I have a problem guys. I have rng'ed nearly 100 battle worthy pokes and battle against friends at home. But now I'm looking at online battling but have so many pokes to choose from I could do with some help in building an online team. I don't really know where to start. I was thinking of trying a porygon 2 @ evolite and a jellicent as my defensive core but don't know where to go from there. Any help would be appreciated.

Well your pretty BU Conk weak so I would add a Gliscor or something.

I'm making an OU team! I have a defensive core of Milotic, (Spikes) Roserade, and (Specially Defensive) Heatran, and will most likely be using Latias as my setup sweeper. What would the best two pokemon for the last slots be?

I'd like a defensive check not named Skarmory among them.

Hello guys, I have been building a team based around Archeops. I have added Darmanitan as a nice offensive partner and Starmie to spin and take the water attacks. I have then added Deoxys-S as a lead for its awesome hazard support. I need help deciding the last 2 pokemon on my team. Bear in mind that this team is hyper offense.

Why would you make a team around a Poké that's really not great? But if you insist on using it, make sure to use a Wish passer because if Archeops falls below 50% it becomes useless

even though its HO, I'd recommend placing Blissey or Chansey on this team. This way, they have the ability to pass Wishes to Archeops, which may help in recharging a sweep.

Try Gastrodon > Milotic. Why not Skarm? . Gastrodon, Heatran, Rossy and Skarm is a really solid core. Gastro and Tran can easily deal with most weather teams. Fucking solid. I highly suggest you try it.

What is the purpose of pokemon online?

For people to battle without having to get on wifi. Also for people who don't have a cartridge. Also, you can make a team without actually building and RNGing and whatever. Also, D/Cing isn't as a big as a problem. Also, it's much faster than waiting for lefties and this and that. Also, it's easier to review a log than it is to look at a battle video. Also, pressing a button gets you into a battle almost instantly. Also, easy tourneys.

I should have mentioned I'm forgoing a wish passer because I'm keeping Archeops to clean up late game. Anybody else have any advice? Thanks btw

EDIT: Zachheus the only reason Archeops is bad is its ability. Otherwise it has base 140 attack and 110 speed. That's 7 less attack then Haxorus and 12 more speed. I figure if I abuse Archeops lategame, I won't have to worry about his ability and instead have a incredible mon to clean up late game.

Still, it will really be trying to pull a Earthquake Acrobatics (Gliscor) sweep with maybe Rock Slide because trying to sweep with Head Smash wouldn't work all too well thanks to the huge recoil

I'm looking to get started in Gen V. I haven't really played competitively since IV on the simulator that came before lab... I was wondering where to go in terms of simulators (or what to enter in "advanced" on pokemon lab).
As far as team building goes, I've been lurking here and there and have a decent idea of where to start this gen, I just need to know where to start (simulator wise... that last sentence was a bit of a fail)...
Thanks for any help!

The current simulator being used by Smogon is Pokemon Online.

i need opinions about this.
im running a scarf manectric and came up with two setups, basically i just want to know witch seems better for UU.

modest
max sp. att, max speed, 4 sp. def(DL Pory2 purposes) for both sets

t-bolt
flamethrower
HP grass/signal beam
swictheroo

---------------------
electroball
flamethrower
HP grass/signal beam
Volt Switch

Go with the first setup. Not even Timid Scarf Electrode can use Electro Ball, as it only outdamages Thunderbolt against Pokémon below 208 Speed, and how many of those are there...?

good point, but i forgot to mention if there paralyzed, then it will definitely outpower, but do you thinks its worth it? because if so then i will try to paralyze the whole team of the oppenents. :nerd: lol, but seriously

Why run Electro Ball? Sure it does massive damage to slow pokemon, but when facing Starmie for example? Even though it's STAB SE, it will do pitiful damage. Tbolt should be on both sets for more consistent damage. HP Grass hits Ground types I'm sure but HP Ice doesn't have overlapping coverage with Tbolt, while also forming a pseudo BoltBeam combo.
Signal Beam seems a bit redundant to me as it barely does more damage SE than a neutral Tbolt does. The last move however is a hard choice and comes down preference. If you want to be able to scout and gain momentum, go Volt Switch. If you want to cripple a wall, though, go with Switcheroo.
