I'm not sure if this has been decided yet, but after the four weeks of non-Salamence laddering, how long do you suppose it would take for the Council to come to a decision concerning its Uberness? I ask partly because I wasn't around for the Garchomp fiasco, and Salamence is the most controversial Suspect since then... and partly because I'm terrible with remembering dates, so I forgot when the Suspect ladder opened. =(

It say on the smogon pokedex in the charizard move page that he could learn quick attack, but in shoddy they dont show it or on serebii, so could he learn it and how do you give it to him?

It never could use Quick attack, use bulbapedia better for move sets

iirc charmander gets it from some japanese PC event in 2008
edit: yah, confirmed the above. the event ran from july 08 to 09

I would like to have a list of Pokemon in Platinum that are easier to chain or competitively appealling. I only know some, which I am listing here: (some pokeball suggestion as well, I mean, nice looking ones)

Shinx - easy because of static (after 40 static doesn't even matter) (ultra ball?)
Magnemite - same as above(Timer ball)
Machop - slightly harder, still easy (Dusk Ball)

Beldum - yup... when the swarm comes in the chain itself is actually pretty easy, it's just that SS and catch rate that makes it hard (Quick Ball is the best looking IMO, the cross looks like Metragross)

Can anyone suggest some more for me? Thanks

EDIT: How can I know my secret ID if I have no action replay / non-chained shinies. I've heard that a long chain of shines could work as well, any help on that?

But you can't change the nickname on someone else's Pokémon.

I really need to know if I can play with them. :/
If you really care that much about other people's Pokémon's nicknames, you can start a new game and RNG for the trainer ID to trick the game into thinking that they're yours. I can't see any obvious reason why you'd be blacklisted for using a Pokémon with a foreign nickname, though, unless it actually was hacked; the nickname of a Pokémon has no influence on whether it's hacked or not. (Can you point to the rule that you're worried about breaking? I don't play wi-fi competitively at the moment, but I've never seen such a rule; of course, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.)

Then you've got it all wrong. I can't change the nickname of a event-Pokémon. That's the problem. It's supposed to be japanese names on them. The japanese names for Raikou, Entei, Suicune and Celebi.
And I used Pokésav to create them. They're legal except the the names and OT. Because Pokésav can't handle japanese letters for some reason. It ends up like questionmarks instead.

So what is the best way to chain breed Pokemon like Magby, Elekid, Togepi, etc. that can't breed themselves?

I want to chain breed a Modest Magby, and right now I am thinking of finding a Pokemon with a 31 Special Attack IV and chain breeding that onto a Magmar, then getting a bunch of Magbys until I can find one that is worth leveling up to Level 30 to continue the IV breeding process and put that into the daycare with a Modest Ditto.

I imagine Starly might be a good idea, Route 201 only has Starly, Bidoof and both Nidorans (which are radar-exclusive and rarer than the first two), so if you mess up, you might luck out and find a Starly anyway and continue from there. No idea on ball though.

Maybe something from Valley Windworks? I've chained and caught four shiny Pachirisus there. Electrike would be a better species, and it's a good thing you're using Platinum. Electrike's D/P animation is needlessly long, but they shortened it in Platinum. I think an Ultra Ball would work for shiny Manectric.

How do I set it up for local battles for 6v6 level 100 or level 50 in HeartGold/SoulSilver.
It's upstairs I'd assume...left or right door? what rules do I set up?

You can't auto-level everything to 100 in local play, but the "Flat Battle" option uses Battle Frontier style leveling: Pokemon over 50 will be reduced to 50, while Pokemon below 50 stay at their level.
