Such a fallacy, Latias is the perfect glue to most teams, as she has good enough power and better bulk than her brother. She already comes with a boost making her a lot more powerful, and actually places her ahead of Kyogre. She also has the speed to check most threats, such as Kyogre and Palkia, and even non scarf chomp.Kyogre, it fits on any team, Rain support is awesome, and it has great stats.
another question...
-in uber RMTs, the word "check" comes up a lot. what exactly is this "check"?
-can both mews be used awesomely in one uber team? baton passer + sweeper?
-what buffs DO mews pass, anyhow?
- A check is a Pokemon that can semi-reliably beat the Pokemon they are checking. Whereas a counter is able to switch in with safety and defeat the Pokemon (eg Blissey to non-Safeguard/Refresh Lati@s), a check cannot really safely switch in unless you predict well (eg ScarfChomp checks Rayquaza, but cannot switch into Outrage/Dragon Claw/Draco Meteor, etc). Most of the Ubers are strictly uncounterable, therefore checks are the next best thing.
- I don't know what you mean by "both Mews". I'm assuming you mean Mew and Mewtwo. Yes, my first Ubers team that got me into the leaderboard had both Mew and Mewtwo in it (Although not BP/Sweeper, it was Lead Mew and Sweeper Mewtwo). A lot of Baton Pass Mew teams have Mewtwo as a Dual Screener, with Taunt/Reflect/Light Screen/Selfdestruct, allowing Mew to have a free switch. There's also no problem with passing boosts from Mew to Mewtwo either, save for the fact that they both have the same type and weaknesses, which means it would be harder for Mew to pass to Mewtwo.
- Mew can pass +2 of any stat. Swords Dance for Attack, Nasty Plot for Special Attack, Barrier for Defense, Amnesia for Special Defense and Rock Polish for Speed. Mew can also pass stuff like Calm Mind and Bulk Up.
Example being: Scarf palkia to DD Rayquaza. Scarf Palkia outspeeds ray, and ohko him with Spacial rend.An easier definition of a check is something that can come in on a safe turn (ex: after a kill) and force the opponent's pokemon out.
Super Fang or lead are your best options. Mewtwo can pull off the defensive, because of massive speed, something mew lacks. The synch status strategy maybe interesting, but lum leads kill it.okay, im getting a free legit UT mew soon from a trade thread (yay!) but i have trouble placing it in my team.
it has many possibilites:
-Super Fang Harass <suicide or BP variations>(SD/Icebeam/Super Fang/Explosion or BP)
-Mewtwo's infamous Taunt-WoW
-U-Turn lead
-Synchronize+status orb (this hasn't been tested but i read it somewhere)
so then i decided to come up with a team, THEN find mew's purpose. but that didn't make it any easier...

is there a place where metagross has an ubers analysis? If not, what is the typical scarfgross set + evs? I've given him 220 speed evs to outspeed max speed darkrai and anything that aims to beat darkrai by one point (correct me if wrong), plus max attack and threw the rest in HP. Is there a specific spread that lets me get certain KOes or survive certain attacks?
I would like the following pokemon to be on my team.
