To be honest, I think most of those sets are kind of obvious (ZOMG, CScarf would do wonders to help Heatran), but since that's not taken into consideration, I went with MixApe. Being able to bring down the old dreaded SkarmBliss combo is a plus, and he's just overall so useful.

Now if this was for a truly unique set, I'd have chosen ChainChomp. Granted, Draco Meteor on any dragon type is a bit obvious, but ChainChomp shines in being able to also go physcial with SD + STABed EQ as well as having FB for coverage against Steel types.

Hmm, didn't see that there was a poll (or was that recent)? It really needs an "other" option lol

I always liked the Defensive Staraptor, but best probably goes to Infernape since it hits nearly anything you switch into it hard.

I voted SpecsMence as it's basically the Raikou of D/P - it creates the need for Blissey or Cradily in SS, otherwise you will get raped.

I don't think most of these have -anything- on specs Salamence, bulky Gyarados, or even mixed Infernape, the early definers of the DP metagame.

As much as I love BulkyGyara, I have to say SpecsMence. With SpecsMence, it just addes another level of prediction. "Is it a Specs? Or possibly a Band? Oh noez, can't forget the Mix."

It just makes Salamence so much harder to predict. It may not "6-0" teams (ok, maybe it does a few times :P) like BulkyGyara after it gets set up, but it's one of the best taking out Pokemon one on one. My vote's going with SpecsMence.

You realize that almost all of these sets were inherently obvious looking at their movepools (SpecsMence), right?

Look at MixApe. A Special Sweeper with a Fighting move for Blissey? Stop the presses!

Chain Chomp is the only set here that actually required thought (oh and Kristy, but it should really be Smogon face-palming themselves for taking that long to figure out that everything that has Taunt-Baton pass should be using it), and that's a decent surprise, barring Cresselia, who is the #1 counter anyway.

Reward originality with something that's actually painstakingly created, guys. Is there a set that's done that this year? That's pretty much just Chain Chomp or Kristy.

You realize that this poll is about what the best set thought up this year was, and not what the most creative set is, right?

Cool ;).

I should post here.

anyways, SpecsMence. It's like Magnezone in that it does its job even if it isn't used. Magnezone makes people run Shed Shell out of fear; SpecsMence makes everyone cower and try to find a Pokemon that can take it on.
