Data Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer (ASB Version)

Torment is a dumb move.

I'm still confused about it. Okay, I know it prevents moves used from last round and moves can't be used twice in a row, but is it continuous or when it moves onto the next round, it's only the past round that is inflicted, not the past past round?

Example:
Round 1

Rattata used whatever!
Magikarp used Tackle!

Rattata used Torment!
Magikarp became tormented!
Magikarp used Bounce!

Rattata used whatever!
Magikarp used Tackle!

(Okay, now it's moving to the next round. This round, the tormented Pokemon (Magikarp) cannot use any moves from last round. So yes, this is Bounce and Tackle.)

Round 2

Rattata used whatever!
Magikarp used Bubble!

Rattata used whatever!
Magikarp used Splash!

Rattata used whatever!
Magikarp used Bubble!

(Okay, now there's one more action of Torment left. What I'm wondering if ALL of the past moves are inflicted by Torment, and as such, cannot be used (Tackle and Bounce from the first round and Bubble and Splash from the second round). I originally thought it was only the round before Torment was used that the effect took place, but I was wrong there. I've been doing Torment as "the round prior", so if the Torment goes into the third round, it'll inflict the second round and not the first round. But now I see "any given round" so that's confusing me.)

Rattata used Hyper Beam!
Magikarp can't use Splash or Bubble! But maybe it can use Tackle or Bounce?!??!
Magikarp doesn't know! Magikarp used Reversal!
 
Torment only affects the round directly previous from what I understand. So in that last round Magikarp would be able to use Bounce and Tackle, but not Splash or Bubble.
 
@shinyskarmory, I believe it's to the ref's discretion. I do suggest having the 2 pokemon at a similar speed (Say, ~10 Points off?), and, of course, if the moves make sense with one another.
 
Ok, Thunder in Rain or Blizzard in Hail. Does the "perfect" accuracy referred to mean the base accuracy is increased to 100%, or is the move then considered to have -- accuracy.

Basically can it be effected by evasion?
 
@deadfox081, Thunder and Blizzard normally have 100% accuracy if used in their respective weathers. However, if an Electric-Type uses Thunder in Rain (or if an Ice-Type uses Blizzard in Hail), it has -- Acc and a 30% chance of breaking through Protect (Detect is not mentioned; possibly an error?)

I now want to ref one of your matchs Endquote but as for your question, I'm actually unsure. I would say yes if I was Deck but he could say differently. I'd take this straight to an ASB mod if I were you.
 
@Endquote; I checked this on IRC a while back, and you're not allowed to. I think it's to stop people from cheating (I give this Beginner Trainer a Bajillion RC! Secretly, he is me! Muwahahaha!) and giving honest folk an unfair disadvantage.

My question: If a match started before the new weight class was implemented, do I have to use the new system? If not, can someone please give me a list of all the info. for moves that were changed? I'm asking because a match I'm subreffing starts out with a Psychic.
 
Whatever the mechanics are when a match starts are the mechanics that are to be used during the match. Also, all changes from the last SotG can be found in the Policy Advisory, which is stickied.
 
If someone uses Encore on a Combo, how does that work? Does the encored Pokémon attempt to repeat the combo? Or is there another mechanic involved...
 
I think the pokemon uses the combo on turns when it can act and cools down on turns it cannot until the Encore ends. I may be wrong though.
 
Are you allowed to collect EC on a pokemon that doesn't evolve (e.g Farfetch'd, Mawile), just in case Game Freak decides to bring out an evolution?

No SimonSays. Take the extra MC instead (though this requires you to have your DC maxed out as well).
 
Well, eventually you're going to be getting the extra MC. If you have no DW ability, then it's 3 MC from the get-go. Otherwise, it's 3 MC after 5 battles at the most.

I'm reffing a match where a pokemon used Taunt and then its opponent tried to use a Thunder Wave+Hex combo. Should I allow the combo?

EDIT: Never mind. Looked it up in the Data Audit thread.
 
When a Pokemon evolves, if its evolved form would have learnd any move prior to level 25 had it evolved before said level, does it learn those moves upon evolution?
 
Yes. For example, when my Duskull evolved into Dusclops, it automatically learned the elemental punches and Gravity for free.


My question; Comboes, if they deal damage, still have a crit roll, right?
 
I'm trying to calculate Dodge, and Data Audit thread says that "The Pokemon's Size Class determines its Base Dodge". What is Base Dodge and where can I find further information on it?

EDIT: Nevermind. It's in the Data Audit, in the Stat System post. =\
 
Just a quick one. Since the Revamp for Cyclohm just ended, and I claimed my Monohm before the changes were made, will I have to update my Monohm with the new specs, or will mine stay the same and be grandfathered in?
 
Okay, I have a question. According to the Data Audit Thread:

Scope Lens: Doubles (x2) the critical hit stage for the Pokemon.

Now then, say that I'm using a Honchkrow with Super Luck, and use Faint Attack. Would the doubling occur after the super luck (making it Stage 4), or before, (making it Stage 3)?
