Because after this you should control every pokemon and change it in base of its ability. Politoed and Ninetales should have 2 different tiers, same goes for non-technician Scizor. Kazam with no Magic Guard should be in RU, there would people asking for overcoat reuniclus to be UU, same goes for no skill link cloyster. And what about sand veil Dugtrio or rough skin Garchomp? And Espeon, Staraptor, Wobbuffet, Excadrill... These are only few examples..

Is there a priority list for move effects and weather effects?

For example, picture the following totally possible event that just happened but I forgot to save a log. ;)

A Sandstorm is raging, and both sides of the field have full hazards down. P1 has a Crobat on the field. It's holding a Life Orb, and it's had both Ingrain and Aqua Ring Baton Passed to it. It's also been Leech Seeded.

P2 dry switches in his Sharpedo. It's holding Leftovers and it has Rough Skin. P1 attacks the incoming Sharpedo with Leech Life.

For the sake of clarification, Crobat is faster than Sharpedo.

Now, I know all the following are going to happen:
Sharpedo will take Stealth Rock and Spikes damage, and is going to get badly poisoned. Crobat is going to hit Sharpedo with Leech Life. Leech Life is going to steal HP. Rough Skin will hit Crobat. Life Orb will hurt Crobat. Sandstorm's going to hit them both. Leftovers will heal Sharpedo, toxic poison will hurt him, and Crobat will get some healing from Aqua Ring and Ingrain, and Leech Seed hurt Crobat and will give some health to Sharpedo.

My question is, what is the order for all this stuff?

Sewino called Magikarp back!
Sewino sent out Sharpedo!
The foe's Sharpedo is hurt by the spikes!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Sharpedo!
The foe's Sharpedo was badly poisoned!
Crobat used Leech Life!
It's super effective! The foe's Sharpedo lost 20% of its health!
Crobat is hurt by the foe's Sharpedo's Rough Skin!
The foe's Sharpedo had its energy drained!
The foe's Crobat lost some of its HP!
The sandstorm rages.
Crobat is buffeted by the sandstorm!
The foe's Sharpedo is buffeted by the sandstorm!
The foe's Sharpedo restored HP using its Leftovers!
Aqua Ring restored Crobat's HP!
The foe's Sharpedo was hurt by poison!

(Ingrain should have come after Aqua Ring but my Crobat had 100% hp)

If i swords dance 3 times, then batton pass it to a Toxic Boost Zangoose, and it successfully gets poisoned, is the toxic boost ignored or is that a +7?

Both the +6 from Swords Dance and the Toxic Boost effect will apply because stat boosts and ability boost are calculated separately, excluding abilities like Simple and Unaware

Jolly Zangoose: 329, +6 makes it 1316, Toxic Boost makes it 1974
Adamant Zangoose: 361, +6 makes it 1444, Toxic Boost makes it 2166

wow... didnt expect it to be that powerful... thanks for the answer anyway

Also, can someone send me a link to a damage calculator that s more updated? the one i use doesnt have Toxic boost as an ability i can use

Toxic Boost and Guts are the exact same, except Guts only works with poison. Just use any calculator that has Guts.

new to the competitive scene, I want to focus on the OU metagame.

if I want to make a tier does this mean Im allowed to pick Pokemons from OU below in the B/W tier list. but cannot pick from the UBER tier?

Yes, you can always choose from tiers below the one you're playing in.

is there a sandstorm guide being written for 5th gen somewhere?

Here's a great link:

It's written by a Smogonite. (or smogoner?)

What would be a good partner for Metagross?

Some great partbers for metagross include Blissey, Dragonite, and Salamence. Here is the Metagross analysis if you want more info:

As for Ricky Horror, I don't know, and have been wondering that. Who does it?

Who runs the Tiering council?

I'm not sure what you're asking here... The OU council consists of Haunter, Earthwork, JabbaTheGriffin, Bloo, and aldaron. Contact one of those five if you have any specific questions that you, for some reason, can't ask in this thread. If you're wondering about who gives out Tiering Contributor badges, then you should know that JabbaTheGriffin, Oglemi, and Vader are the badgeleaders for that particular badge.

My wording was off. sorry I meant who it consists of. Which you answered. Thank you :) very helpful.

Got few questions here:

1.)If a Pokemon uses Solar Beam under the sun, but in the same turn opponent switches to auto weather inducer other than Ninetails/Vulpix or to a Pokemon with ability Cloud Nine, will Solar Beam attack in the same turn or only in the next turn?

2.)If 2 Pokemon speed is tied, how it is determined which of them will attack first? Is it random?

3.)Are there any random battle tournaments in Pokemon Showdown! or PO?
