  1. Okay, admittedly, I'm kinda new here, but I vote you just ask your more complex question here. As far as I know, the worst-case scenario would be no one knows and your question appears to get ignored. If you're asking FOR something, like a pokemon, go here.
  2. Go here.
  3. Put your friend codes in your signature. If you're going to be active here, you're gonna be trading/battling a lot.

1) Thanks.

2) I've been there already, but I don't understand which thread to post in. Could you specify?

3) Done.

What are considered "legal" hacks

Anything that allows you to do anything that could be acheived without hacks, like infinite TMs, fast hatch, egg check, etc. Just don't use hax that, for example, give garchomp dragon dance. (then we would all be doomed) however, I would check with your opponet before battle, and tell him/her all the hacks you used so they could approve it.

Ninjask can't take a hit to save his mum's life, so as long as u got 31 in attack and speed it's fine. And to ceck your IVs, you need to level up a bit then use an IV calculator. If you want to know what stats you have 31 IV in, use the judge in the Battle Tower.

My question : if I am playing PBR on my wii, can i battle someone playing on his DS? After all it's the exact same game.

Ok, here comes another two:
-Who will be best as a Sweeper? Gyarados or Kingdra?
Kingdra is running the Double Dance Set, by the way.

-To a UU team, which bulky water should I play with? Milotic or Wailord?

@Shurokun : lvl 10-15 is enough to see if the IV is good or not

@Black Rose : Gyara and Kingdra are just too different, in their typing, movepool, stats, etc.... It depends on the rest of your team.
Wailord has good HP but horrible defenses... Milotic has instant recovery, a useful ability, a good movepool and some offensive power. However, you could use Wailord for the fun of it...

@Clarinetist : OK so is there a thread for PBR wifi battles?

Err IMO I prefer this EV set 136 HP / 80 Def / 40 SpD for better defence, but yours is fine if you want a bulkier substitute to be passed. 136 HP gives him 297 HP though, not a nice Seismic Toss number in case leftovers gets cancelled by weather or something.
Leftovers doesn't get cancelled by weather (at least not that I know of). Perhaps you were thinking of Focus Sash, which is pretty popular on Ninjask? Hail and Sandstorm mess that one up.

Re-asking my question in a slightly different way:

Is BellyZard viable for Double battles? If not, can anyone suggest a moveset that is?

Belly Drummers would most probably get focus fired. On the other hand, Charizard could be a decoy to let his partner set up etc. Maybe even 2 Drummers on the field together would work good?
Well, if he doesn't mind sacrificing a pokemon, I suppose he could have Charizard's partner use Follow Me to buy it some time to set up.

I've been [to the tutor program signup] already, but I don't understand which thread to post in. Could you specify?
Now on this one I'm none too sure, but as there's only one thread that is NOT locked, I'm pretty sure you just have to post in that one, using the format given in the OP.

Okay so I can just level up with rare candies [to IV check]?
Yes, and you can check it at multiple levels to get more accurate results if you use Metalkid's IV Calculator.

So I am not sure if anyone answer this part. But are these decent Abomasnow IVs?

30/13/23/31/22/13

I would definitely go for atleast max Speed, SpAtk, and Atk (assuming it's mixed). Despite Abomasnow's low Speed, it still wants to outrun some things so 31 Speed should be your first priority. The defensive IVs look decent and I've never actually used an Abomasnow so I'm not sure how often and what it switches into.

When you have a pokemon too low to be EV trained because of the levels of the pokemon, can you use an Exp. Share to not only share Exp, but the exact EVs of the kill your current pokemon used?

For example, I have a Bagon I'm EV/Level training to become a DD Salamence. He is only level 1 currently, but I need him to get to 50 so he can evolve to Salamence. Can I put an Exp. Share on the Bagon to copy EVs from the pokemon I'm using to battle TO the Bagon I want EV Trained? Will it copy the EVs exactly?

Your question is kind of long-winded. v_v

To answer it, I'll use an example.

Give your level 1 Bagon an Exp. Share. Wild Magikarp give 1 Speed EV. If you have a stronger Pokemon, such as your starter or whatever, KO that Magikarp, the experience will be divided in half between your starter and the Bagon. However, both your starter AND your Bagon will each gain 1 Speed EV, assuming your starter isn't already maxed out in EVs. If the Bagon has Pokerus, then it will gain 2 Speed EVs just from holding the Exp. Share and having someone else kill the Magikarp.

In example summary:
Level 1 Bagon @ Exp. Share
Level 42 Infernape K.O.s wild Magikarp.

Infernape gains exp. and 1 Speed EV.
Bagon gains exp. and 1 Speed EV.

