However most of my experience is on the ladder where I am fluctuating between 1550-1700. I am now trying to improve my play so that I may be a better tournament participant in the future. In addition, after the archaludon ban, I am not particularly strong at any one archetype, with my best ones being Chien Pao HO, Full Trick Room with Psychic Terrain, and Fast Psyspam with Sun. I also tried to play a ladder tour but was defeated in the playoffs.However, I've noticed that Gen 9 BH seems to have significant differences in team structure compared to Gen 8, which motivates me to study about Gen 9 BH.Moreover,team-building skill is my weakness. Although the teams I throw together sometimes work okay, I'm not entirely sure what factors to consider when building a team.I just know it's important to counter imposters and should have answer to set-ups. I hope to improve my team-building abilities through this.

As for what ive already done to better myself, ive been watching a ton of content and laddering a bunch (mostly alts to try and get X-0 big streaks), feel like ive got the basics mostly down and know the common team structures/sets/mechanics, getting games with people who can do analysis afterwards and signed up to some tournaments.

Tell us a little about your experience in competitive Pokemon (min. 3 sentences): I have been seriously using Smogon for about 3 years now, starting in early 2022. Most of my experience has been in UU, as I have been playing that tier for 3 years and got drafted for UUFPL 3 times and UUBD once. I got drafted for BWPL, which made me interested in learning BW OU. I would like to learn more about the tier, and improve at mons in general.

I do pretty alright in ou ladder averaging at 1350 at best (and 1400 is my peak with ~50% win rate), but then suddenly drop really low and get big sad. I really like to team build and strive to get better at it. I really want to compete in tournaments but my confidence in winning a single match is at an absolute low. Experience: Have been playing Showdown on and off pretty casually since SM OU. I have always had good knowledge, but never was involved in the community much. In the past few months I have been looking to get into more serious laddering and tournaments. I find myself usually around 1600-1700 on the ladder and am looking to really try and take it to the next level. I have struggled a bit to improve and find myself not really being fully locked into my more serious tournament matches, which does not allow me to plan for any sort of mid or endgame plans, and makes for as well a lot more carelessly thrown games than I would enjoy. This is something I would like to improve.

I’ve been playing Pokémon showdown since I first discovered competitive in gen 6, and as such I’ve played to obtain a skill level to give my favorite YouTubers a run for their money— despite how unrealistic of a dream that’s been. My goals, however, shifted after scraping into top 500 in randomized formats like gens 3, 5, 6, and 9, to achieving it in gen 3 OU, peaking at around top 50 (albeit it with a premade kingdra para spam team). Now that I see just how large the gap truly is, I’m hoping to take my journey far more seriously by actually understand the complexities of the game like proper team building, exploring any additional formats as directed, and play at a level showing considerably decent tournament participation that shows I hold my own in a pinch.

one of my first of matches was playing a game of ADV AND ORAS. out of all meta games I have played I realized that I enjoyed adv whether it be from the intricacies and details from before the physical special split and unique sets and niches can have.As for ORAS it was the best tier I ever laddered in reaching a 1500elo once.
