Rhyperior used Rock Polish.
Rhyperior's speed was sharply raised.
The sandstorm rages.
Uxie is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Uxie lost 6% of its health.
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
---
The turn of setup doesn't really matter. I have a revenge-killer to take it anyways.

Rhyperior used Stone Edge.
A critical hit!
Uxie lost 63% of its health.
Articanus's Uxie fainted[4-4].
Rhyperior lost 10% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---
Articanus switched in Clefairy (lvl 1 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Clefairy.
Clefairy was hurt by Spikes!
Articanus: should be a clefairy
iKitsune: roffleeeeee
Yes, what should be a Clefairy is actually a Clefable: the reason I can't ladder with this team is because NFE's haven't been updated with platinum moves yet, so I've been forced to use three Clefables and violate species clause while challenging random people.
Back to the match, I go with Endeavor for a number of reasons. The first and main one is that Rhyperior is a threat and I need to eliminate it. The other reason is that, should my opponent decide to save Rhyperior, I get a free kill without disturbing my focus sash. How this plays out now is up to iKitsune.

iKitsune switched in Vaporeon.
Pointed stones dug into Vaporeon.
Vaporeon lost 12% of its health.
Clefairy used Endeavor.
Vaporeon lost 72% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Vaporeon is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Vaporeon lost 3% of its health.
iKitsune's Vaporeon fainted[4-3, Articanus].
Clefairy is buffetted by the sandstorm!
---
iKitsune: wtf
Vaporeon gets Endeavored to a watery grave as a monster 100 times weaker than it defeats it with a single blow(and a little help from streaming sand). I await the Lucario that I dread coming into play; thankfully I can protect and scout for his move before actually deciding what to do though.

iKitsune switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
Or he could bring in back Tyranitar. Seeing as how he's so confident in bringing it into Clefable, I suspect the rarely-seen TyraniBOAH set. The problem is Substitute, which means that he can keep subbing to the point where my endeavors won't break his substitute, letting him wreck havok as he pleases.

Tyranitar used Substitute.
Tyranitar lost 25% of its health.
Tyranitar made a substitute!
Clefairy used Endeavor.
The substitute took damage for Tyranitar!
Tyranitar's substitute faded!
The sandstorm rages.
Clefairy is buffetted by the sandstorm!
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
---
Why do I have to be right!?! Seeing as how I can't allow him to get to the point in which Clefable becomes useless(I wish I had Encore now), I make a safe switch to my second U-Turner.

Articanus switched in Scizor.
Pointed stones dug into Scizor.
Scizor lost 12% of its health.
Scizor was hurt by Spikes!
Scizor lost 12% of its health.
Tyranitar used Crunch.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 20% of its health.
Scizor's defence was lowered.
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
---
And ouch: SR and Spikes, not to mention that Crunch, took a bit of health off my Scizor. With only 55% left and LOed, next time I come in I'll only have 20% left.

Tyranitar is tightening its focus!
Scizor used U-turn.
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 63% of its health.
OK what: not only is he NOT dead, but he wasted his turn with a mispredicted Focus Punch. Would have been cool if I had SDed, but I'm not the fool he obviously is trying to play me as(only Mr. Happy is allowed to do that! ;D).

Articanus switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
Tyranitar was hurt by Spikes!
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
Scizor lost 10% of its health.
Tyranitar used Focus Punch.
Tyranitar lost its focus and couldn't move!
The sandstorm rages.
Tyranitar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Tyranitar restored 6% of its health.
---
I can't let Lucario come in for free and I want this Tyranitar dead: time for CB EQ.

Tyranitar used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 11% of its health.
iKitsune's Tyranitar fainted[4-2 Articanus].
The sandstorm rages.
---
And just as I was starting to feel good about this match...

iKitsune switched in Lucario.
Pointed stones dug into Lucario.
Lucario lost 3% of its health.
This fucker comes back in. Nothing can switch into it obviously, and Tyranitar has done more than enough(and really can't do anything more), so adios!

Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Another useless critical hit!
Tyranitar lost 45% of its health.
Articanus's Tyranitar fainted[3-2 Articanus].
The sandstorm rages.
---
Recap: I have a Scizor with 20% once it comes in who can't do jack shit to Lucario. I also have my two other angels in the back, one which has yet to be revealed, "Cleffa". With my back to the wall:

Articanus switched in Clefairy (lvl 1 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Clefairy.
Clefairy was hurt by Spikes!
I send out "Clefairy" once more to soften up the opponent.

Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Clefairy lost 100% of its health.
Clefairy hung on using its Focus Sash!
Clefairy used Endeavor.
Lucario lost 94% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
Clefairy is buffetted by the sandstorm!
---
No use protecting or switching: he's choiced and that would only be a waste of wasteful time.

Lucario used Aura Sphere.
It's super effective!
Clefairy lost 8% of its health.
Articanus's Clefairy fainted[2-2].
The sandstorm rages.
---
With "Cleffa" having no damaging attacks, I go to Scizor to finish off my weakened foe(even if it did hae an attack I would go to Scizor).

Articanus switched in Scizor.
Pointed stones dug into Scizor.
Scizor lost 12% of its health.
Scizor was hurt by Spikes!
Scizor lost 12% of its health.
iKitsune: priority move ftw
Yes Priority is very helpful: especially after the opponent is down to 1%.

Scizor used Bullet Punch.
It's not very effective...
Lucario lost 0% of its health.
iKitsune's Lucario fainted[2-1, Articanus].
Scizor lost 10% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.

