Generation 5 specific mechanics:
  • The Fairy typing doesn't exist. Pokémon like Clefable had a different typing prior to Gen 6.
  • Steel-types resist Dark- and Ghost-type moves.
  • Sleep turns reset to 0 when you switch out.
  • Hidden Power has a max base power of 70, and the base power depends on the Pokémon's IVs.
  • Gems boost moves of the corresponding type by 1.5x instead of 1.3x.
  • Grass-types and Pokémon with Overcoat can be affected by powder moves like Stun Spore.
  • Electric-types can be paralyzed.
  • Critical Hits deal double the damage instead of 1.5x from Gen 6 onwards.
  • Nature Power calls Earthquake instead of Tri Attack.
  • Several other moves had different base power, PP, or accuracy.

Their use has low risk involved and high reward exerted. Pokemon in this tier have very few flaws that are patched up by numerous positive traits.

Based off the Viability Rankings listed above, this resource is being posted in order to provide a visual list of which Pokemon do what in the BW RU metagame. The main idea behind this is basically helping the players find Pokemon that could fit in their teams when looking for a specific role, or simply help them build more diverse teams by not always using the same Pokemon to fill the same role.
