[Overview]
<p>Bisharp is a Pokemon with many draws—it possesses high Attack and Defense and has quite a few resistances as a result of its Steel typing. Moreover, its Speed allows it to function both in and out of Trick Room. Bisharp is lucky to possess the second-strongest Sucker Punch in the game as well as Defiant, a rare ability that raises Bisharp's Attack two stages when a stat is lowered, allowing it to gain Attack from Intimidate. However, Bisharp is not without its flaws; its typing gives it an enormous weakness to Fighting-type moves and, in tandem with its movepool, also curses it with STAB moves that have low base power.</p>

[SET]
name: Standard
move 1: Sucker Punch
move 2: Night Slash
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: Protect
item: Dark Gem
nature: Adamant
ability: Defiant
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
<p>Sucker Punch is Bisharp's most useful move and allows it to OHKO many things that have weaknesses to it - both Chandelure and Latios are felled in one hit, for example. Night Slash provides a more reliable STAB move and Iron Head hits most things that resist Dark-type moves for at least neutral damage; it is also notable in its ability to KO 4 / 0 Toxicroak in tandem with Sucker Punch outside of Rain. Protect, which is useful to keep Bisharp alive while its teammate moves, is a move that fits onto every VGC Pokemon; Bisharp is but one of many who benefit from it.</p>

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
<p>Dark Gem is the item of choice and allows Bisharp to maim something with Sucker Punch the first time it uses it. Sitrus Berry is also an acceptable item, as it restores a quarter of Bisharp's health when loses more than half of its HP. The EVs and nature make Bisharp hit as hard as possible while giving it maximum bulk. 4 more Speed EVs can be added to ensure that Bisharp outspeeds Hitmontop and Metagross; similarly, a Brave nature and a 0 IV in Speed can be used to go before them in Trick Room. Rage Powder users, especially the hardy Amoonguss, are great because they can draw away Fighting-type moves. Chandelure pairs fantastically with Bisharp; while both are weak to Ground-type moves, Chandelure can switch in on Fighting- and Fire-type moves, set up Trick Room against faster teams, and KO the Steel-types that trouble Bisharp. Levitating or Flying-type Pokemon such as Latios discourage the opponent from using Earthquake to KO Bisharp. Psycho Cut can be used over Protect in order to OHKO Toxicroak and do more damage to Fighting-types than Iron Head does.</p>

[Other Options]
<p>Brick Break is the best move that Bisharp has against Steel-types, but ends up feeling weak in the end. Swords Dance makes Bisharp incredibly strong, but takes up a turn. Substitute can punish double Protects, among other things. Taunt can be used to stop Trick Room and Spore as well as other status moves. Guillotine is a last resort move in situations where Bisharp will lose no matter what unless it hits. Steel Gem allows Bisharp to hit harder with Iron Head, Chople Berry allows Bisharp to survive Hitmontop's Mach Punch, and Focus Sash can do the same as the latter, but is made useless by Fake Out or Hail. Life Orb allows Bisharp to do great damage to whatever it hits at the cost of HP every turn. Inner Focus can be used to avoid the flinch from Fake Out, but will not work against users of Hitmontop. Against Hitmontop with Intimidate, Bisharp with Inner Focus will not have Defiant activated in response to Intimidate, so the Hitmontop user can reasonably conclude that Bisharp has Inner Focus. Technician Hitmontop does not need to use Fake Out against Bisharp and can just use Mach Punch for an OHKO assuming Bisharp does not hold a Chople Berry of Focus Sash.</p>

[Checks and Counters]
<p>Most Fighting-type moves OHKO Bisharp; Hitmontop, Hariyama, and Toxicroak all have no issues doing so. Super effective spread moves hurt; Zapdos's Heat Wave and Garchomp's Earthquake take their toll on Bisharp and cannot be redirected by Rage Powder. Bisharp has issues hitting Steel-types, so it needs its teammates to handle them.</p>

[Dream World]
<p>Bisharp receives Pressure from the Dream World, an ability that is more or less useless in VGC due to the general shortness of battles, making it inferior to both Defiant and Inner Focus.</p>

Focus Sash needs to be on first set imo

Weak to Fire Attacks, Ground, 4x to Fight, it needs a Sash

mention that it's actually benefits from intimidate, as it gets +1 if intimidated, some people dont know that

Also, post a TR Set, it's 70 base speed is slower than much of todays metagame

Focus Sash is not too great since very little actually OHKOes it; most things leave it with 20% or so. IMO, it's OO material. If more people want me to add it as the main slash, I'll add it.

