Arena: Relic Castle

Hidden away for centuries, a monster resides at the bottom of the ancient castle. And he is not happy to be disturbed.

Sand pours down from the higher levels in the gigantic throne room of the Relic Castle in Unova. But, that is not nearly so impressive as the set of columns and stone stairs leading up to the ancient throne, or the scope of the chamber. And those fail to capture the potential danger of the angry Volcarona hovering above you.

The arena revolves around both the natural layout of the room, and Volcarona intimidating non-bugs and assisting bug-types in his home.

-No natural water
-Hail, Rain Dance, and Sunny Day may not naturally be used
-Sandstorm costs three less energy to summon
-Trapping moves cost two less energy and last for an additional round
-Any rock move that requires natural rocks used by a non-bug type will result in Volcarona (neutral nature) attacking the user with Fire Spin. This shall be interpreted as Rock Throw, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb, Stone Edge, and Stealth Rock.
-Swarm is automatically active for all Pokemon who have it
-Fly and Bounce will only evade contact moves during their semi-invulnerable phase

Hello ladies and gentlemen! We are gathered here today to watch yet another tough challenge on the Bug Gym! The Poison Gym Leader is now the challenger, aiming to get his third badge!

Our Gym Leader is a man like the waves. Comes and goes. He is around ever since the begining and is active on most parts of this game, so he knows how is works. But sometimes RL calls and he goes, which means that his team may not be as well-trained as one would expect. This leaves Red to be usually very understimated, which is good, since he will surprise the challenger most of the time. BUT, a challenger that takes this seriously, treads lightly and has a trained team will give the leader a tough time.

Pay close attention to Titania the Escavalier. I will probably bite my tongue here, but I would say that being a steel-type and hitting 2/3 pokemon SE with good power goes a long way. Also, Titania's good bulk will make Senpo's flamethrowers less devastating. but not much <_>.

The challenger is one of the few Gym Leaders (together with jas and atheno, all with only 1 or less finished challenge) that didn't go berserk against fellow gym leaders. Like how it goes on the gym. Maybe he likes to take it slow? Either way, his sole challenger ended with pretty much a landslide on his favour, which is more than enough to make him dangerous.

Pay close attention to Senpo the Stratagem. Aside from Heracross and, to some extent, Titania, it doesn't seem to have any problem facing Red's bugs, hitting them x2 or x4 with his STAB Rock Attacks. Which means that we will probably see a lot of fire spins around it haha.

Team Gym Leader

Volcarona [Flare] (F)
Nature: Bold (+Def, -Att)

Type:
Bug/Fire: Bug STAB; More mobility in dense brush or forest conditions. Gain an extra guaranteed attack on multi-hit moves. Fire STAB; immune to burn, emit a low glow in dark places, takes additional damage if active open flames are exposed to a water attack. Superior senses in volcanic or brushfire areas.

Abilities:
Flame Body: (Passive) This Pokemon’s external temperature is kept at such a high level that any contact attack used on this Pokemon has a 30% chance of burning the opponent.
Swarm: (Passive) When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33% (flat), the Base Attack Power of any Bug-typed attack is increased by 2. (eg Silver Wind goes from 6 to 8, X-Scissor from 8 to 10)
Levitate: (Passive) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.

"Rest will cure any new status received on an action it is still resting." This is sort of late but Camerupt should've been cured of BPSN immediately (or at the end of A2, same effect). Shouldn't really affect too much, but if Red wants to reorder he's more than welcome to.

EDIT:

"In that case, let's take this advantage and run with it!"

OLDBAG BEAM [AncientPower + Hyper Beam] – cooldown / OLDBAG BEAM AGAIN – chill

AncientPower (energy ball-orb-sphere) and Hyper Beam (energy beam) should go together but if they don't tell me please?
