If a Blissey uses Wish, and switches out, will the recipient of said Wish be healed by half of Blissey's HP, or by half of the actual Pokemon's HP?

It's half of the actual Pokemon's HP. So a Suicune with max HP would get healed 202 HP instead of the 300+ that it would get healed otherwise.

In HGSS?

HP - Slopoke @ Slopoke Cave
Attk - Goldeen @ Route 42 (Surf)
Def - Geodude, Gligar, Graveler @ Route 45
SpA - Bell Tower (Night)
SpD - Tentacruel @ Route 34
Spe - Magikarp
For HP, I prefer surfing in the first room of the Union Cave. Only Woopers and Quagsires appear there, and the latter give 2 HP EVs instead of just one.

Concerning speed, do you surf on the Lake of Rage for that one? That looks like the best option, as they have a 90% encounter rate there, but last time I Speed EV trained, I went near the power plant. Everything there gives speed EVs, except at night when Quagsires come by to mess everything up. (BTW, the Fearows and Electabuzzes near the power plant give 2 EVs for speed).

lol i forgot to put for what game. but yea for HG/SS

but..... Magikarp for speed EVs? Thats a new one to me.
Magikarp have a speed of 80. They're remarkably fast for being otherwise retarded pokemon.

Also someone really should make a FAQ for the 4th gen games so that people wouldn't have to ask this. There should be one thread where anyone can go and check for what spot to EV train, etc.
I keep recommending the same FAQ I found on GameFAQs. I would guess it's copyrighted, though, so I can't exactly repost it here.

I'm guessing it is based on the speed or the animation is opposing to each player. But I know for sure that all abilities and any other effects are cancelled when double switching!
Concerning the deal with abilities possibly preventing escape, he's actually already devised a solution by testing it against his cousin. The trapping abilities do not come into play until the following turn. Or at the end of the turn. Same diff, I guess.

EDIT:

Hey, I got a question: what would be considered the definition of a "legit hack." Would that be using a third-party device to modify a game in a manner to simply shortcut what anyone could do legitimately? Anything else considered a "legit hack?" How would a legit hack be considered different from any other hack? What's this community's stance on the above?

Sorry about not running a search on it, but every time I run a search on these forums, it always returns a fatal error.

@Eggbert: http://www.serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/legends.shtml

anyway, my question: how the hell do you get breed moves on a Tyrogue (like Mach Punch)? The baby is always the same species as the female, and it gets it breed moves from the father, right? So, theoretically, if you breed a female Hitmon with a male Infernape w/Mach Punch, you hatch a baby Ty with the move. But the entire Hitmon evolutionary chain is male only. So how can Tyrogue have breed moves?

You have to breed it with ditto. It gets all of its egg moves through the hitmons. This is why hitmonchan and hitmonlee get rapid spin and why hitmontop/hitmonlee get mach punch, etc. They are egg moves.

You can breed a Hitmon with a Ditto to get a baby Tyrogue. Each of Tyrogue's egg moves is learned as a level up move by one of them but not the other two. It just lets you get egg moves on certain Hitmons that they wouldn't normally be able to get.

So, what you're saying is that I breed with a Ditto, get a Tyrogue, and whatever it evolves into learns exclusive egg moves on level up? Like, Hitmontop would learn Mach Punch on level up if his origins were from an egg?

No. You breed something like a Hitmonchan with Mach Punch with a Ditto, and the offspring Tyrogue will have Mach Punch as an egg move.

No, no. If you breed a Hitmonchan that knows Mach Punch, then the Tyrogue will be born knowing Mach Punch and will be able to become a Hitmontop that knows Mach Punch.

Is it possible to win a shiny stone (or any stone other than the sun stone) for coming in 1st place in the bug catching contest (pre-NatDex)? If so, how?

Once you have fully EVed it, it's completly safe to use Rare Candies. You can even use them before, just make sure you finish EVing before getting to level 100.

I using rare candy instead of regular training that bad for the pokemon stats? even when properly EV'd?
After EV training you can spam Rare Candies as much as you want! It's the same as leveling up by gaining Exp.

