The opposing pokemon loses 1/8 damage each turn when being hit by contact move, so you can calculate those yourself quite easily.

Were you in the same priority bracket? Was your opponent telling the truth about Goodra holding an assault vest? Seems like a dumb question but was trick room in effect? Did you forget to put EVs on your charizard and your opponent was running some random-ass fast goodra? :x
If you could provide a replay of this happening, then it would be much, much easier to ascertain what the problem was. This kind of issue is largely reported and it's almost never the case the it was the fault of the program. I apologize if that comes of as offensive; however, there are so many things that can change move order that it's too hard to explain what happened from your post.
Yeah I'm aware that it's a common misreported error. I just checked and apparently I was using a negative priority move and I wasn't aware of that.
Is there any way to be reminded of my password? It logged me out and I can't remember the password, and none of my usual passwords are working.
Never mind. I reset my password from a different computer.
Heads up on a possible error, though. The password resetter wants you to type your old password first, but it said I got the old password incorrect but it still reset it.

I'm not sure if it's been asked before, but is there a forum to suggest battle formats?
You might want to try Other Metagames.
Whenever I try to play on pokemon showdown, all the windows and content will show up for a brief time period and quickly disappear so it basically leaves me staring at the wallpaper and unable to play. It seems to me that I'm the only one having this issue. Any know hows to fix this??
I just logged into showdown, and it says I have no teams. But I do have a team that I'm very proud of, and I can show you replays of me using it. The last time I had the opportunity to delete it accidentally was when I switched from M-Luke to M-Pinsir, and I know I've used it since then. I know I can just remake the team, but where should I post to see if I can get it back?
PS teams are stored on your browser cookies, when you clear your browser cookies your teams get deleted as well.
Make sure to backup your teams using a text file(use the import/export button).
This guy wrote this a couple of months ago, but no one replied to it, so I thought I could continue a little bit on his post. First of all I agree with everything he says, even tho everything that happened to him has not happened to me. I first met those guys in a match, they were poor losers and they even tried stuff like this on me http://i56.servimg.com/u/f56/18/53/63/69/lel12.jpg. To me it's a bunch of trolls who often breaks the rules, spams in chats, tries to trick the oponent to disconnect mid-battle and such. And when you try to join their room, they ban you immedeatly and asks you not to say anything about the room.
you can always /ignore them, or if they become v abusive report them to a mod just like you would any user. apart from that, the room is private for a reason & calling them out in a public thread is just asking for trouble / doesn't fix anything. if you have any pressing concerns PM me or another mod/leader about them and we will try and clear it up for you.
I believe if you're battling you can do /modchat players and it silences everyone but you and the opponent. Of course if the other guy is one of them they can probably undo it.
Hey, I'm relatively new, and I was wondering how I could set the ability of a pre-Mega pokemon on the Teambuilder. For example, I run a Mega Heracross in my TR team, and I'd like normal Hera's ability to be Moxie, for boost opportunity on revenge kills pre-Mega evo. The ability defaults to Swarm, though. How can I change this?
Welcome! When you're in the teambuilder, go to Heracross and click the ability box where it says Swarm. Once you do that, the list of abilities for you to choose from should appear below.
You can use The Beginner's Guide to Showdown in general, which explains how Showdown works.

So what is going on with the new ladder decay in ou :/ im 1804 the night before - I come online in the morning and im 1790. 9 hours separated those two ratings. (Not to mention)Then I play a battle and the showdown servers lag and I drop to 1760 D:)
Why am I ranked in metagames I've never played? I created a new alt yesterday for laddering in UU, and when I checked my rank today, it stated I had played nearly 40 matches over 5 other metagames, as well as displaying my UU ranking.
I don't play doubles or ubers (anymore, but I might take it up again) because I've never bothered to learn the metagames, I avoid the seasonal ladders and challenge cup as if they were the plague, and I've never played OU with this alt. And yes, the alt is registered with a secure password.
