Legal Pokedex submissions must meet the following standards
  • Pokedex Entries must have flawless grammar. Smogon has a Grammar & Prose team that will help identify mistakes.
  • Pokedex Entries cannot be longer than 32 words.
  • Pokedex Entries can only contain the following characters:
    • Letters A-Z
    • Numbers 0-9
    • Dash (-)
    • Apostrophe (')
    • Double quote (")
    • Period (.)
    • Comma (,)
    • Colon (:)
    • Semi-colon (;)
    • Space

Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Pokedex Entry Final Submissions can only be posted after a CAP Moderator posts in the thread that final submissions are open. Any final submission posted prior to the Moderator notification post, will disqualify the submitter from the poll entirely. Even if the offending post is edited later or deleted, the submitter will still be disqualified for the remainder of the thread. This ensures that all submitters have equal opportunity to post final submissions without anyone unfairly "jumping the gun".

Pokedex entries Final Submissions must posted exactly in the following format and in the following exact order:
  • The first line of the post must have the words "Final Submission" in bold on it's own line. No other text may be included before the bold heading.
  • A blank line
  • "<Pokemon Name>, the <Species Name> Pokemon", with the Pokemon name and the Species Name in bold
  • A blank line
  • The Sun Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Sun" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Moon Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Moon" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Ultra Sun Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Ultra Sun" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
  • A blank line
  • The Ultra Moon Pokedex Entry submission. Start with the letters "Ultra Moon" in bold, then a colon (:), and then the Pokedex entry.
Below the Final Submission you can post other comments, explanations, etc.

Example final submission:

Final Submission

Magearna, the Artificial Pokémon

Sun: This artificial Pokémon, constructed more than 500 years ago, can understand human speech but cannot itself speak.

Moon: Its mechanized body is merely a vessel. Its true self is its Soul-Heart, an artificial soul.

Ultra Sun: It synchronizes its consciousness with others to understand their feelings. This faculty makes it useful for taking care of people.

Ultra Moon: Built roughly 500 years ago by a scientist, the part called the Soul-Heart is the actual life-form.
Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

Name - The Future is Bright!

Description - A Pokemon that makes usage of the 'delayed-attack' moves - Future Sight and/or Doom Desire

Justification - Given we're attempting to create a Pokemon that uses one of two specific moves, this is an Actualisation concept. Future Sight and Doom Desire are incredibly unique moves, which see limited usage in spite of their high base power, and ability to have a target Pokemon struck twice in the same turn. In using CAP26, the aim is to create a Pokemon that inspires a feeling of being able to trap opponents, to establish win-win situations.

Questions To Be Answered -
One Pokemon which has been seen to fairly reliably use Future Sight is Slowking. What can we learn from Slowking about what makes a viable user of Future Sight? On the same token, what has led Jirachi to not be effective at using Doom Desire, and other Pokemon to not effectively use Future Sight?
What is the optimum usage of Future Sight/Doom Desire, both on the turn immediately after using the move, and the turn on which the move will land?
Should the user of Future Sight/Doom Desire be primarily helping itself, or other teammates. If helping itself, what is the aim? If helping teammates, then what types of teammate?
Are Z-Future Sight and Z-Doom Desire mandatory, or just useful tools?
Explantion - Doom Desire is almost one we've done before, as people from the era of Cawmodore probably remember. Whilst little has changed since then, we have seen Future Sight get another power level increase since then.

This isn't a case of using a move which we know can't be used - we can look to Slowking (Future Sight) or Dialga (Balanced Hackmons, Doom Desire) for inspiration on what makes these moves workable. At the same time, we know that they're not automatic locks in spite of their high base power, allowing us room to explore what makes these moves often fall flat.

The beauty of Future Sight and Doom Desire as concept leads is that they don't massively restrict our ability to choose a direction right from the gate - focussing on these moves for their ability to strike twice in a single turn likely produces a Pokemon that is very different from focussing on these moves for their ability to force specific Pokemon out for a teammate to switch in. Whether we create a Pokemon that breaks walls, or pivots around, or supports a very specific partner, or something else entirely, these moves make for a concept that should be both interesting to implement, and with many avenues to explore.

Moon: The true eye at the center of its body is able to see any living being's true intentions. It uses this power to provide objective judgment to those who request it.

Ultra Moon: Its all-seeing eye allows it to make unclouded judgments. However, this same objectivity can make its actions appear needlessly cruel at times.

Equilibra
, the Judgmental Pokémon

Sun: Equilibra’s eye has the capability to see up to one kilometer away from itself, and is also said to be able to judge a person with a single glance.

Moon: It is believed that Equilibra can see the past and future, and can sense emotion.

Ultra Sun: They are incapable of doing wrong. If one somehow manages to do wrong, they exile themself to the most distant reaches of the world.

Ultra Moon: If their eye is injured, Equilibra can regenerate a new one within a week or two.

WIP

Equilibra
, the Equity Pokémon

Sun: Although Equilibra stands on the very tip of its tail, it never topples over even in rough weather, which is why it is considered a symbol of justice, stability, and equality.

Moon: If one of the floating scales it carries swings one way, the other moves in the other direction for balance. This is seen as symbolic of the law being impartial.

Ultra Sun: The single eye on an Equilibra's body seems to gaze into the very mind of one who makes eye contact, allowing it to judge any crimes they may have previously committed.

Ultra Moon: It is difficult to train because it is instinctively mistrusting of those with a shady character. Only the purest of heart are able to withstand its might in battle.

Ultra Moon: Likenesses of Equilibra give many courtrooms a unique, awe-inspiring solemnity.

the Impending Pokemon

Sun: Sometimes, Equilibra takes years in deliberation whether to punish any one person or not, thus giving potential suspects an ever prevalent sense of dread until that time comes.

Moon: Equilibra's presence alone puts pressure on suspects until they make a confession, thus the anticipation of the punishment is more than sufficient to get them to confess their wrongdoings.

Ultra Sun: People are punished by Equilibra in very strict accordance to the weight of their crimes, some more severely than others. The more heinous the crime, the more severe the punishment.

Ultra Moon: Equlibra spares anyone it finds hasn't committed any crime whatsoever. However, this more merciful side is greatly overlooked by the sheer severity of the punishments it dishes out.
