Can breed my Machop with another Machop to pass down the trait right?

No. You can only pass moves common to both, TMs learned by the male, and if the female is holding an Everstone, a 50% of passing down the female's nature, but not abilities (unless you were meaning Natures, in which case I just answered it anyway ._.).

if a pokemon is holding a power item (lens, etc.), and it switches out and the second pokemon KOs the opponent, does the first pokemon still get the effect of the power item?

Part 1:

The rest are linked internally. Hope that was what you were looking for.

I will give it a read and soon find out. Thank you. ^_^

In addition, must I have a certain post count before I may have a signature? You see, I have a simple question about my team, but I would really hate to link to it, which I am not exactly certain is allowed.

Yes, indeed. So, in this instance, should a Porygon holding a Power Lens switch out from a pokemon that gives, let's say, 1 SpAtk EV, and said pokémon is defeated by the next pokémon sent into battle, Porygon would then gain 5 SpAtk EVs.

='[ I actually don't want that. My Azelf already got 252 SP.ATK IVs and I forgot to switch the Lens to the Anklet. I battling the Magikarp guy next to Eterna City. What should I do?

So... You are saying that, after obtaining 252 SpAtk EV's with Azelf holding a Power Lens, you then began battling Magikarp with the same Azelf, leaving the Power Lens equipped?

If that's the case, unless you really don't care about that extra 1 point in whatever, you have to give it a Berry to drop the SpAtk EVs back down to 100 and start over again.

I know, huge pain in the ass. It happened to me FOUR TIMES with a Rampardos, never made the same mistake again...

Correct. If your Azelf is going to be a Focus Sash variant, however, it probably is not worth the effort for that one extra point.

I'm wondering how Metagross stacks up against Gliscor. Can someone help me out? I wanna know my chance for beating it, one on one...

If I'm running the standard "agiligross" set... will Ice Punch OHKO it? Will I outspeed it w/o an Agility? Will EQ OHKO me?

Thanks for any help. =0

If I trade over a soft resetable Pokemon to a game which has yet to catch that Pokemon, will any of its attributes be set in stone?
For example: If I send an Uxie from my Diamond to my Platinum, will the Uxie yet to be caught in Platinum have a set nature and IVs?

Sorry if this question sounds confusing or dumb, I just really want this Pokedex done.

This will have no effect on your Platinum Pixies. So go ahead and trade em over for the Pokedex Completion. :)

How do I check the nature of an egg in D/P in the PC?

First, deposit the egg next to a pokémon. As you will notice, if you leave the cursor over a normal pokémon for a length of time, under the pokémon it will show its item, then its type(s), then nature. Put the cursor over the pokémon next to the egg and count to five before switching the cursor over to the egg. If timed correctly, you should be able to see the nature of the pokémon within the egg.

Since most Gliscor will usually be running a Jolly, Impish, or Adamant nature and just enough Speed EV's (216) to outrun Adamant (or Jolly) Lucario, Metagross should outspeed Gliscor after an Agility as long as it's running a minimum of 58 Speed EV's, which puts him at 318 Speed after an Agility. This allows Metagross to outrun all Gliscor that aren't Scarfed or hasn't had any stat boosts in Speed. Ice Punch will usually not OHKO Gliscor, but it will definitely 2HKO at all times. If Stealth Rock is down, then a KO can be caused after one hit. Earthquake shouldn't OHKO Metagross as long as Gliscor hasn't done any Swords Dances yet and Metagross is at reasonable health.

How do I give Zapdos a legal IV set that has Hidden power Ice on Shoddy?

It depends on the nature. Here is a list of legal IVs with any nature you are likely to be using with HP Ice (any IVs not mentioned should be 31):

Bold: 10 Atk / 30 Def
Brave: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 29 Spe (64 base power)
Calm: 8 Atk / 30 Def (68 base power)
Hasty: 27 HP / 30 Atk / 30 Def
Mild: 30 Atk / 26 Def
Modest: 10 Atk / 30 Def
Naive: 30 Atk / 30 Def
Naughty: 30 Atk / 30 Def
Quiet: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 27 Spe
Rash: 30 Atk / 30 Def
Relaxed: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 27 SpD / 27 Spe
Sassy: 30 Atk / 30 Def / 27 Spe
Timid: 22 Atk / 30 Def
I was actually preparing an article on this topic, but gave it up because it didn't seem like there was much application. Being able to answer this question so fully makes me want to finish it though.

I've looked at the EV guide on this site, and just want to clear a few things up.

You can only gain 510 EV per pokemon, and 255 per stat, from what I can make out, also Vitamins only work for the first 100 EVs in each stat.

To me, this means that using vitamins on all of a pokemon's statistics will be rather foolish, as that would use all of the alloted EV points available to each pokemon. Am I right with this train of thought?

Great. Thanks for clearing that up

Edit: Seems the thread I made in Wi-Fi forum was deleted, I guess I should've asked here in the first place.

Am I right in thinking that using Action Replay to catch non-legendaries is frowned upon in the copetitive community?

E.g. Using it to catch a Squirtle/Torchic
