grass vs electric in UU basically comes down to whether you're worried about quagsire and gastrodon more than mantine or not.

personally, i never see many mantine compared to gastrodon, but i havent played much in a little while so it could've changed

Don't forget Lanturn! Water / Ice / Grass has perfect coverage, while Water / Ice / Electric is all resisted by Lanturn.

i need some help on this Dragonite Set
currently i have

Dragonite @ Yache Berry
Adamant
240 Atk/ 192 Speed/ 76 SpDef
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Roost
-Outrage

I dont know if the Ev's given allow me to survive ice beams, but the reason why i chose this over Salamence was because

1. Dragonite can take hits better
2. Salamence doesnt have Outrage, yet
3. With Salamence, i had to choose a -Def nature but Dragonite's SpAtk is relatively low, although ill have problems with Skarmory and Forrestress without Fire Blast, so would anyone suggest going Lonely, and Fire Blast instead of Roost?
Roost helps make it a single weakness rather than 4x

so my strategy is, half my team is weak to megahorn
so i come in on Choice Megahorn or EQ or another one of Dragonite's useful resistances
I dd on the switch, Yache buys me another DD, so thats like 1 Agility
Ill be faster than everything, and its time for some Outraging

so
1. Should i go with Lonely Fire Blast
2. Do you guys like the current EV Spread
3. Is it better than Salamence, or at least not clear cut worse?

I'm starting to wonder why Flash Cannon isn't used on Starmie often. While Steel is a poor offensive type, it can dent Ice-types such as Weavile, Regice, and Abomasnow, all scoring strong super-effective damage on Starmie. Should I use it? Would you use?

Boltbeam/Surf gives more coverage for the types that appear more often. Besides the two pokemon you've mentioned above (Starmie shouldn't be staying in on Regice) that's all Flash Cannon is going to cover.

You don't switch Weavile into a Starmie, you use it to revenge kill.
But Iv'e already used my Grass Knot TM...oh, Psychic. Surf is stronger against Tyranitar thanks to STAB, so isn't Psychic the better option?
Oh, and but the boltbeam suggestion-is there such a thing as a Starmie set without Ice Beam? It's maybe more important than Surf...

2.IF you are going for 2 DD's, personally, I think the lowering in Speed EVs is well done, because you won't need as much if you get 2 DD's, and SpD is a good choice to give them to.
3. Not better because always in some circumstances it will be better, but not worse, (actually I am pro-Dragonite).

I've a question. When we get around to testing SR, and should it be banned, would it automatically be banned in doubles as well without testing it there? I ask because standard and 2v2 are vastly different metagames, and SR is almost non-existent there.

I think it will only be banned in 6 vs. 6, because that's the only metagame format we have conducted testing on so far. In Doubles there aren't many switches anyway since it's very fast paced, so I don't think Stealth Rock is too much of an issue there.

It's too bad that singles is Smogon's main focus when Nintendo seems to solely endorse doubles matches.

Alright, since I'm a naive nature... (Rimshot!) I'll just flat out ask: Am I correct in assuming (for planning teams) that every sane/competent player with a physical attacker will have a fighting or ground move on it?

Well, kinda
Scizor instantly comes to mind, but most physical sweepers do carry a Fighting or ground move.

Yes, most physical attackers will carry a move of one of those types.

The only exception I can think of might be Metagross and Gyarados, but they carry Earthquake sometimes.
