There's another thing to consider. Darkblader mentioned seeing a trend on his Shroomishes with Effect Spore versus Poison Heal based on the parent being bred. I'm not sure what parents he was using or their items. As for me, I was using an Inner Focus Alakazam and breeding it with a Timid Ditto @ Everstone. Of the four offspring, I got two timid Abras, and two Synchronize Abras. Only one of the two Synchronize Abras was timid.I'm pretty sure that the PID is independent of the parents; you can trivially test this by RNGing for it. The PID that comes up from a given RNG seed is the same no matter which parents you used (so long as you don't use an Everstone, or international parents). There's still a possibility that there's some item that makes a parent more likely to pass down its ability, though.
Does Gravity increase the accuracy of OHKO moves and if so by how much?
It's for in game btw I know they're banned.
What would be a good doubles team for a flat battle? Rules are 2 ubers allowed per team (Latias included), Soul dew is the only item that is banned, and 4v4 (enter 6 in tournament decide which to enter every battle).
Ummm, no. Ubers on a team make it an ubers team. Period. Sorry, but omitting two spaces on your team and using ubers is not allowed.
As mentioned, this is "VGC rules", pretty much (do you have Item Clause too, like VGC rules do?) You might want to check out some teams other people use for that ruleset; there's a whole VGC forum here on Smogon (look at the warstories; many people posted their teams in them); or there'll be some teams you can look at in the non-OU RMT forum (look for teams with "VGC" in the title). Common strategies involve weather (most competent VGCers dedicate several team slots to screwing up enemy weather strategies because it's just that strong in VGC if the opponent doesn't prepare for it), pretty much any other field effect you could name (Trick Room being the strongest non-weather effect), and hyperoffensive teams. Gimmicks are also a lot more viable under VGC rules than they are in regular play, by the way; people have done well with such weird things as Parasect and Skill Swap Blissey (not on the same team, though!), and there's a decent chance you'll come up against a Shedinja. What would be a good doubles team for a flat battle? then it's 558. It's not that hard to calculate it, agility just doubles the actual Speed stat of the user.
Alright, thx. I wasn't sure b/c I last ran a Tailwind Team, and several Pokemon have different speeds between Tailwind and Agility boosts.
I put the exact stats and nature into the calculator, it hadn't any experience and it was the same level it was 'caught' at....they came up as 30 (in an IV battle), maybe D/P could have 30s and PT have 31s? I did read somewhere (I'm sure it was an official source) that the PT Elite Four was stronger than the D/P ones.Cynthia's Pokemon have 31 all over the board.
If you want hard counters to Mence, Cresselia with Ice Beam hard-counters all the standard sets; Porygon2 or Gardevoir with Sitrus Berry are also almost hard counters (they can withstand any two moves from standard Mences except Fire Blast and Draco Meteor in that order, and can OHKO back). On the other hand, the issue with counters that hard is that they generally don't do anything else... (At least this isn't as bad with the situation with Garchomp, which needed ridiculous things like Choice Scarf Cresselia or Cloyster to counter...)
I guess my next question is what is going on with the abilities section of smogon? I get an unhandled exception error attempting to access any of them. Is there anyway to access the info at all?
Not right now, sorry. chaos should be on to deal with it as soon as he can. As an interim measure, try Bulbapedia?
