No thoughts on my zapdos?

Modest

HP: 24-25
Atk: 28-29
Def: 16-17
Sp.Atk: 30-31
Sp.Def: 16-17
Speed: 24-25

Good enough for competitive play? Should I try for a higher speed/defense spread?

Well, the modest sets tend to run max speed, don't they? In order to make up the lost 7 speed IVs, you'll need 28 EVs, so any set that requires more than 224 Speed EVs won't be feasible.

Secondly, HP is too low for you to reach Zapdos' highest magic HP.

Finally, I tend to think of Zapdos as kinda bulky. I would hold out for higher defensive stats.

But that's just my opinion.

Edit: Also, did I miss something? Aren't these posts supposed to go in the Discuss My Pokemon thread?

Same Type Attack Bonus. If a pokemon uses a move that has the same type as the pokemon, that move's power is increased by 50% (x1.5).

I say thats a pretty frikin sweet Zapdos...I'd just do a typical sweeper spread.
I usually aim for perfect, or just about near perfect but with him being a legendary you can't get much better than that, aside from a huge stroke of luck or an enormous amount of time, or RNG haha.

Rotom Question..

Hi everyone,

So I decided the other day to make a Rotom-W as part of a team to take down the battle frontier. I bred out a nice IV'd Rotom, and started EV training it this afternoon. While browsing Bulbapedia, I found out that you can't use Rotom forms in the Frontier.

I do not understand why you can't bring the forms in the frontier..? I read up on why you can't bring it online battling, but why did Gamefreak implement these forms if you can't use them anywhere?

You're reading it wrong, they are banned in the Battle Frontier, along with all legendary Pokémon outside of duos or trios such as Latios and Latias, or Entei Raikou and Suicune.

No, I understand that they are banned in the frontier, that is what I ment when I said you can't use them inside.

What I do not understand is why you can't use them in the Frontier.

rotom forms can be considered event pokemons(shit like mew, arceus, etc) and thus cant be used on the battle frontier or from any place far away.

I put my Starmie onto my Platinum to earn it a few ribbons, its from a far away place and I got the 'defeat the brain' one.
But I say they ban them due to 'cheapness'.....since its a legendary and all, just don't know why they let you have duos and trios.

Is there a proper thread where I should post this glitch I discovered in Heartgold/Soulsilver? I don't know if anyone else has discovered it but it is very useful for extending swarms:

I just discovered a neat glitch for keeping a swarm of pokemon active for more than one day:

- Save the game on a day where the swarm of pokemon you want is active
- When it is the next day or a few days over, reset the clock on your DS backwards to before midnight.
- Turn on your game, check and the swarm of pokemon you want should still be active. However since you reset the time but not the day, the game will keep the current day yet will have that swarm from the previous day today.
- Save your game
- Change your clock back to the proper time.

I noticed this when I realized I had missed the Chansey Swarm yesterday, it was around 12:30 am so I reset my clock to 11:30 PM, turned on my game but realized that the pokegear was saying it was 11:30 PM on Friday and not Thursday since the Calendar day changes separately. Noticed I still had a swarm of Chansey, I then saved my game, set the clock correctly to 12:40 and then saw I still had a Chansey swarm as a result (instead of the Baltoy swarm that was suppose to come the next day).

Should Steadfast be used on Lucario?

Acrually, steadfast is actually preferred! Because of the speed boost, youll strike first anyway. So either you don't flinch, get the attack in, and are revenge killed, or you take the flinch, then kill, and rampage through their whole team.
Which do you want?

It doesn't really make any sense.
You also can't use them for online battle.

rotom is not a legendary, let me explain to you.

to get rotom forms, you need a item that can only be acessed by a special event, just like shaymin and oak letter and etc, for that reason the rotom forms are banned on the battle tower, because they are considered event-only pokemons, if you get a starmie from a event or whatever then you can use, since they ban the specific pokemon species, not because of the place they came from.

Max Atk and Max HP should suffice, since you're not really going to outspeed much even with Jolly and Max Speed. And you shouldn't be using Jolly anyway.

Can anyone tell me an EV spread for a 4 attack lead machamp? (Dynamic punch, payback, stone edge, bullet punch)

use 252 hp, 240 atack and 16 special defense with adamant, its the best one there is, also replace stone edge for ice punch so that you ohko mence and gliscor(somewhat common lead)

Yes, all of the pinch berries tend to come from the console games.
But now the six stat berries can also be found on National Dex Pokewalker routes. Quite handy since I've found it really hard to get all the berries from PBR because they're really expensive and the various Colosseums level up as you keep beating them. I'd need an Ubers team to continue to compete.

This is really quite wrong. Though it is unlikely to make much of a difference, the opponent will only flinch you if they want to flinch you. Attacks from things like Scarf Togekiss are not things you should be taking, and Scarf Jirachi even outruns you after a speed boost. This means it can hit you twice, and as such you may lose a considerable amount of health, putting you in KO range for a variety of priority attacks.
