I see.

So if Azelf is being used more than Virizion for the next 2 months, they'll switch tiers ? (Or at least Virizion to BL and Azelf OU?)

Sounds cool.

If Azelf's usage over the months of April, May, and June is over a certain threshold (I forget the exact number?) it will go to OU and similarly if Virizaion's is below that threshold it will go to UU. It won't go to BL automatically though of course if it is determined to be overpowered in UU it may be banned to BL.

@yyl012

I find that very unlikely to happen, don't worry. Your share shelf and stuff should all be fine too. It's not like they completely wipe the servers or something when they do maintenance.

What is the best ev spread for a standard chansey?
252hp 252 def and 4 spdef or 4hp 252def 252spdef?

Yeah there's a bit of debate on this one, same as there is with regards to Blissey's EV spread. 252 HP / 252 Def should only be run with a Bold nature, and gives maximum physical bulk for taking things like unboosted Outrages and the like. 252 Def / 252 SpD should only be run with a Calm nature (The earlier EV spread completely outclasses this one with Bold), and provides greater special defense but less physical defense than the above set.

Personally, for OU I'd recommend the physically defensive spread, as Chansey has ridiculous enough special bulk already that no special attacker is going to 2HKO it unless they're boosted to +6 or something anyway. On the other hand, Chansey is plenty likely to be called upon to take physical hits and will greatly appreciate the extra bulk it gets from max defense to do so. The specially defensive spread is primarily geared towards Ubers, where there are much more powerful special attacks to absorb, such as Kyogre's Water Spout, and the extra special defense is needed to avoid 2HKOs. Unlike Blissey, Chansey doesn't risk getting 2HKO'd by things such as Specs Toad Hydro Pump when it goes for maximum defense, so there's little need to invest in special defense in OU.

i heard they gave away an event chansey with wish, is it possible to breed that wish to other chansey?
No, you can only breed moves if they are on the egg move list (or level-up or TM, but obviously those are less important in most cases). If it were an egg move, then any father with Wish could pass it on so the event would be irrelevant, and female Pokémon can't pass egg moves regardless.

Also, just as a warning, the vast majority of Wish Chansey you will find (especially those with good IVs and/or shiny) are either hacked or Mimic glitched, and it's impossible to confirm any of them as legitimate since we don't really know how that event worked.

dammit... well thanks... ruined my dream blissey but thanks, and another question, cause blissey takes so long to hatch, would a relxrd nature be a better substitution if it takes far too long? and how many EVs does a stat drink (like protien and carbos) increase by?

i had been trying to stay away from this particular subject and i never was clear about this, but now i kinda have no choice...

can a pokemon still earn ev's at lvl 100?

well, a pokemon can always earn EVs, but since the introduction of the 5th generation the EVs can be used at lvl 100, so lets say you just recieved a lvl100 event arceus it can obtain and use the EVs when it gets them, unlike the old games when if you got the arceus you could EV train it, but not use it since the mechanics back then transferred your EVs to stat upon a lvl up

my bad, i didn't make it clear in the first place, sorry 'bout that :pirate:

basically, can a pkmn receive 252 ev's in one stat at lvl 100 unlike the 100ev's per stat back in 4th gen days?

oh so thats what you mean... well a stat has a max of 252 EVs and can put any number of EVs in that stat (as long as its divisable by 4 i believe) any pokemon can get 1-252 in any stat

Xinefere, no, it isn't just what you said. Firstly your information is wrong, a pokemon can have up to 255 EVs in one stat and can have 510 EVs in total. Secondly it is hardly concise. Point in case is above. Answer it in a short statement, not a poorly-explained essay.

I'm not critising you, and I did not ask for a quarrel; all I did was answer the question correctly. On the Simple Question, Simple Answer thread, you must make sure your answer is both right and simple. Posts like '...which is what I just said...' help nobody. I answered his question. When someone answers a question, even if it has been answered before, you don't post things like that. You don't malign those who give an answer alongside you. And even then, you don't post a reply like the one above insulting other members.

All I did was answer his question and correct yours. I don't think that deserves such a disrespectful reply, do you? If you don't care if your answer is wrong, don't answer the question. Good day.

To clarify what I think frogoholic is saying: your first post did answer Toon Abw's question, yes. But you started by picking on a technicality in how he worded it and kind of wrapped the answer he was actually looking for in the middle of it, and then his next post suggested that he didn't really get what you were trying to say. To avoid that confusion in the future, you should make the basic answer separate from the detailed explanation. Maybe write it as "Yes, <explanation>" or put a tl;dr at the end or something.

So.. in 5th gen I can actually EV train a lvl 100 Pokemon who has 0 EVs ?

So if my lvl 100 Tyranitar has no EVs, I can still EV train him without vitamins ?

Never knew that..

Yep, level 100 is trainable the same as any other level now. Of course, even if they hadn't changed that mechanic it'd still be doable with wings (but it'd take a lot longer).
