Best Roarer/Hazer

The title says all. Post here the best Roarer and Hazer in your opinion, and the reasons for your answers. I've had some problems with Cursers or DDers, etc..., and I know that I must carry al least one with Haze or Roar/Whirlwind, but I don't know which one to use...

I don't know if this topic has already been debated, in this case, sorry.

Don't worry, this is not a poll ;-)

In my opinion, Suicune has always been the best user of Roar. 100/115/115 defences, great typing and a great Speed stat that allows him to beat most other Phazers to the punch.

Damn Lee you already said what I was planning to say :(. Anyways QFT. Other decent users are Hippowdon, and Tyranitar(although you never see it).

If I don't have move space issues, I'll take Hippowdon. It survives about anything physical with ease and it can Slack Off to do it repeatedly. Close second for Skarmory because of all the resistances, Spikes, recovery move as well as Toxic immunity and because unlike Hippowdon, it ALWAYS has room for Whirlwind, whereas Hippo is usually only considering it (Earthquake and Slack Off are obligatory, and then there's 2 slots left in which Roar, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Ice Fang, other fangs and Toxic can go).

I don't like Suicune much because it is sorely lacking in resistances and has no 50% recovery damage, and it's not as residual-damage proof as Hippowdon. Donphan doesn't have a recovery move either, and I don't use Roar on him often anyway. Same for Swampert. Weezing has an unreliable recovery move, but at least Haze is somewhat less prepared for.

I prefer countering most Pokemon with something that really threatens them outright or sets up something to use the spare time than directly Whirlwinding them away or something. I mean, if a Salamence Dragon Dances in your face, then expects you are going to Whirlwind, he will obviously hit you with his boosted attack. But bring in an Ice Beamer and he will be forced to switch.

The only thing he can roar out is nasty plotters and they beat him up regardless.
Every good phazer is pretty much physically defensive since you're getting rid of DDance, Agility, and SDance 99% of the time.

Although it may not do the job like Skarmory, Whirlwind Drapion is worth a mention. It has great defenses, it's only weak to Ground, and it can Knock Off/set up Toxic Spikes/Absorb Toxic Spikes.

70/110/75 isn't what I would call "great" considering the massive amount of beatings a phazer must take. Having one good stat is nice, having other stats to actually back that up is better. That only weakness of him is arguably the most common attacking type of them all, too.

I prefer indirect phazing, such as Leech Seeding or Toxic them. Sure it could take a while but you'd be alright with the right resistences.

one problem is that indirect phazing cannot get through substitutes, which can be a problem if you are ever facing a ninjask

and you never, ever want to lose to a person who uses a ninjask :P

Venusaur can Roar, Sleep Powder and Leech Seed but thats disgressing slightly from the point.

Its as most say, best phazers are Suicune, Vaporean, Skarmory, Hippowdon and Walrein if you run Hail team. Blastoise and Swampert also get worthy mentions too.

Best hazers go to Weezing, Crobat, Drifblim.

Steelix should be mentioned, too. Despite having four weaknesses, if those attacks aren't stabbed, it can take at least 3 of them from the physical side. Against anything else physical, it just laughs at the damage. Also, doesn't have as many moveslot issues as others.

If you're able to take out the opponent's main special attacker (or sometimes two - the metagame is more biased towards physical attacking due to Blissey), then Steelix makes an amazing PHazer. Sure, he can't do much damage at all, but he has a couple good resists (SR and Toxic Spikes) and great defense. He works well on a Sandstorm team.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, these sort of threads are getting really annoying. There really is no best Pokemon for any role in the game (except Blissey sometimes), and there never will be until theres one physical/special attacker that can outspeed and OHKO everything in the metagame, a special/physical wall that can shrug of any hit in the game, etc. How good something is depends on the rest of the team and the situation it's in. All the other "best" threads this vs. that threads, and hacking polls are getting annoying as well. This isn't just to the OP, but to everybody posting these.

A tie between Swampert, Skarm, and Hippowdon.

Swampert and Skarmory for awesome typing as well as great defenses, and Hippowdon for doing even better walling and having good defensive typing.

me presonally being an avid, crobat user, uncluding hazebat, crobat using haze is very bad. what are you realistically going to use haze on that wont kill you afterwards.

agilitygross> outspeeds you and kills you with thunderpunch or zen headbutt

dragon dancers> kill you with whatever move they feel like, and outspeed you

can sometimes work on calm minders, but a haze crobat is way too situational to be effective. it would be much better to just use hypnosis on the pokemon and render them completely useless, then u turn the fuck outa there.

in respeonse to the poll i would say skarmory or empoleon. hippodawn can attack very well, so i think attaking options are more viable on him.

Anything with Roar, Yawn, Whirlwind, or Haze is a great PHazer. How is this a discussion worth discussing? Anything that's defensive that gets it is good to go.
