It's Megaqwer's Time!

Angel (Shedinja) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Wonder Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-O-Wisp
- Toxic
- Protect

While it sounds silly and it is though.I noimated shedinja. Not only it beats any variations of geoxern but also covers up weakness for the team, namely grass/thunder for kyogre and poison/steel for xerneas. This set is basically to baton pass in safe switches, toxic the switch ins, namely fire types.Shadow sneak to 2ohko ghosts, might sacriface the sash and protect to scout.

I cant say much, although this mon needs very careful plays and hazard removal.I just think it fits in fine.

Leaving you all mad at this.

Ho-Oh @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 196 Atk / 52 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Recover
- Earthquake/Whirlwind

standard af LO Ho-Oh set that checks Xern pretty well.

Poisonceus is a really solid Xern check already but has a chance at being 2hkoed by Thunder from full health (30%) and may not be able to handle multiple Xerneas, especially if they have a psychic move, since 25% of the Xerneases carry either Psyshock or Psychic according to the 1760 usage.
Ho-Oh is a great answer to this and also hits extremely hard obviously with its high powered stabs. Picked this over Band Ho-Oh because Xerneas is already an excellent answer to Darkrai but the Banded Ho-Oh set works well too

Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Atk / 52 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide
- Precipice Blades

Another way to add another Xern check in the form of Paradancer Primal Groudon. The EV spread allow Pdon to always survive a +2 HP Ground or Focus Blast after Stealth Rock. Thunder Wave is always good, allowing Groudon to cripple enemy Xerneas, and many other Pokemon to are trying to set up or on a predicted switch. Adding a powerful Physical Attacker like this one allows the team an alternate route to deal with walls like Blissey that may be able to take on Xerneas, Kyogre and Arceus once Mewtwo has been weakened or defeated. Groudon also gives the team a better switch in to Primal Kyogres carrying Thunder, and a Pokemon that can absorb burns for the other members of the team,

So we have no POgre switching, no PDon switching (Ogre is 2HKOd by offensive variants), switching in on Mega Ray is a pain and EKiller can be an issue if it's already boosted. Kind of a lot but I think this will work:

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 100 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Whirlwind

Lugia checks a ton of stuff and greatly appreciates the support Mewtwo provides. Mewtwo's Taunt keeps Lugia from getting hit with status and Lugia can also take advantage of burned opponents by setting up a Substitute and/or phasing the opponent out to get more chip damage (Assuming we have a Rocks setter later).

Rhythms says: Voting may now commence!

- Dual-Status Shedinja by megaqwer:D
- Tank Ho-Oh by bp scrub
- Paradancer Primal Groudon by rhydreigon
- Toxic Lugia by Yuga42

I'll be casting my vote to Groudon; even though I had initially wanted to vote for Lugia. The team is incredibly Ghost Arceus weak and Kyogre weak. We're simply reducing the Ghost Arceus weakness and almost nullifying the Kyogre weakness this way, which is probably the most ideal situation at this point. Apparently you all think we're Xerneas weak, which I can't comprehend? We just added a Poison Arceus, and while that can be overwhelmed by Psyshock Xerneas, it shouldn't be the main concern at the moment when much more potent weaknesses exist in the two aforementioned threats. And to solve this anyway, we did add a Xerneas check in this Pokémon as well; and all three prominent Ghost Arceus sets are at least halted by Primal Groudon, so it should be okay. I tried thinking of an alternate threat to patch these weaknesses, but I failed. Also Ho-Oh can kind of threaten if it outspeeds Kyogre, and hence the extra backbone of Primal Groudon aids the team significantly. idk just my two cents

Coming into this CCAT late but I've read the thread up to this point to get an idea of the idea this tea is being formed with/around. It seems to me that, at this point in the team, were much more vulnerable to POgre than Xern. So I'll cast a vote for the paradancer PDon and hopefully get a set in later on

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Iron Defense / Whirlwind
- Iron Head / Toxic
- Stealth Rock / Defog
- Roost