I'll try to clarify that.

I mentioned that it's good on undedicated TR in AC. TR also does not change the set at all.

you dont have an 'ability:' thing right now. im not really sure which ability is better in 12, but i would guess defiant. set name could be called Standard i guess xD

main item should be dark gem, sash in oo, no leftovers (possibly life orb in OO). its weak to too many common attacks to really make use of leftovers. mention substitute in OO. a lot of the time, people get around bisharp's sucker punch by using supporting moves or switching. sub takes advantage of that. mention speed creep for outspeeding hitmontop so you can hit the other mon before it dies.

expand a little with team options, mention fire type pokemon to take out steels and things that can beat garchomp.

on ability: I assumed that somebody would come and vouch for inner focus (which I have never used but assumed was viable); I guess I was not correct lol
on item: I like leftovers because it allows you to do neat stuff like win fights to the death with EQ-less metagross, which is a surprisingly common occurence as a result of the newfound popularity of Zen Headbutt. Moved Dark Gem to primary.
on speed: mentioned already, but I'll elaborate a bit more specifically
on team options: added mention of Chandelure, Special Landorus, and fighting-types for steel types and Latios / Levitating stuff for Chomp.

bisharp beats EQ less metagross anyways, especially with dark gem, get it out of the set please ; _ ;

i cant find a single situation where dark gem or life orb is not superior

bisharp already beats eq/hammer arm less metagross head to head even without leftovers. if you want recovery sitrus is a much better choice considering how many attacks leave bisharp close to death but not quite there though Dark Gem or even Life Orb are going to be better choices overall.

if it has black sludge and you have sitrus or no dark gem, there's a very slight chance Croak might live before dying to SS.

anyway, thanks for the QC check muffinhead!

EDIT: on drain punch: this depends what it has drain punched in the first place. if you pair it with amoonguss, optimally, it will not be very much HP. unless it outright OHKOes something, you will always succeed with dark gem.

You need a Dreamworld section.

Unfortunately for Bisharp, it's Dreamworld ability is Pressure. Pressure isn't that great of an ability to use in VGC, which means Defiant is still the better ability (In VGC it's rare for a Pokemon to run out of PP on any move, even if choice-locked; they're more likely to be KO'd first). Other Pokemon have Pressure instead if you really need it for some odd reason.

Dream World section is completely pointless as the ability is not released, will not be released before any major tournament this season, and will get you disqualified from a VGC tournament if you are not aware of this fact. We should not mislead readers into thinking that it is.

Just a little nitpick; remove the spaces after <p> tags and before </p> tags (So it looks like <p>This</p> not <p> This </p>).

So, yeah, stamping that check.

actually it's a c&c standard to have the dreamworld abilities in the analysis, since we're not entirely sure (no matter how unlikely it may be) that they won't be released, so they're included.

just be sure to iterate that it isn't released in the paragraph

if a dreamworld ability is released, then there's no dreamworld section written and something is usually mentioned about it in OO.

Inner Focus can be used to avoid the flinch from Fake Out, but will not work against smart users of Hitmontop. , which will actually lower Bisharp's stats Against Hitmontop with Intimidate, Bisharp with Inner Focus will not have Defiant activated in response to Intimidate, so the Hitmontop user can reasonably conclude that Bisharp has Inner Focus. Technician Hitmontop does not need to use Fake Out against Bisharp and can just use Mach Punch for an OHKO assuming Bisharp does not hold a Chople Berry of Focus Sash..</p>

Only Intimidate Hitmontop can reliably work around Inner Focus Bisharp avoiding Fake Out. Technician Hitmontop has no way of telling if Bisharp has Inner Focus or Defiant without using Fake Out, but it usually won't need to as Mach Punch OHKOes. Inner Focus still has use against Technician Hitmontop if you're able to avoid Mach Punch, or if you want to use Sucker Punch before it uses Mach Punch (depending on how many EVs Hitmontop and Bisharp allocate into Speed).
