ColdEye, why don't you just use the analysis pages? The Contributions & Corrections folks usually do a good job keeping them up to date with the latest movesets.
 
Is there a legit way to see the dogs or the Johto startes in DPPt? Or is there no way to legitly find them on wifi without going through the Emerald headache?
 
I recently got an idea to make a team of six classic Pokemon used by Ash in the original Pokemon series. This team would be meant for competitive, OU play. However, this does not mean that all of the Pokemon on the team would be OU. In fact, I would like to use a variety of OU and UU/NU Pokemon.

I was not a fan of the Pokemon TV shows so I have never watched any of them. I would appreciate it if anyone reading this could list all of the Pokemon commonly used by Ash in the original TV series. This means Pokemon like Pikachu and Snorlax. Please list only the full evolution of the Pokemon (Pikachu exluded due to Light Ball). Along with Pokemon lists, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Bulbapedia's Ash Ketchum article lists every Pokemon Ash has ever used. I'm 99.9% sure that the list is comprehensive.

Also, ChouToshio has written some war stories using Ash-themed teams. Maybe that will give you some ideas.
 
OK I'm playing platinum and I've just got up to Giratina in the distortion world. What's the best way to reset for it, should I go all the way back out and get a synchronizer and a 5 pokemon party and keep masterballing it? Is there some kind of easier way?
 
I know that there is a topic for emerald listing all of the possible battle frontier pokemon. Is there a topic yet for Platinum listing all of the different pokemon in the battle frontier as well? if so, can you please provide the link?

Excluding things that either he had for less than an episode or aren't really his and in roughly chronological order: Pikachu, Butterfree(released), Pidgeot (released), Bulbasaur (Venusaur), Squirtle (Blastoise), Charizard, Kingler, Primape, Muk, Tauros, Lapras (released), Snorlax*, Heracross*, Cyndaquil (Typhlosion), Bayleef (Meganium), Totodile (Feraligatr), Noctowl, Donphan, Corphish (Crawdaunt), Sceptile, Torkoal, Swellow, Glalie, Ambipom (he traded it away to Dawn though), Staraptor, Grotle (Torterra), Chimchar (Infernape)*, Buizel (Floatzel), Gliscor*.

I don't really have recommendations on who to use, but I labelled the pokemon who are in OU with an asterisk (*).
 
Quick Q: How many speed evs would Gyarados have to be running to NOT outspeed max+ speed Zapdos after one dd? Is this a common amount (if it's not like negative, or something)?

Just curious because I'm deciding whether my max+ speed zapdos is a good enough Gyarados switch-in, since most use DD on the switch.
 
Does anyone know how to get Mime Jr. or Bonsly in platinum besides the trophy garden?

I try breeding Sudowoodo and Mr. mime but I always end up getting just another Sudowoodo or Mr. Mime.

Do they need to be holding something?

Mr. Mime needs to be holding the Odd Incense (in the Solaceon Ruins), and Sudowoodo needs to hold the Rock Incense (Fuego Ironworks).

A max Speed Zapdos hits 328; Gyarados needs 84 EVs to hit that Speed after a DD. According to the latest usage statistics, over 80% of Gyarados last month ran at least 100 Speed EVs. (The current BulkyGyara standard is 144 EVs.)

In other words, max Speed Zapdos is doomed 80% of the time against most Gyarados after a DD. (Almost 60% of Gyarados last month ran Stone Edge.)

Thanks, that answers it. Think a defensive celebi set w/ grass knot would be enough of a counter to gyara then?

Run away from it, then it'll be in Turnabout Cave like it was in D/P. You can soft reset there.
 
Other pokemon with the same base speed like other mences :(

Edit: thanks supermarth64. Are you 100% certain it won't keep the same ivs etc as the one in the distortion world?

thanks.. anyway I found the speed tier i forget existed >.<... and found that the only thing that is life treating not to outspeed is another salamence like you said...and kingdra with a + speed nature ...

so im going to keep it anyway

Giratina in Turnback cave in Platinum doesn't keep same IVs/nature as it was in Distortion World, I know this because I was SRing Giratina in Turnback cave.
