Shoddy is getting dull, so I'm going to start breeding so I can play the real game on wifi (especially since there people will have had worked hard to make their teams).

Where should I start on creating a good team? I'm currently trying to catch a Uxie, and since I'm having so much damn trouble getting a good one, I've decided I want to keep the little guy when I get good IVs. I'll probably be using him as some sort of wall.

Not simple enough?

You should start the same way you would start making a team on Shoddy.

As for myself, I like to decide on a Pokémon, the center my team around it, convering it's weakness and having other Pokémon counter what counters it. I guess that's a good way to start, and you can make just like any Pokémon useful if you go like this. [Mothim sweep anyone? Yeah, I've done it.]

Yea, I'm trying to center it around this defensive Uxie I've been trying to catch. And I'm using Charizard, of course (evolved from my favorite Charmeleon).

Now, I've got a few weaknesses: Rock/Water/Electric (Charizard) and Bug/Ghost/Dark (Uxie). Charizard covers the Bug weakness. Luckly though, so far, I'm without an Earthquake weakness :-)

Edit: Just came up with this team. Thoughts?

Uxie (Psychic)
Weak: Bug/Ghost/Dark
Resist: Flying/Psychic
Immune: Ground

Charizard (Fire/Flying)
Weak: Rock/Water/Electric
Resist: Fighting/Steel/Fire/Bug/Grass
Immune: Ground

Tauros (Normal)
Weak: Fighting
Resists: NA
Immune: Ghost

Poliwrath (Water/Fighting)
Weak: Flying/Grass/Electric/Psychic
Resists: Bug/Steel/Fire/Water/Ice/Dark
Immune: NA

Regirock (Rock)
Weak: Fighting/Ground/Steel/Water/Grass
Resists: Normal/Flying/Poison/Fire
Immune: NA

Armaldo (Rock/Bug)
Weak: Rock/Steel/Water
Resists: Normal/Poison
Immune: NA

How's the weakness/resist ratio? The two I want to keep are Uxie and Charizard. I tried to come up with Pokemon that complement each other in weaknesses only, for now.

Does an Modest Pikachu with the Light Ball do more damage than the same Raichu with the Electric Plate (assuming max evs in sp.atk)?

Thnks Davimert I can never remember which nature is which.

You've got a huge water weak and don't have a solid wall, you alos don't have enough sweepers IMO.

Does an Adamant Pikachu with the Light Ball do more damage than the same Raichu with the Electric Plate (assuming max evs in sp.atk)?
I think you've mixed your question up a bit, don't you mean a Modest Pikachu?
Anyway, Adamant Pikachu with Light Ball has a Sp.Atk of 358, Adamant Raichu with Electric Plate has 301 Sp.Atk.
Pikachu wins, allthough Raichu is faster and a bit sturdier.

Like someone said before, you need one more sweeper, I'd say. But I'm someone who also plays more on defenses, so what the hell, your team can work!

Oh, and Poliwrath with Water Absorb has an "immunity" to Water.

Yea, forgot to add that immunity in. Armaldo is more of a filler.

Any suggestions for a good sweeper?

not to keep sounding like a noob (though i am) but does it make the ice beam stronger or something? whats the point?

EDIT: also how do i breed so that i can teach galceon fake tears. thanks.

"boltbeam" - Thunderbolt & Ice Beam - is a great combo because there are only 3 pokemon that resist both attacks - Shedinja, Lanturn, and Magnezone (it has nothing to do with using one attack right after the other)

another combo, which imho is even better, is to use a Fighting & Ghost combo, since nothing resists both, although they will be super effective against less pokemon overall

------------------------------------------------------

my question today is how do i get-
Pain Spilt on Koffing?
Wish on Eevee?

God... synchronizing Uxie apparently isn't working anymore.

Do I need to have the Synchonizer (in this case, an Abra) above the level of the Pokemon I'm trying to sync?

No, it only lists parents who can learn it by level up.

Togepi/Togetic/Togekiss and Natu/Xatu learn it by level up I know, not sure on others. Sketch it from one of them.

i caught Cresselia and didnt save before hand (stupid me), however, she came out alright

Modest

29/x/3/30/3/15 (speed last)

Modest, with great HP and SpAtk, but her defenses suck a$$, so im thinking that a Calm Mind set is best, but because of her defense IV's, do you think im better off with

252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef

rather than the more used

252 HP / 94 Def / 164 Spd

what do you guys think?
