Anna is incredibly weak right now, and it is showing. But rather than go in for the kill, Vinestrike decides to Chill and regain some energy. It seems to be the smart play, as she avoids a nasty Sucker Punch, while the poison and Leech Seed continue to take their toll on Anna. Anna tries to lure Vinestrike in for another Sucker Punch, but once again, Vinestrike just Chills and Anna collapses from the poison damage.

Perhaps this is where Teleport will be useful. Combos operate at -2 priority, so use Teleport to flee away as far as necessary. Then finish him off with a Psychic + Psychic combo!

With Clive now ready to avenge Anna, Brandon orders Vinestrike to attack with both Leaf Storm and Frenzy Plant. Vinestrike tries to combine these attacks, but all she does is exhaust a large amount of energy looking like a fool. Clive then pointlessly Teleports one meter away. Vinestrike finally gets an order that it understands and launches some Seeds at Clive that begin to Leech away its health. Clive retaliates with a Super Psychic that knocks Vinestrike out, leaving our competitors at three Pokemon each.

I really don't get why I can't use two moves of the same type and damage type (special) together, even if they don't mesh perfectly. People have done far more with comboes in the past (read: almost every combo Deck makes), so I don't see why I can't. But whatever, "ref's discretion" :/ (Doesn't help that I usually sub to do something else if the combo wouldn't work and I decided not to this time and this is yet another in a long line of retarded mistakes I've been making recently x_x)

EDIT: It's not so much your discretion that I'm annoyed with as it is the idea of ref's discretion in general; I know that it's a huge part of ASB, but I hate it when something works one way with one ref and a different way with another ref, it means that matches are never played by the exact same rules. I dunno, it just really bugs me :/

Brandon thanks Vinestrike for her work and sends out Nightstrike to finish what she started. Clive tries to take advantage of Nightstrike's weakened state and buries her under a Rock Tomb, lowering her speed. Nightstrike quickly climbs out and slams into Clive, getting some Paybacks. Clive rushes in to continue the assault, but before it can react, Nightstrike smacks him with a Sucker Punch. That's quite an impressive feat considering she doesn't have hands. Clive retaliates by launching a Beam of Ice at Nightstrike. Just as Nightstrike shakes off the frost of the last attack, Clive fires another Ice Beam at her. Nightstrike is ready and gets her Payback by crashing into Clive a second time.

After the Clive's Kamikaze last round, Alchemator decides to send out the incredibly exhausted Alexander and Brandon responds by sending out Shadowstrike the Golurk for the first time. This doesn't look good for Alex, but he doesn't seem to worried, and he is starting to look a little healthier while Shadowstrike is looking drained. Alex must have pulled off a Pain Split. Shadowstrike doesn't seem to mind as he Punches Alex with his Shadowy fist. Shadowstrike then begins to focus and prepares for a mighty attack. Alex doesn't seem to care about Shadowstrike as he Chills and regains some of his energy. Shadowstrike then unleashes all of his power into this Shadow Focus Punch that devastates Alex. The energy it took to perform this attack has left Shadowstrike wide open and he takes a powerful Leaf Blade from Gallade.