Yup, you've to come first of course and the stone is based on the Pokemon you catch in the contest!

So, I think I have figured out two more members of my team. As it currently stands, this team below is the team I am using for the Battle Frontier, and fighting my friends.

PorygonZ@Choice Specs/Scarf
Modest | Download
252 SpAtt, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Ivs: 30/13/30/26/10/31
Thunderbolt | Ice Beam | Psychic | Tri Attack

Special Sweeper. Currently at a 90 streak in the Hall, at a stop because I think I need to teach it Aerial Ace in order to take down Ghost (Shedinja :[). I alternate between specs and scarf.

Infernape@Life Orb
Jolly | Blaze
Ivs: 30/23/17/0/23/31
252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP
Flare Blitz | Close Combat | Mach Punch | Stone Edge

Physical Sweeper, still getting the points together for a Stone Edge TM. Hasn't gotten tested yet, been figuring out my last member.

Dusknoir@Expert Belt/Leftovers
Adamant | Levitate
252 HP, 252 Attack, 6 Def
Ivs: 31/31/29/6/10/31
Thunderpunch | Earthquake| Shadow Punch | Will-o-Wisp

Wall/attacker. Primarily used to take hits. With the correct Ivs, he will break 300 defenses and reach max attack. I put Thunderpunch over Pain Split because otherwise he would be completely walled by most Flying types, considering most are normal.

Now, I have REALLY wanted to create a Tangrowth for a very long time. I love its base stats, and its movepool is very appeasing. I am quite torn, however..

What I plan to do is introduce a team member to set up Rocks, and have a Heat Rock/Sunny Day to support Tangrowth. So far, none of my team members would have a problem in the sun(I think PorygonZ's Ice Beam would weaken, but..). If I created a Bronzong lead..

Bronzong@Heat Rock
Impish | Levitate
252 HP, 128 Defense, 128 SpD
IVs: 31 in HP, 31 in Defenses
Sunny Day | Stealth Rock | Light Screen | Explosion

Basically, I begin the match with Bronzong, who sets up Rocks, followed by Sunny Day, and depending on the threat, Light Screen. Light Screen is for Tangrowths horrible SpD, so it would be better then Reflect. Proceed to Explode/Switch to Tangrowth.

This is a hard one for me. I am torn between making Tangrowth an annoyer or a Swords Dance set. If I ran the Swords Dance Set, I would like to try to run Knock Off/Swords Dance/Power Whip/Sleep Powder. However, you can see the problem, because I am torn between Knock Off and another attacking move such as Earthquake/Brick Break/Rock Slide/Aerial Ace. So, as a rough draft..

Tangrowth@Life Orb/Expert Belt
Impish | Chlorophyll
IVs: Difficult; 31 In HP, Attack, and Def? Speed as Well?
252 HP, 252 Attack? 6 Speed
Swords Dance | Power Whip | Sleep Powder | ?

Tangrowth needs some tweaking, and I would love any advice anyone could offer me. I also need to figure out my 6th team member. I originally planned to use Vaporeon or Milotic, but running Sunny Day means those two wouldn't fare so well. Any suggestions?

Stealth Rock is completely useless in the Battle Fronteir since it will only actually do damage twice because your opponent doesn't switch.

Thanks, I was getting tired of training with EXP Share and then having to reset EV's and EV train :3

I think Bronzong/Tangrowth is more along the lines to have a full team to battle my friends with. I wouldn't use Bronzong in the frontier..I'd doubt even Tangrowth would go in.

Yup, you've to come first of course and the stone is based on the Pokemon you catch in the contest!
Do you know which Pokemon corresponds to the shiny stone? I've caught beedrill, pinsir, scyther, and I think weedle and everytime I got a sun stone.

you can only get the other stones after you get the national dex, and its completely random.

You've just been lied to. Before you get the National Dex, you can't get anything other than the Sun Stone as 1st prize. Even when you can get other stones, it's completely random.
