Which one would you pick if you had a choice? The first one is really nice, but HP Dragon..? The second isn't as good as the first, but sweet HP Ice. What do you people think?

Are you using it for your team?

If your team is weak to dragon/flying/ground, pick the HP Ice one, otherwise, pick the other one

Probably will use it for my team, its from Source's and Chan's thread. I'm having trouble picking which one.

Well, my team may not necessarily be weak to ice, but it'd be nice to kill a dragon thats switching in with an unexpected HP Ice.

Well, is Sceptile meant to take any hits? Because if so, defence, etc wouldn't really matter much

I have a Dragonite with a Quiet nature and zero speed IVs. With no speed IVs, I calculated its speed at about 148 (assuming I used Metalkid's calculator correctly). About where does that put this Dragonite in terms of what outspeeds it and what it outspeeds? What if it is holding a Macho Brace?

EDIT: I just checked speed tiers, and apparently this just outspeed Blissey with a neutral nature, 0 speed EVs, and 31 speed IVs. Say I run it in a Trick Room; would Dragonite be effective without a Macho Brace, given that other slow pokemon that you'd see on a TR team would outspeed it (Tangrowth, Marowak, Rhyperior)? If it does hold a Macho Brace, how seriously would it hamper its attacking ability as opposed to its holding something like, say, a life orb?

Don't ask why I'm trying to run a TR Dragonite, 'cause I dunno either.

Whats the best Blaziken nature?

And what are the best Blaziken sets, in your opinions?

Well, for nature, I think it depends on what you want it to do (physical sweeper, end reversal, special sweeper, etc.), but I think most of them run either Adamant or Jolly.

As for Blaziken sets, I honestly haven't ran them all, but I must say I'm fond of Starly's Special Agiliken:

Blaziken@Life Orb
252 Sp. Attack/236 Speed/16 HP
Modest Nature
-Focus Blast
-Fire Blast
-HP Ice/HP Grass/HP Electric
-Agility

Not sure if it's really all that great or if it's one of the better sets, but I've run it to great effect. It's really a lot of fun when Blaziken comes in on something it threatens, scares it away for a usual counter like Salamence while you Agility, and then killing said counter the next turn with HP Ice or Electric.

Thats a weird set lol, a specsken?

So Adamant vs Jolly, which would you pick?

And other than that set lol, what other set would be good using one if Blaziken's better natures?

Don't laugh, that set actually works. >_>

Hm...as for which nature, I guess it depends on whether you want Power or Speed (I'm not sure were Blaziken hits in the speed tiers, so I'd have to check), but I'd probably use Adamant on a set that uses Agility. Otherwise, I'd probably go Jolly.

I think I'll go with Adamant...Blaziken isn't that fast, really, so better build on its decent attack, rather than build on defence. Unless it can outspeed something of course. I'll ask for more opinions.

If you have a pokemon lv 100(Or any I think),and you compare it and a clone after you've fully EV reduced it,how do you tell how many EV's the original had? Thanks.

Is Smogon really in need of Darkrais? I start soft-resetting for one *points sig*, so I want to know what kind of Darkrai the average smogoner want.

What are the best natures for Blaziken? And what should be the IV's? Like what stats should have good IV's? Other than Attack and Speed...

On Shoddy is sandstorm damage applied before or after you switch in a replacement pokemon?

eg:
my charizard is hit by surf and faints
Does Sandstorm apply here...
i send in shedinja w/ sunny day
...or here

^ I don't know. All I know is if say I kill a Charizard. It dies, my Pokemon will be hit by the Sandstorm, and then the other monster will switch in. Thats how it is on the game, Idk about Shoddy.

timw06: Yoko is right, at least for the game. Shoddy should work the same way, but I've never noticed that.

Yoko: I'd use a +Speed, as its Attack is already high. I'd only use Adamant if I really want to use a Scarf Chicken. And its IVs, at least to me, should be 20+ HP and 15+ Defenses.

Any opinions about Darkrai?

@ Mario, I really haven't seen that many Darkrai's around here....Mr_Goodbar4321 has a good one, but you know...I don't see it the way I see Garchomps/Gyrados's for example, like on every trade thread. Try and get a good Timid one! =D

Also, about the Blaziken thing, yeah it already has high attack but...see how Gyrados's are always Adamant? Its because their speed is really low, and not really worth boosting. I was thinking of Blaziken in the same way.

I thought that was because they are defensive enough to take one hit and boost the speed with Dragon Dance. Blaziken however, doesn't have as many resistances as Gyarados (Ground, Water, lol Steel), neither Dragon Dance, so he needs to get as many speed as possible, dish out its moves, and get out of the field.

Oh wait, the Chicken learns Agility now?

EDIT: Hasty #491 Darkrai: 25 - 27 / 15 - 17 / 31 / 30 - 31 / 3 - 4 / 5 - 7
Oh, fuck you, Darkrai. Seriously.

Does focus sash work twice?

Example: I send in pokemon #1, it gets KO'd, focus sash activates. I roost (opponent doesn't attack xD - it's just a stupid example), switch into #2, wishpass to the first pokemon, so HP is full again. If #1 gets KO'd now, will focus sash activate once again?

Well I'm currently EV training in Emerald but fighting Poochyena's is going to take too long, is there another place where I can fight a Pokemon that shows up all the time that gives 2 or 3 IVs that isn't Gyrados?

No, it won't. However, if you get hit then heal to full, it will work, because it never activated in the first place. If it did work infinite times, then Shedinja would be unbeatable except by weather, stealth rock, spikes.

No. Otherwise Shedinja would be invincible.

edit: Oops didn't see it had been answered...