Articanus: yeppers
Articanus: ^^
Now it's with our backs to the wall: without any damaging moves, if my Bullet Punch doesn't kill the Rhyperior, Cleffa is genuinely doomed.

iKitsune switched in Rhyperior.
Pointed stones dug into Rhyperior.
Rhyperior lost 6% of its health.
Scizor used Bullet Punch.
It's super effective!
Rhyperior lost 52% of its health.

Oh shit... 've lost since Endeavor can't kill the opponent...
...is what you would THINK I would say, but thankully I'm smart enough to plan ahead!

Articanus switched in Cleffa (lvl 1 Clefable).
Pointed stones dug into Cleffa.
Cleffa was hurt by Spikes!
iKitsune: wtf
Articanus: please don't miss
Articanus: this would be a cleffa
iKitsune: why dont you run bullet punch
Articanus: I did
Articanus: @_@
Articanus: you lived
OK, what I don't want to miss is Toxic: he has exactly 16%, so if the game doesn't round down, LO + Toxic damage will kill him and I'll win. However, that means despite my good plays this match I have a 15% chance that I'll lose.

Rhyperior used Earthquake.
Cleffa lost 100% of its health.
Cleffa hung on using its Focus Sash!
Rhyperior lost 10% of its health.
Cleffa used Toxic.
Drumroll...

Rhyperior was badly poisoned!

iKitsune: oh rofl
iKitsune: gg
iKitsune: that is so broken
Articanus: warstory
iKitsune: yeah
Articanus: I'm serious
iKitsune: rock poish perior is so cool
Articanus: yeah it is
Articanus: XD
iKitsune: i love your warstories
Articanus: thanks
Articanus: I've been wanting to make one
Articanus: and mainly for this tea
Articanus: *team

Oh my God this warstory was freakin' awesome. That drumroll part.. Oh my God...
Dude congrats do more of this. Seriously.

Three Clefairy-based Focus-Sash Endeavorers. Clever, I guess. Magic Guard prevents them from breaking your sash early. Too bad they can't learn quick attack, or they'd potentially be cool.

cool warstory (why didnt you run this by me so i could format it >.>)

you can eat tonight
Thanks I was hungry! =D
Also I kinda hurried to finish this, so I ignored colors. I'll make it prettier later I guess.

Oh my God this warstory was freakin' awesome. That drumroll part.. Oh my God...
Dude congrats do more of this. Seriously.
lol I think I already do too many of these things but thanks for the compliment =D

Haha I finally got to see your sexy RMT in action :). Nice battle dude.
Thanks: can't wait to ladder with it, if I ever get the chance to =/

totally badarse
XD sure

Lol, level 1 Clefable isn't even possible. It would have to be at least level 3.
Pomeg Glitch, and the difference between 1 and 3 in so miniscule that it really wouldn't bother me.

ah, this was Great. Best warstory I've read in ages.
heh... cleffa.
Yay tourney buddy! =]
Thanks for posting

Three Clefairy-based Focus-Sash Endeavorers. Clever, I guess. Magic Guard prevents them from breaking your sash early. Too bad they can't learn quick attack, or they'd potentially be cool.
Dude if they got Quick Attack or anything of the sort they would be uber XP not really but I would like to think so

Very well done, props
thanks ^^

I like it.

Very interesting team you have there, hope you have success with it on ladder when the tutors are implemented.

I have asked Doug about the NFE Pt tutor in relation to the Little Cup metagame, he is busy with some large upgrade for shoddy but with a bit of luck he will have some time to sort it out before too long.

Pomeg Glitch, and the difference between 1 and 3 in so miniscule that it really wouldn't bother me.

The Pomeg Glitch is in Emerald, so it would be Level 5, but I'm not sure if stones even apply.

Anyway this is a really cool team, and an excellent warstory too.

My Slops

I had no idea a bandtar could do that much to a skarm this was by far my biggest downfall as i thought i was perfectly safe in that situation obviously not.

I was really unsure about the mechanics of endeavor and the potential for the combination of magic guard. This lack of knowledge decimated me. Apart from that this was probably the funnest match and team i have played in a long time. I have since retired this team as the over the top use of OU's clearly is not my thing, perhaps i should study the less known but more devatating tactics.

Thanks once again to articanus for a wonderful and inspiring match.

P.S. I hope they udate the NFE's with platinum moves.

This is my alltime best warstory now just cause OmegaDonut wasted his 1337th post here XD

Anyway I actually just put encore back because it lets me set up with Scizor too, but thanks for the imput XD

I love what you did to hippowdon.

That lucario really got clefable good, ha ha

EDIT: holy cow I didn't notice there were 3 clefables, guess I didn't read carefully.
AWESOME warstory.

Funny warstory and nice team.
Thanks ^^

I love what you did to hippowdon.

EDIT: holy cow I didn't notice there were 3 clefables, guess I didn't read carefully.
AWESOME warstory.
XD lol, they should be a Cleffa, Clefairy, and Clefable but meh ah well ^^

Love those clefs!!
Who doesn't?

Sweet warstory. We all love clefable :)
That lucario kicks ass.
Specs Lucario is pretty sweet, no?

good story, made for some interesting reading :)
glad to see you liked it

I expect the Species Clause is now going to extend to previous evolutions because of Endeavor abuse.
No, there's always the obvious answer of using a ghost to shut down the whole strategy(though anything but Gengar can be Toxiced, but Gengar usage is actually dropping and I find him to usually be usually Trick-Choice user.
