Bummer's Art Shack

Good to see the forums back up again! Here's the next strip which will be uploaded.....later today.

Short and simple for a quick update.

Do you mean someone breeding hundreds of the yanmask so they get a perfect natured/ iv'd one, while releasing hundreds into the environment?
Because that could be funny..
Check the first strip, bra.

You should have an artist badge :/
I should be, but I have yet to beat the gym so far. My cartoons are greatly overlevelled, so that allowed me to sweep through the grunts fairly quickly, but once I stepped up against the leader, I eventually met my fate at abstract realism. I suppose I could train a bit on my graffiti to gain a upperhand, but that would only delay the inevitable as I still don't hold any grasp against aquarelle paintings (why it hasn't been banned to Louvre yet is beyond me though).

You need to solve the puzzle known as The Smog to get a chance at the artist badge, they aren't given out simply based on talent.

Went away over the weekend, so I missed the Friday update! Now I have to post stuff on Monday again!

Always hated Voltorb flip. It's like Mine Sweeper, but the cardnumbers doesn't mean anything.

yamask idea is bad since dex entries are retarded

Not to mention that Awkward Zombie just did their own treatise on the matter, so now it violates Originality Clause.

Either way, while this wasn't as interesting, it was still pretty good. The Magnemite one was trite, but funny.

haha
What about one where someone realizes they are out of pokeballs and notices that the one they threw is still in tact, go to pick it up/ re-use and gets interrupted by the game.

Bummer: The cardnumbers do mean something, it's actually a pretty fun logic game! Look up voltorb flip guides on google :)

But nevermind that, your comics seriously rule! Great style and colours +hilarious

I think the implication is that those numbers are far less useful than in minesweeper. Plus, there's a hell of a lot of luck involved.

Sure, once you eliminate certain stuff...

Also, Bummer, you should do a couple literal interpretations of move names *coughHammerArm*.

I have one more strip about stuff from HG/SS, and then I'll go a bit more general again (although Black and White strips are approaching).

Cameron is a photographer in HG/SS who appears here and there and takes photographs of you and your team. Some of his more unusual locations are the Slowpoke Well and Mt Silver, which makes for the starting point of this strip. I'm afraid the punchline isn't clear enough this time around either though, as he's not someone who you'd remember clearly from the games aaaaaand not everyone encounters him either. If they're unlucky.

Currently, the suggestions to improve the strip I've gotten can be summarised with:
- Make Cameron somewhat creepier. Not rape-creepy, more of a stalking-creepy.
- Change Cameron's lines in the last panel. Something more exciting, although I don't know how to go about that as the original intention was to make it anti-climactic, but it's not impossible.
- Change the guy's line in the middle panel to a question to further emphasize how their team is far away from civilisation as we know it.

So basically, I feel less sure about it than I did at the start, so right now I'm aiming to patch things up and then just move on with the rest, but I figured I'd post it here as well since you people are more familiar with the games and their different features.

This is the second strip in a row where I've only drawn people though, so the next strips will definitly feature more pokemon. They ARE the driving factor behind this comic after all.

This was my impression at the time of posting that strip, and while I've played more VF since then and actually manages pretty well at it, yeah, luck is still an important factor. I've had squares where two 7/1 have met and I'd still get a Voltorb blowing up in my face.

Either way, the card numbers aren't useless, I was wrong.

Hm, maybe if you directed the comic directly at Mt. Silver, you could mention how only the strongest trainers on the level of the Elite 4 are allowed in, and only after careful consideration?

You'd have to change the Pokemon listed in the first panel I guess.

...Ah, photographer Cameron. Your ability to inexplicably appear anywhere whatsoever for whatever reason always vexes me.

I thought it was Dark Cave, but really, ANY cave location in Johto or Kanto makes a good place for a Cameron punchline.

...possibly point out that he's seen Cameron virtually everywhere he goes in the last panel in a thought bubble.

I say make it look more Man vs. Wild like, maybe talking about how ancients used to worship it these caves, or some notion as to how far down the cave they are.

i don't know about the others but i find it as good as always...

Remember that the plural of a Pokemon is just the Pokemon's name! One Dunsparse, ten Dunsparce, one Sableye, ten Sableye. You have the 's' added at the end of the Pokemon names incorrectly in the first panel. ;)

Good thing I checked this thread before I posted it, I forgot about this.

I didn't end up editing his appearance, but some bubbles got a facelift. Onwards to the next strip for me!
