ok, im breeding a Skarmory, and all of a sudden, (while carrying aroud Magcargo) the eggs start hatching at 3220 steps rather than the normal 3570. roughly 10% less. thing is, this happened to me once before, when i was breeding Happiny a couple months back. ive tried putting in the same 'time conditions' aka calender date, but i couldnt get the hatching time to go back down. these short gaps (about a day) where hatching takes approx. 10% fewer steps is baffling me. what gives?

Same as pokemon bred in a flashcart, as long as you don't use pokesav to edit them in any way then there is no problem.
Many people here use R4 to breed/SR because it has a built-in AR functionality.
The only legit Jirachis that can be gotten multiple times are from the colosseum bonus disk. From what I've seen people here don't like pokemon captured in a place they are don't supposed to appear in and since Jirachi doesn't appear in the wild anywhere then it would be labeled as hacked.
Hacking event items to get pokemon like mew and darkrai is accepted by most people, unfortunately Jirachi does not appear in-game.

use an IV calculator like metalkid's calculator and lots of rare candies, once you know the exact IVs reset so that you don't lose the rare candies.
I don't hack... One of the parents I bred with was though, and I shall try to be more careful in the future. I was able to check this particulair Feebas ivs with a friend's ar, but I can't access it again, and I never wrote down the ivs.
I know several things.
It is Bold and Female.
Has HP Ghost
IS Somewhat Vain
Has satisfactory Ivs in HP, Atk, Def, Sp.atk, and Sp.def
