After a day and a Costco Chicken Bake (for 3.99!!!) I elaborated on my bird a bit. Sorta aiming for a princess/general royalty vibe to add some dimension since both birds and princesses are stereotypically captured in cages. Ice and royalty also makes me think of The Snow Queen so ya. I think I'd have to cook this more to get the ✧ *aesthetic~ ✧* I want but I'm also sure ability will slap me sideways and call me silly so who knows if I'll make this happen.

This time I decided to go for peacocks mixed with themes from Hindu mythology!
The Fire/Steel has inspirations from Agni, who is the god of fire. The fiery feathers cover him like armor, and he also wears a lot of metals. I tried to combine the ram that he rides into the design. The Fire/Ice is Shiva, the god of destruction and transformation- and the fiery feathers splay out to act as additional arms. I thought that destruction made sense for fire/ice as well as being a super-offensive cleaner, as well as his pale blue skin and residence in the snowy Himalayas creating a link to ice. Both of these gods are different "forms" of the same being, so I thought it made sense to form switch between the two. I wanted them to have a kind of "legendary" vibe cus I figured the stats would be pretty high for this one. Feedback welcome ofc!

New design for it I decided against the flamethrower arms because that just added a bit too much and it should be kept simple you may be wondering why the comedy and tragedy mask motiff is about for the spirit designs well it is to convey the opposite nature of the typing ice and fire are generally opposites and really the mask motiff is similar to that so it basically highlights the opposite nature of the fire ice typing

Mercury Thermometer Bird that turns into a Thermometer Basilisk. When the bird gets upset, temperatures hit the extreme, igniting/freezing the liquid metal body.

- Mercury Thermometers (Liquid Metal --> Fire/Steel)
- Ferrofluid
- Drinking Bird Toys
- Base Form: Birdcage / Victorian Gown
- Pirouette Form: Basilisks / Terror Birds

Supporting Materials
More high quality renders ( made the canvas too big :P )

ignore that i posted this in the wrong thread the first time whoops

various updates and experiments on the bee design. probably gonna be struggling with the legs for a while, would've gone with the shorter simpler legs from the original concept sketch but i really liked the idea of the first form using their leg to prop up the sword/stinger as they continue actively working on it mid-battle, plus incorporating a real bee's pollen sacs as the thing they use to cool the sword gives me a convenient and potentially really cool looking way to justify the form change being an ice type. so i just kinda have to bite the bullet and draw the more detailed legs. sigh.

vaguely ant-like creature holding metal ball
the metal ball acts as a temperature regulator
one might even say a coolant..
if threatened, it can throw the ball as a weapon, however this causes its body to become unstable, constantly expelling freezing gases so its body doesn't overheat

It is based on Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec god of the sun, who is generally associated with hummingbirds. The steel type form references scissor-tailed hummingbirds and hummingbirds’ iridescent feathers. The ice type form references the fact that Huitzilopochtli is usually depicted with blue skin.

Partly based on the methane ice worm, but it's in space instead. It sleeps inside metal rich asteroids and goes into stasis, until it has bursts of hyperactivity in which it looks for another asteroid to inhabit. It propels itself with cold gas thrusters while active, hence the icy looking blasters. I plan to make a reference sheet to showcase more angles for the design as well as how it would use certain moves. I think it would leave the asteroid laying about in the field when it changes forms, hopefully the sheet will illustrate how it works a lot better!

Same metallic meteor --> icy comet idea from before, only this time its main inspiration is a valkyrie from Norse mythology, which are said to be maidens that choose the slain worthy of a place in Valhalla. Some religions depict meteors as gifts from angels, quite a good fit! I want this to have the look and vibe of a traditional Mythical Pokemon.

Signature move would see it whip up a firestorm using molten fragments of its steely hide, when it uses the move again it creates another firestorm and the fragments are pieced back over its core.

Concept for the base forme is a bronze frog that has suppressed its emotions. Inspired by Buddhist themes such as Sokushinbutsu, which is meditation till you become a mummy, combined with the fact that frogs hibernate. The orange fire inside its belly is a representation of its will, which burns bright and keeps its base impulses checked inside the two Buddha-ear-like sacs. The pose is also a reference to the pose typically associated with the "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I Alone Am The Honored One" saying.

I have two ideas for the Pirouette forme and not sure which I should go with, so I'll just make drafts of both and would love people's input on which they like more:
  1. The sacs release into snake- or tadpole-like representations of emotion, referencing the classic angel or devil on your shoulder, which significantly dwarf the frog
  2. Make both sacs blue and release a frost coating on a red hot molten frog, as a reference to frozen frogs