Skarmory fits as physical wall on the team, and is more reliable than Mewtwo as physical wall. It nicely rounds down a nice Balance Team with good support moves imo

There is no ghost or psychic coverage, and this depicts both, plus it can withstand a hit from a noncrit 252+ xerneas moonblast. It has rocky helmet and very bulky, but can still pack quite a punch as the calcs show! This is the all around Tank. Taunt stops others from will-o-wisping it, which is extremely useful, so you don't have to waste 25% hp to get substitute. It is a great Tank and I hope you all enjoy it too.

i have to say i cant accept this until you at least edit in a basic description of what the set does for the team and in general.

yeah sorry I was doing that. I couldn't do it all at once because my internet crashes often and I would lose all the other stuff while writing a description.

Our team lacks a mega, so this lacks the usual downside of not using mega Rayquaza. It provides back up answers to MRay, Ekiller, Fairy Arceus, Ghost Arceus and Xerneas, all of which have only one solid answer on out team. It also removes troublesome pokemon such as Lugia or Darkrai for the team, and adds some much-needed speed to our lineup.

So I'm really not a fan of the direction the team has gone in, but the biggest issue here 100% is the way nothing switches into Pdon at all, even worse than the way Ray sorta tears it up. While some kind of weird semistall is far from an ideal build imo, just some thoughts for people to submit would be some kind of dragceus, giratina (altho origin dies a bit too fast for such a passive team) or even a support megamence (puke). Not gonna submit something myself but those stand out as the best mons to patch up this hole rn which none of the current sets really address (yveltal comes closest and has its own list of drawbacks)
e @ below: there's no point in voting a terrible fit just because we can go back and edit all the members later, that sorta defeats the purpose of trying to build a good team. this thread is also for discussing the current build, no need to get snippy if somebody points out the build sucks. also I get we can fix members, that's part of the reason I'm recommending all dragons despite CM fairyceus going from threatening to a huge problem, but it's a much more minor problem to fix in review than being 6-0d by Pdon

luckily, if you read the OP, we're fixing the team after all the members are chosen

not to mention i never said to not submit terrible choices, and while you might think you're trying to counterargue me, there's really no point because you still didnt even reflect the OP.

e: this came across rude but still you could have mentioned this in the post :/

I happened to come across this earlier and didn't feel like posting but I'm going to do so now.

Nominating Lugia

Nothing on the team currently likes switching into Mega-Rayquaza and the whole team isn't too strong vs Swords Dance Arceus. Mewtwo is not a reliable check in any way whatsoever and it's barely a blanket check to Swords Dance Arceus; thus the team needs something that's more defensively capable of taking on offensive threats. Let it be known that adding Lugia on the team does create a larger weakness to dark types, but I feel the combination of Choice Scarf Xerneas and Arceus-Poison (after correcting it's EV's and moveset) can still make the team viable enough to use. The main argument of using Lugia over Skarmory seems to be that Skarmory makes the team weaker to Ho-oh and Primal Groudon than the team already is. Lugia can wall Primal Groudon pretty well and can somewhat stall Ho-oh with a lot of effort, so it definitely seems optimal in this scenario. Not to mention Lugia also provides the ground resist the team desperately needs.

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam / Substitute
- Toxic
- Roost
- Whirlwind

Use of Ice Beam / Substitute is debatable because of how weak the team is to offense in general, but I'm inclining towards Ice Beam.

Side note: The team can be massively improved by eliminating Mewtwo and replacing it with Arceus-Rock. Mewtwo doesn't do much on the team except poorly check Arceus, whereas Arceus-Rock + Lugia is a nice defensive core and Lugia can freely run substitute when being paired with Arceus-Rock. Moreover, Arceus-Rock gives the team a better Yveltal and Ho-oh switch-in as well as a late game sweeping option. I don't know how much influence this suggestion will have now, but I hope it's taken into consideration.
