I'm totally new to this gen, and I'd rather not learn everything by trial and error (read getting pawned with an adv style team, like I have been doing). What would you guys say is like the top 5 things i need to cover in a team? garchomp, weaville, ..??

Salamence, garchomp, gyarados, tyranitar and caterpie(heracross).

If you mean specific pokemon:

1. Heracross
2. Blissey
3. Gyarados
4. Skarmory
5. Dragons in general

But countering pokemon only gets you so far. Try to cover your own weaknesses, instead of trying to counter your opponent's strengths. Make a strategy, and then try to plug the holes.

Gorm, since I love you, I'd say the main problem is Gyarados. It's on nearly every team and is hard to stop due to bulky defences/Taunt. He should be priority.

Secondly, I'd say that a Rapid Spinner is more important than ever. There are teams that aim to just wall you to death using Spikes, Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rock. Of course, in order to spin you need to defeat Dusknoir who is basically Dusclops v1.5. Pack something to beat him.

SpecsMence is a particular pain if you're not prepared, as can Scarf/Band Heracross. It's important to find out what item those two have so it's important to have somebody who can scout (ie Protect/Sub).

Sleep is even more prevalent, with Breloom getting better and Tangrowth, Bronzong, Crobat and Gengar running around. ALWAYS have a Sleep Absorber.

Blissey aint changed much from ADV, so I'm sure you know what to do there. Garchomp is real terror, but is often predictable so go to your bulky water. Despite the brilliance of Chain Chomp, it is very rare. Scarf chomp is common though.

Finally, although it isn't really a true-OU threat, Typhlosion with Choice Scarf is incredibly common and spams Eruption. Can be a real twat.

spinner i learned 1st stealth rock is gay. i just think its really gay that you cant have a team without cress/bliss now.
Try to cover your own weaknesses, instead of trying to counter your opponent's strengths.
im not against this so much as I need to stop getting repeatedly pawned by specsmence and weaville every match.

This question is also for emerald:

If I train a lvl. 5 cubone and I'm fighting pokemon in victory road, can my lvl. 5 pokemon get ev trained if I first let him appear in battle and then switch to a lvl 100 pkmn to defeat the, for example, lvl 40 golbat?

you should also know that they will both recieve the same amount of EVs. For example Machop gives 1 atk ev so you send out Cubone then send out rayquaza and ko the machop both Cubone and rayquaza will earn 1 atk EV

How would I go about breeding Ice Punch onto a Sneasel?

I've checked the major sites, and it says I need a Smeargle with Sketch'd Ice Punch, but no wild Pogeyz learn it.

I'm very confused and my friends are getting stressed.

Thankyou.

Raise an Ice Punch pokemon on your own, and then teach it to male Smeargle through a VsSeeker double battle. You can then breed with any Sneasles you want.

how do u soft reset for the pikachu and electivre on PBR?
when you download the wondercard, there will be a man in any pokemart. Save in front of him and then start collecting what he has/soft-resetting if need be.
is there a list of toysrus stores that are going to do the manaphy event?
Most should be but there is no list as far as i've seen... just call the local ones and ask if they'll be participating in the manaphy event listed in this weeks sales paper for the "geoffory's birthday" events.

A few Questions.....
Are there and zero priority attacks that Me First will not copy (assuming the user is faster)?
Are the any less than zero priority moves that Me First can copy?

If a faster pokemon were to use me first on a slower pokemon that chooses explosion/self-destruct, would the slower pokemon still explode (assuming it survives) if the me first performed a succesful blow-up? or would it give the "there was no target" message?

Also would a Magic Guard Clefable recieve damage from holding Sticky Barb?

Thanks for the help, but I've run into a small problem.

Everytime I use the VS. Seeker, it's only letting me fight the trainers individually, rather than in a double battle.

Is there any way to make them challenge me simultaneously?

anyone know the HP for ice for it can be 70?
31/30/22/31/31/31

That is if you don't want to lose any speed IVs (i.e. using Jolteon to try and pwn an Aerodactyl).

And I don't have PBR, but I am certain there is none. PBR isn't really that much of a pokemon game, but rather a WiFi extension WITH A SURFING PIKACHU!!!! Mwahahaha.

Barry, no way to challenge simultaneously.

To answer the slower exploder, the "Me First" person would explode first, and if there is any chance of survival (foretress on steroids?), than the slower would then explode to no target. But I doubt there would be any survival, since the explode would add 1.5x damage.

I just started diamond (along with emerald, but this question is for diamond).

I have a female Piplup who is Rash and "highly curious". It also has hidden power grass. Any good?

Without the IVs, you can't really tell, though Rash isn't a very good nature for an Empoleon...

I took me forever to get a female one.

What are the ev reducing berries? I can shark a few in then use them and post the ivs.

Is the iv calculator on serebii any good?

Pomeg Berry reduces HP
Kelpsy Berry reduces Atk
Qualot Berry reduces Def
Hondew Berry reduces SAtk
Grepa Berry reduces SDef
Tamato Berry reduces Spd

Yes the IV calculator on Serebii is pretty good

Pomeg Berry
A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base HP.
Kelpsy Berry
A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base Attack stat.
Qualot Berry
A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base Defense stat.
Hondew Berry
A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base Sp. Atk stat.
Grepa Berry
A Poffin ingredient. Using it on a Pokémon makes it more friendly, but it also lowers its base Sp. Def stat.
Tamato Berry

Metalkid's IV calculator (www.metalkid.info) is better than Serebii's

If I have a male Electabuzz with 30/31/x/29/x/31 IVs, can I use this as a parent to breed with anything else in the "Human Shape" egg group?
