What's the math of the Power items when you EV train? I know Pokerus and Macho Brace is =EV_value*2*2 but what's the Power items? thanks

Magikarp = 1 Speed EV right? Well...

Nothing = 1 EV
That Brace thing = 2 EVs
Pokerus = 2 EVs
Power Items = 1 * 4 = 5 EVs
Power Items and Pokerus = 1* 2 = 2* 5 = 10 EVs

Um, Darkrai, that doesn't make sense. First you say that Power Items add, then in the next statement you say they multiply. Which one is it?

Let me fix it.

Its
Nothing = 1 EV
That Brace thing = 2 EVs
Pokerus = 2 EVs
Power Items = 5 EVs
Power Items and Pokerus = 10 EVs

It's just simply this guess I should've typed it like this.

It's easiest if you look at it like this.
Base EV = X
Macho Brace (multiplies the received EVs by 2): (X*2)
Power Items (adds 4 respective EVs): (X+4)
Pokerus (multiplies received EVs by 2): (X)*2

conjunctions
Pokerus + Brace: (X*2)*2 = X*4
Pokerus + Power item (X+4)*2 = 8+X*2

Don't trust me on this because I haven't tried it myself, a friend told me that if you used an R4DS to play Pokemon D/P and you had another flashcart in the slot 2 (he uses EZ 3-in-1 or something like that) then it could recognize the roms in the slot 2 card as a GBA inserted game, but only if you patched the roms (I don't know if you needed to path the GBA ROM, the DS ROM or both). So I think that you could copy your save file from your PC to the slot 2 card and if the file is named the same as the ROM and it is saved in a compatible format then it should recognize it as its own save data.
So you would need:
- Slot 1 flash cart: R4DS, M3DS simply, etc.
- Slot 2 flash cart: EZ 3-in-1, M3, etc.

TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK OF LOSING YOUR MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT MIGHT NOT WORK :S

Can someone please explain to me what an R4DS is (so that I can understand)? I'm looking at Wikipedia entry for it it's making very little sense to me and what EZ 3-in1 or M3 is and what they do. Thanks. Pics would be appreciated too =P

Every time someone leads with Ninjask I get swept. What am I supposed to do, besides Roar it out!? It completely ticks me off that someone can win so easily in such a lame way.

Yeah, but I always lead with Porygon2 to kill Gyardos and stuff.

Here's the dilemma:

If I stay in,
-Ninjask uses Protect! Porygon2 used Thunderbolt! Ninjask protected itself!
-Ninjask used Swords Dance! Porygon2 used Ice Beam! Ninjask hung on with Focus Sash!
-Ninjask used Protect! Porygon2 used Ice Beam! Ninjask Protected itself!
-Ninjask used Baton Pass! GG! It passed +3 speed, +2 attack!

If I switched out, it still gets a chance to pass to something... I could roar it out, but I don't know who I have that can roar T_T

How do you use encore to set up?
I think one way would be, for example, if you Encore an Earthquake, switch to a Flying type that needs to set up, like a Belly Drum Charizard (probably not the best example, but it gets my point across). Charizard gets to Drum while they switch out of their now-useless Earthquakes.

So it has to be Belly drum really, it can't be for like Calm Mind as it takes so long to use.

Sometimes even one stage of boosting can be enough. Stuff like Nasty Plot and Swords Dance could work too. Or you could throw up a sub.

Not that I'm a setup expert. My main experience with Encore and setup is CPU Wobbuffet Encoring a Dragon Dance or similar, staying in while I'm powering up, and getting owned by something with +6 Attack and Speed when the Encore ends. I'm not making this up, the computer CAN be that stupid.

If you really feel like it's a big problem, just pack sandstream. Taunt and Sleep moves work good aswell.

you can't really sleep it without the problem of substitute and free swords dances. it's worse if he passes a sub, +4 attack, and +6 speed, than for you to just get him to pass +2 attack and +3 speed.

as for counters, all you can really do is phaze him. It's really entertaining, though, to set up on a ninjask with memento, or to kill all its baton passes with grudge, though I prefer memento

ninjask is frail as...a bug, so priority, which also happens to go before baton pass, can really piss him off.

Macho Brace+Pokerus against a pokemon who normally gives 2attack EVs=8Attack EVs? Im pretty sure it is but just have to be sure:P
