Beer!!

boddingtons.jpg

Only beer I drink habitually, to be honest.
MAYBE a Guinness every now and again.

I'm not a beer aficionado any means (I've only sampled a few varities) but I'll add to this.

Favorites Sam Adams hands down. I'm not a big fan of beer but I really liked it. To bad its never around at parties :(

As for a shit beer I'll go with Natural Ice. I hate that shit, but my friends always get it cuz its cheapest. With any other beer I've had it starts to go down like water after the first can, but not with this. It tastes like shit and keeps tasting like shit. I've actually drank straight yager and jack daniels to get the taste out.

Monk-made beer in my experience is generally pretty good.

There's a brewery in Abita Springs, Louisiana (about 30 minutes from where I live) that has a brewery and honestly I love all of their beers, they get featured a lot in beer reviews I think. If you ever see Abita beer in a grocery store, that's usually a safe bet. Some of my other favorites are Newcastle, Tsing Tao, Anchor Steam, and Shiner Bock. I'm no beer expert though.

I will admit that 90% of my beer consumption in the past 2 years has probably been Keystone Light or likewise. I've gotten used to it. Drinking in the 16-20 year old age bracket will do that to you.

Good lord, how did I miss this topic before.

Being the unofficial Smogon Lush, I've tried my fair share of beers. My all-time favorite is pretty hard to say, it's probably between Labatt Blue (Canadian) and Stella Artois (Belgian). Both are crisp and smooth, which is the style of beer I prefer. I was never much for porters or anything dark.

In college all we drank was Keystone Light because it was $13 for a 30-rack, so even now I can suck those down like water. But when I'm at a bar I'll usually go for a Blue Light, hopefully draught (because it's even better on tap than bottled).

I would drink the fancier beers, but to be quite honest I only drink light beers these days to watch my weight, and last I checked they don't make any of the good ones light. Oh, and Corono without a lime tastes just like any other beer, I really don't see what the big deal is. Put a lime in any beer, you'll see a similarity.

And yeah Carl, Blue Moon with an orange wedge is the shit.

Not sure why everyone is saying "but that's a lager not a beer!"... Lager is [a type of] beer.

Dark beer makes up for that with it's greater alcohol concentration. Any beer with taste is much better than drinking cheap, light, college beers, so why not just enjoy some of the better beers out there and try having 1 or 3 less?

My comment re heineken was because basics said he didnt like lager.

Honestly "lager, not beer" annoys me..

Have a nice day.

I enjoy Blue Light, it's very refreshing and smooth. Plus, it's ~400 less calories per beer than regular, so for me it's a no-brainer.

Beer is about debauchery and gluttony...not watching weight. I figure "why go to the beach if you don't wanna get sandy?"

Give me flavor (and calories I guess) or give me death!!! I guess in the end it gets us to the same place, doesn't it? :naughty:

Haha, I know. It's not that I disagree, and I definitely do partake in a Bass Ale or Sam Adams Winter Lager here and there, but I don't binge on a 12-pack of Guinness on Friday night.

No, like I said before, I really don't like it that much. It's like drinking chocolate coffee, only thicker. And much worse.

Apparently Guinness with milk is meant to be good. I've tried it once, and it's like bitter caramel, hard to stomach.

shit i just drink whatever people give me.

i dont have time for brand names when i want to get DRUNK!

I hate guiness, just an FYI.

I am getting hammered tonight off kokanee, heineken and my friends liquor cabinet. HOOORAH!!!

I hate the following: Keystone Light, Natty Lite, Corona, Bud Light. My idea is that they take the alcohol and then filter it through a butthole for no apparent reason before packaging.

the only cheap beer I can stand is Coors Light.

I've never actually had a beer I've enjoyed yet, mostly because I'm a college student and drink whatever is provided at parties (when I buy my own stuff, I go for liquor). Any suggestions on a good tasting beer? I'd like to develop a taste for it.

I agree with you completely. I'm not a big fan of beer though, but it seems like the only beer colleges like to drink (because it's cheap obviously) is Natty Light and Keystone Light. I'm really only exposed to that kind of beer, so I guess I havn't experienced beer at it fullest....

I do like Corona though ^^ I don't care if it's Mexican piss lol

Yuengling is the most cost effective beer for me, so I guess that makes it my favorite. Modest price for the flavor. When I want to shell out money, I buy Newcastle. It tastes a bit better each time I get it. If I am going for quantity, I get Miller Lite. I've had many shitty lite beers but Miller has to be the best out of them (for my area at least). I don't have much experience with the more expensive brands. And I don't think I can stomach Guinness after that one time...