Yuh?

Yes, an Exp Share will give the Pokemon exactly the same EVs as if it had defeated the Pokemon. Both Pokemon get the full amount of EVs (so if you battle a Kadabra, both Pokemon would get 2 SpAtk EVs instead of 1). Also, you can find all of the EVs for Pokemon at a fairly low level (except maybe SpDef). You can get 1 HP and 1 Spe from Bidoof and Starly, respectively, on the first Route. You can get 1 Atk from Machop above Oreburg. You can get 1 Def from Geodude in Oreburg Gate or Oreburg Mine. You can get 1 SpAtk from Gastly (or 2 from Haunter) at the Old Chateau. Since using Power Items makes EV training much faster, you should consider using Rare Candies or the Daycare (make sure you don't delete any important moves) to level it up a bit and start fighting Starly.

Hmm. Ok, So I need 24 SpA EVs. Does that mean that because my Salamence (The one I am using to defeat pokemon) does not have his SpA EVs maxed out, that my Bagon (The one BEING EV trained.) will get the exact amount?

What If, in my situation, the Salamence is fully Speed EV'd, what happens then? Will I be getting half of a Speed EV (0.5 Spe EV) for a Magikarp, but then 1 Speed EV for something that normally gives 2 Speed Evs?

Also, say I'm using an Exp share and leveling the Bagon by dragging him through the Elite 4 a couple times to make sure he hits the level he needs to hit (50). Will he still be gaining EVs that I'm not trying to get for him? (Like SpD and Def.)

I also need to mention that I do not have D, P, or Pt. Only HG.

I swear this is the final question.

Do ALL pokemon give HP EVs?

Anyone how answers all of these gets a virtual cookie :P

As long as your Bagon gains exp. in any way, he will get the full EV yield from whatever gave the experience.

Once you have 510 EVs on your Bagon, it is maxed out and will no longer gain EVs, meaning it's safe to kill whatever to gain experience. Before then, any experience gained will also mean you're gaining EVs, so you need to be careful on what you defeat. In Heartgold, in the house farthest East in Blackthorn, a woman will give your Pokemon a ribbon for "working hard," which basically means your Pokemon has the full 510 EVs.

No, only these Pokemon give HP EVs.

how does ludicolo work in UU outside of rain?
could he work as a bulky sweeper and a counter for rain teams?

I'm pretty sure he can work as special sponge, with things like Leech Seed and such. He can't really counter rain teams, since physical attackers like Kabutops and Qwilfish will plow over it any day.

Well I plan on using Ninjask as my lead so that should cover the speed problem, as Abomasnow has the same base speed as Ttar.

Since most rain sweepers don't run max speed Ludicolo could surprise them by running max speed himself and hitting with STAB Grass attacks but is too slow to do much outside of rain.

What Hidden Power types are viable on a non-lead Spikes Roserade, besides Fire? I tend to battle friends who are all familiar with bog-standard sets, including HP Fire on Roserade, and I was hoping to get around that by surprising with a different type. My friends' teams are always changing, so I'd like to know if Roserade can wield a particular HP type to dispatch common standard Pokemon.

Sorry if this question is too subjective as it is; I'll provide more info if need be.

Speaking of which, about the Power Items, do they work when you use an Exp. Share to get EVs for a pokemon?
No, because you can't put two items on the same Pokémon, and both the Power Item and Exp Share would want to be on the Pokémon that you want to EV train. (Putting a Power Item on the Pokémon that KOs the enemy will give the KOer more EVs, but not the Exp Share user.)

(Anything that affects the stats of a Pokémon is not a legal hack for the purposes of trading, but you would be able to battle with such Pokémon as long as you could have obtained them legitimately in theory, and you informed the opponent in advance.) Note that if you Pokésav an event Pokémon, many players who don't hack will refuse to battle you even though it's technically a "legal hack", due to the difficulty of obtaining a legitimate event Pokémon without hacking. Illegal hacks would include anything that isn't possible to get via legitimate play, such as a Pokémon in an Great Ball with an egg move, or a Pokémon with an impossible moveset or impossible stats.

@ Ultima: Okay, lets go:

The EVs given to the pokemon you are trying to EV train do not depend in any way on the EVs already given to the Pokemon you are using to KO your opponents. They will always get the amount the Pokemon defeated would normally give.

Also, the game does not know how you want the Bagon EV trained, so obviously all the Pokemon defeated will give EVs, even if you do not want them.

Not all Pokemon give HP EVs, they are just like any other stat. Check on sites like Serebii to find out what each give.

The game you have does not matter, if it is in the 4th generation, so all advice holds for HGSS.
