I just got the game; I am still a tad confused about how dream world exactly works. I registered in global link, but I already tried going in the dream world once today (tried random things) , so I'm locked out of using it for another 24 hours.
All that I need to use it for is to get a poison heal gliscor...but at this point, it seems rather troublesome. So, the question is, how exactly should I go about getting a poison heal gliscor using the dream world? Detailed steps( i.e. idiot-proof, as I am not exactly the brightest light bulb) to help explain things to me would be VERY much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

This is more or less the best way to rack up points in Dream World:

1: When you go to the Island of Dreams, play every minigame that comes up. Each one nets you points.
2: Once you reach the tree, click "Return to Home" so you can play more minigames at the Island of Dreams
* 2.5: If you don't encounter anything in an Island of Dreams trip, feel free to take anything you want from the tree for the day.
3: After you're done with the island, visit other people's houses and water their plants (if you can find any to do so)

Once you hit 2500 points, you'll be able to go to Windswept Sky, which has Immunity Gligar. So once you're there just keep searching.

Also, you can check how many points you have by going to the global link page -> Click Profile -> Click the Dream World tab in your profile.

Just give it time.

What's the best way to go with a Timid Rotom with HP Fighting?
(Aka, what form should it be?)
EDIT:
Is Gentle usable for any of the Eeveelutions? If so, which?

Oh yeah, I forgot that you were allowed to use other Pokeballs. My mistake.

Also, Kepperino, I won't leave your question un-answered. Personally, the Eevees need a specific nature to work, not even Gentle will make them reach max potential. Espeon needs Timid/Modest, Umbreon needs some Defense/SpD boosting nature, Leafeon needs Adamant/Jolly, Glaceon needs Modest, Flareon needs Adamant, Jolteon needs Timid/Modest (I prefer Timid), and Vaporeon needs either Calm or some Defense boosting nature, depending on how you want to go with it.

That kinda sucks.
Now I'm stuck with the Shiny Adaptability Flawless Gentle Eevee. :P

Timid Rotom-W is an excellent choice scarf user, though would prefer a HP Ice.

You can also use Timid instead of Modest on the standard Rotom-W set, allowing you to take points out of speed to make it more bulky. Modest is standard for a reason, but it wouldn't suck.

Question of my own: Everyone describes Thundurus as a potent special threat, and I would very much like to build a team around one. What partners does it need in order to succeed? Rapid Spin I assume, but what else would you recommend?

Reuniclus.. I want to use one.. but the only set i see is a VGC one.. and no one has really touched up on the Pokemon in a while.

So set-wise, what is the most effective? ev spread? anything.

Ah, the all-ways rapamazing Rankurusu. :D From what I've seen, the CM set always comes out on top with any team, but if your team is rather slow, TR Rank is a threat as well. Personally, I favor CM-Rankurusu.

Rankurusu @ Life Orb / Leftovers
Bold ~ 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
~Recover
~Calm Mind
~Psychic / Shadow Ball
~Focus Blast

Ah, good old fashion CM-Rank. With your spread, he's easily going to be able to take hits on the Physical side of the spectrum as you set up your Calm Minds. Calm Mind, being the key point of this set, allows you to set up and slow-sweep (ie. you're not gonna be sweeping with his attrocious Speed) while adding great boosts to your Special Defense. Psychic is your means of STAB and provides great coverage with Focus Blast, while Focus Blast itself allows you to hit T-Tar, more damage on Scizor, Doryuuzu (Excadrill), Nattorei (Ferrothorn), and Chansey / Blissey (even though you'll need HEAVY boosts to deal with them). Your choice of Item is between Longetivity without having to bounce back to Recover, or more power. The wonderful thing about Life Orb is that you take no recoil due to Magic Guard, so that's always a good option. :)

In Platinum, how long does the semi-repel effect of Black Flute last? Is it an amount of steps, or until you zone, or is it actually indefinite until you play the White Flute?

