how important of a stat is salamence's speed in wifi
because i have a sassy salamence even though it has a 29 in speed
and 30 and 31 in atk and spatk respectively
i caught it and it seemed to be pretty good until i saw it was sassy
i dont feel like wasting time by walking thousands of steps to ge a right one, i mean as it stands now, my salamence still outspeeds my lucario?
and my lucario has a 29 in speed as well

so as long as im outspeeding base 90 pokemon, i should be good?

EV's don't round up or down. 4 EV's equal 1 stat. Any pokemon that gains exp gains EV(s). EV's don't get split like exp.

Where can you find the most earliest double battle? (after beating E4)

Do you mean the double battle with the lowest level pokemon? There is a couple of twins just south of Floaroma town with level 9 pokemon IIRC.

Well, Steelix is one of the most common physical walls in UU, Aggron is also a popular choice. These can both fuck clefable up fairly well so long as it does not have a fighting move.

As far as UU physical sweepers, The Hitmon family is a popular choice, the afformentioned Swellow, and Aerodactyl instantly come to mind. I've also seen a few DD Altarias, so try that out.

Edit: actually Tak, both can be used.

Ah, you misunderstood my question. I meant I needed something to counter Clefable as well as other physical attackers, particularly Swellow and the hitmon/primeape pokemon. I don't need any physical attackers for my team ;)

So any other suggestions? All the steels are beaten by the hitmons, and Weezing can't touch clefable from what I can tell.

Err... I was just on Shoddy testing stuff for WiFi. A guy continously used Pain Split with his Dusknoir and didn't damage my Magic Guard Clefable though it still healed him. If i remember correctly, Pain Split is still supposed to damage me (WiFi).
Is this supposed to happen on Shoddy or was I just not paying enough attention :/

Why isn't cradily listed as a Manectric counter? A max HP and special defense cradily takes 36.44% - 42.82% from choice specs overheat, and that is the best manectric can do to it.

Flamethrower does 21.54% - 25.53% and it resists thunderbolt, hyper beam AND isn't weak to the standard hiddden power (grass). It can even recover off damage and either set up (swords dance, stealth rock, stockpile, barrier or Amnesia) or threaten with super effective earthquake. Hidden power ice does only 32.18% - 38.03% with a life orb... If it gets its peteya boost, super effective hidden power does the same as choice specs overheat.

Test it again, if shoddy does something different than wifi then it is a bug. You can report bugs at the sourceforge project page, look for the option to make a bug report in shoddy.

It's about time Cradily got some mentioning:)

If you have an issue with an analysis, post a peer edit. This is not a simple question.

What makes a pokemon legit? I wanted to use an Action Replay but just for simple stuff like rare candies after EV training. Not to mess with stats. Does this still make my pokemon legit? Is using an Action Replay at all looked down upon? I've also heard it can ban me from online play and that at nintendo competions or whatever they can check to see that you've used an Action replay and disqualify you. What truth is there to this? Should I just avoid Action Replay all together?

Well some cheats that make a pokemon shiny or change its' IVs to all flawless, that is all 31's is considered making a pokemon hacked but if you use the AR to get Rare Candies I don't think that will make your pokemon hacked.

If you mean on the wifi section of smogon you should read this: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43268
For Nintendo tournaments is really hard to say, I've read that Nintendo can detect if you have used certain AR codes in your cart but I don't think anybody knows how precise is their hack checking. I haven't read anything about anybody getting disqualified in the recent world tournament.

Well the reason I'm concerned is that I was babysitting some kids one time, and one of them took my DS and Pearl game without asking and used his Action Replay when my back was turned. He did codes where I got the National Dex, alot of Rare Candies and all 493 pokemon. So I guess what I really want to know is if that is going to cause problems for me and if it would be best to either start over or buy Pokemon Diamond to play on, as it looks like AR is really looked down upon and I know I can get by without it.

I don't think that should be a problem.
I bet they use similar hack-checking methods as PBR.

Question: I eventually want to nickname my Staraptor ムクホーク, but I do not have a Japanese version of the game. Is there any way for someone to nickname my Staraptor without using PokeSav, and if so, would my Pokemon be considered "hacked" to the point that I cannot play PBR/Wi-Fi/Nintendo tourneys?

If you don't want to use pokesav with the pokemon itself then your best bet would be to ask somebody with a japanese version of the game to nickname the pokemon for you. They would have to change their own OT and secret ID with pokesav to match yours to be able to do that but they woulldn't modify your pokemon in any way so I think it is safe.

I'm not sure if this is the place for it, but here's my question:

I keep trying to download Shoddy Battle and whichever way I try it I'm not getting the message to "run" it or not, I'm just getting all these codes such as:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://shoddybattle.com/client/" href="shoddybattle.jnlp">

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Sorry, just one last question. If I do decide to start over on my game then all of the Action Replay data should be gone, right? The game and cartridge will be as if AR was never used on it, correct? AR wouldn't be detectable?

It should be clean, unless you really screwed up.

Just a random game mechanics question I was wondering. Let's say this scenario has occured
Pokemon A used Taunt
Pokemon B used Hypnosis , but Taunt prevent Hypnosis (or whatever it says)

Pokemon A used Encore
Pokemon B used ??

Does Pokemon B use Hypnosis or does Pokemon B used Struggle?
