Maybe it's me, maybe it's shoddy, but what is the advanced option for connecting to the CAP server? The CAP server hasn't been up there for a while, and I don't know the advanced option settings. Only the offical server is currently showing for me, so I even have to type in the Smogon U stuff (Host: smogon.com, Port: 50000). Thanks in advance for the person who gets it back to me.
Host: cap.servegame.com
Port: 8888

After Doug impliments CAP7 on the server (sometime soon), there will be a 2 week testing period, so after that.

Well we have to wait for Kitsunoh to be implemented on the server (2 days-1 week?)
Testing (2 weeks)
Then they finish the policy reviews (3 days-1 week?)
So about 2 weeks, 5 days minimum, 4 weeks maximum...I think.

how do you create the new pokemon?

i like syclant. do these pokemon ever make it onto the actual games?

You can't make new pokemon by yourself. It's a community effort. We have 2-3 month long projects just to make one pokemon. Sorry if that upsets you. :S

I honestly have been wondering this, and couldn't find a reason anywhere I looked. Okay, so I'm not completely familiar with CaP, but I know that the goal of it is ultimately the competitive aspect of Pokemon over flavor. If this is the case, why does the art design come before the movepool etc.? If it were the other way around, the art could be based around the stats/movepool, which would keep the same flavor of CaP but have everything biased to competitivety instead of how it is now.

Sorry if this has been brought up already. I probably could have asked on mIRC, but this seemed the more appropriate place.

edit: thanks

I'd take a look at old PR threads from here, and flip through the pages. This is one of the biggest debates on the forum, and is a gigantic can o' worms. It's not a simple question.

As tennis says, this is not a simple question, but as of now, the reasoning is that flavor is completely separate from the competitive aspect and therefore neither influences the other. This is probably seen best in Kitsunoh, where a Pokemon that has no regular "hands" in the art was able to get the elemental punches because they were competitively favorable over the elemental fangs that the art would suggest.

i only have 6 caps available, not the ultimate scout kitsunoh. i have updated my sprites and everything so why isnt he showing up?

Did you try clicking "New Team" instead of editing a current one? Did you redownload the CAP Sprite Updater? Try to delete and download it again.

Hey! This question has probably been asked before, but...

How (and can) you suggest new creatures for CAP? I've had this idea for a Pokemon for quite a while now, but I'm not sure if I should just post my idea with a picture? or do the 'pros' get together and see what kind of Pokemon would be a good addition to the Pokemon universe, regardless of personal wants?

I mean, will there be some kinda public forum that'll receive ideas from everybody? Just wondering...

And, one more little question: I just downloaded the Shoddy battle thing, but the sprites for all the CAPs don't show up! (like, in the little shiny/normal box thing... I haven't actually done a battle yet, so I don't know if it'll show up in the battle screen or not. :P)

You have to wait till CAP 8 to submit a concept.
And you're not seeing them because you have to download this:

The CAP project is designed to study the competitive pokemon metagame. However, all CAPs so far have studied the competitive OU pokemon metagame. It seems to me that the UU metagame is in many respects more enjoyable than the OU metagame owing to a greater variety of usable pokemon. My question therefore is this: would it be possible for CAP to create a UU pokemon, to study the UU metagame? I am aware that this would require changes to the CAP server, but is the idea under consideration?