I'd rather run Psyshock than Psychic if you find yourself having issues with CM wars, but otherwise it's a good set. Maybe allocate the SpD EVs to speed as well so you can keep an edge on other Reuniclii.

Something that can take Ice/Rock moves for it?

If you want a specific example, Infernape is a decent teammate. He doesn't resist, Rock, but he does resist Ice. Ice is by far the more common way of dealing with Thundurus. Infernape also seriously threatens many of Thundurus's checks. Best of all, Infernape is Earthquake bait, allowing you to switch in Thundurus and possibly get a free Nasty Plot.

A Swords Dance Lucario is another good option. It attracts Ground and Fighting Moves, which Thundurus resists, and resists the Ice and Rock moves that Thundurus attracts. This also gives you a powerful sweeper on both the physical and the special side, with numerous opportunities to grab a free setup. If you go with this combo, you should make sure to have Hidden Power Ice on Thundurus or, if for some reason you really can't have it on there, give Ice Punch to Lucario over Crunch. Without one of these two having an Ice-type move, Dragonite and/or Salamence will completely wreck you.

Also note that Thundurus is very much at home on a Rain Offense team. Good teammates there include Dragonite, Jirachi, and Ferrothorn (who sets up hazards and is near-unkillable in the rain).

Sure CM Reuniclus is pretty solid.. but maybe a Trick Room set would be more efficient, and cause more issues to the opponent. This is just irritating.. but I really don't think a CM set would be the best for Reuniclus nowadays.. the opponent will send in an instant counter, and cause problems.. but Trick Room.. you activate it instantly.. then can start lashing out powerful attacks first.. but then i guess i'll have to run a trick room TEAM.

Random Matchup Singles is fun and all, but the three Pkemon that give me the most trouble (read: that I hate the most) are Azelf, Ferrothorn and Conkeldurr. Is there any one Pokemon that can counter all three of these while not being a complete deadweight otherwise? Right now Chandelure and Speed Boost Yanmega are looking promising but I want other people's thoughts.

My trick scarf gangar whoops all three of these. Also, Honchcrow. Suckerpunch, heat wave, and brave bird. I mostly recommend ghost types such as cofagrigus or dusknoir to take on these, or a reuniclus. Also, scarfed or sashed psychic types such as Alakazam or an azelf of your own will kill these three. Oh, yeah, volcorona can survive any conkeldurr or azelf attack except a stone edge, get a quiver dance, and ohko them. The biggest threat to me is whether the azelf carries a sash or scarf so yeah.
Togekiss! i knew I forgot one.

Let's say a soundproof Mr. Mime uses Perish Song through something like Metronome or Mimic. Is he affected?

Is there a good list of where to EV train pokemon in DPPt? There were two links in the DP/P Resources thread in Stark Mountain, but both are broken now, evidently having been purged from the forums at some point.

Thanks! That was very helpful.
For reference:
-You earn 20 points per minigame you complete. Score does not matter (beyond the special move), so long as you finish the game (15 balls, 20 inches, find the Pokemon, reach the end of the sky)
-10 points for every other person's berry patch you water
-You get 30 points every time you get a new dream pal (max of 8, I think; you don't get points from people palling your pals, though)
-You also get 50 points for just logging into dream world that day
-No points for specifically sending a Pokemon to your game or switching items on the trade shelf

Sadly there's no way to specifically pal any game-friends you have, it's all luck. When you view the Dream Pal Map (left corner when you're on your island) and a random person's island will show up in the lower right corner each time you view the map. Just keep cycling through until you see people you might want to pal with. I suggest looking for:
-People with lots of berry patches (and actually use the things)
-People in different time zones (Japan & European places are most common), this way you've got a bigger chance of finding someone to water your berries and visaverca
-People who have a lot of dream pals of their own. Finding a big dream web can be a good way to get around the pal limit in your search for dry berry patches

You'll also need 4 badges to reach the Sky (8 to reach the Ocean)
