I have a question.

Let's say my Gligar has been burned by Will-O-Wisp, I know that it will cut its Attack. But, what if I Baton Pass it to a Pokemon like Gorebyss, and Gorebyss uses Refresh. Does Gorebyss' Attack stat come back to normal, or is still cut?

I believe Baton Pass will not pass the attack drop from Burn, since it is a side effect of the status, with its own expression in the damage formula. In other words, Burn does not reduce your attack, it halves the actual physical damage dealt by the affected Pokemon. Since BP doesn't pass the burn, it doesn't pass the damage reduction. Make sense?

EDIT: damn, ninja'd

Why do people think that dragonite might get e-speed/curse in hgss. Is it people just hoping for good move tutors or has something been leaked?

Wishful thinking, mostly. Curse was a GSC TM (Dragonite could learn it) and a Dratini with Extremespeed was given to you in Crystal by Clair if you answered her questions correctly. I haven't heard any news regarding move tutors, though. I think you don't get information on those moves until the game is released, typically.

Which attack would be better on a Machamp with 0 Speed EV's and very low Speed IV's: Ice Punch or Avalanche?
Avlanche, though low speed Machamp isn't very useful on TR teams if that's your plan; there's typically somehting slowwer and stronger.

quick questions, although, it might sound noobish

1. Lets say, my togekiss, uses rest, and then psycho shift, will it still use psycho shift, even though it is still asleep?

2. Lets say i use a flame orb on flareon, will it be burned, or will it get its flash fire boost?

3. Lets say i use a flame/toxic orb on a synchronize pokemon, will the ability activate and be used on the enemy? I know toxic and will-o-wisp do better, but i am afraid of thier shakey accuracy, and im just curious.

1. Lets say, my togekiss, uses rest, and then psycho shift, will it still use psycho shift, even though it is still asleep?

I believe the Togekiss will simply remain asleep.

2. Lets say i use a flame orb on flareon, will it be burned, or will it get its flash fire boost?

Flash Fire activates when a pokemon is struck by a Fire-type move, and all Fire-types (including Flareon) cannot be burned.

3. Lets say i use a flame/toxic orb on a synchronize pokemon, will the ability activate and be used on the enemy? I know toxic and will-o-wisp do better, but i am afraid of thier shakey accuracy, and im just curious.

I tried this once and it didn't work; most synchronise pokemon also have Trick, so you could try tricking the Orb onto the opponent if you are worried about accuracy issues.

alright thanks

did anyone test if sleep can be psycho shifted?

I need a sandstormer for my defensive Gliscor. Any suggestions? I thought heavily about Tyranitar, but then that also made me want a Gliscor with swords dance and baton pass for him. I'm not sure what I want to do at all; I just know I want a defensive Gliscor and to make use of sand veil. My team is currently:

Gliscor
Weavile
Gengar
Tentacruel
Vaporeon
_________

Hippowdon or Tyranitar make excellent sand stream pokemon.

Haha, that's great. :P

Back on the subject of faulty GTS, I asked several questions about it in the past but basically nobody short of 1 or 2 replied. Now, my question is are Game Freak/Nintendo aware of this problem? Will they try to fix it?

I doubt it, since HG/SS will probably have their own GTS (that hopefully works).

I'm sorry, I just realized I worded the question poorly. I want to make use of Sand Veil, gliscor's 20% evasion in a sand storm. I don't have to have Sand Stream, but it would be nice. Those two do already seem like the best choices, but I want to know if there's any other good way to get a sand storm in for gliscor and have a good team makeup.

Getting Sandstorm in the form of Tyranitar and Hippowdon's abilities is really the best way. Having the move wastes a moveslot, not to mention an item if you choose to go with the Smooth Rock.

Thanks, I'd like to go with Hippowdon; Is it a bad idea to have 2 defensive pokemon like that on a team? a wall hippowdon and a defensive gliscor? Or will that work out just fine?

Can Spike and Toxic Spike affect a Flying-type or a Levitator that uses Roost?

I don't think so, considering you can't be roosted when you switch in.

Well, looking at your team, it just looks like a mish-mash. It has 4 members having basically only the Ground and Water type that are stall based, and two fast and frail sweepers. I think you would do better to just go with an all-out bulky Sandstorm/Stall team, abusing things like the Rock-type's Sp. Def boost and steady residual damage to a lot of things.

Well it looks like mish-mash because it pretty much is, I haven't taken a good hard look at it overall. I have no problem with completely changing it, Weavile and Gengar are the only 2 members I have completely finished. Should I drop weavile and get Tyranitar?

Gliscor for defense
Tyranitar for physical sweeping and supplying Gliscor with sandstorm
Tentacruel for special def. and toxic spikes, and rapid spin
Gengar for Sp. sweeping
And that leaves the other two slots for... what? Another bulky physical sweeper? I'm not sure what really makes a good, balanced team. I suppose different types?

Yes, weavile seems so out of place on a sandstorm team and you'd be better off having tyranitar acting as your lead which will allow you to get sandstorm up first turn to help out your other pokes, in particular gliscor. You really should rebuild your team to what Scepticallistic said because having tyranitar set up sandstorm for just one pokemon is kind of pointless when it's not benefitting your other team members.

Is nasty plot really useful for infernape anymore because I heard that it's difficult to setup or should i go with hp ice?

If it is useful, can you guys explain how or show a vid of it in action?

In my hyper-offense team I use NP Infernape with a sash. Come in on like Blissey or something else that gets scared away by it, set up on the switch. I use mine with Grass Knot to scare away Swampert and other Bulky Waters.
