New Design:

Based on a Tesla Antenna:

I was seeing Mythbusters when I got the inspiration. The Tesla-Dragon has electromagnetism from the Tesla Rings... Its tail is the ground lead.

With what colors should I paint this?

Hmm...most people are going with yellow on their electrical arcs, but I'd prefer this one to have whitish-blue/purple arcs, like in the picture. A darker, perhaps more subdued color would then be best for the body, to make the arcs stand out.

Wow, KOA took all of my advice, I feel so honored. *swoon*. LoL, Jus jokes. I'm torn between KOA's and Taicho's(sprite in my avi) right now.

Just giving resistormon some love here. I really like the concept a lot and it looks really nice. It'd be kinda cool to give it some way to make a "switch" pattern (on his tail maybe) and make the markings a circuit to power it up, though that isn't really necessary, just a thought.

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it!

I gave your idea some thought, but I think if I added a switch and made it a complete circuit (and possibly end up throwing in capacitors and a power source), it might end up looking a little too complicated for a Pokemon... plus the reason I specifically chose resistors over other electronic components is because they "resist" and that sort of goes with the defensive theme. Again though, I appreciate your input.

And for anyone who's nerdy enough to care, he's a 430 kil-ohm dragon with +/-5% (according to his bands).

Alright Finished colouring!

Let me know what you think. I'm kind of disappointed with the arms and shading but I'm honestly to tired to even care or tell right now, and I know those things are fixable.

Just a bit of supporting material showing the bugger's front view a bit more, as it might confuse some folks.

Just the head, the body really is quite self explanatory.

GK, I like yours more and more! Could you try to clean up the stripes and patterns a bit, though? They look a bit as if the yellow colour was reluctant to stick....

Also, Can you post one with your later colour-scheme? The one with the black back and bright stomache? I thought that one really accentuated the stones.

Btw, I like how your dragons have no pupils! makes the whole thing even cooler!

EDIT: Sorry, my memory failed me. I meant the darker shade of blue on the back and the bright-but-reticulated stomache.

I finally inked and colored my design.

My general idea is that this dragon conducts electricity through its bones, which are made of copper. That's why the neck spikes and claws have a metallic look. I've got some more backstory on this creature, but I'll post that later, if there's interest in the design.

I tried several color schemes, but the one above is my favorite. Here is one other color scheme that I seriously considered (click the thumbnail for the full picture).

Thanks for the feedback from everyone that helped me fix up the leg design. I hope you like the finished piece!

um how do you get the pics on if they aren't on a web site?

p.s. Doug I personally reckon it looks a bit too real for the pokemon maybe less shading?

I don't think you can do that. But the alternative isn't really difficult: just sign up for an account on any image hosting site (photobucket.com works fine for me), uplload, then copy the image URL over. The whole process shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

This is made of WIN. I have only a very slight remark: could you make the tail straight, so its pose will be reminiscent of a lighting bolt? Like I said previously, this guy looks like incarnated lighting, so it would be really cool it it had that leitmotiv.

Working working. Still needs touching up. My metal-fu is not great. Dunno if this looks any better than the previous version. Also outlined the glow so I don't break rules.

Also, Doug, yours is looking great- something really bugs me about the shading in general, though I can't put my finger on it. It's probably better for a CAP than my style, though. X); I like your color scheme, though.

@ The Bassoonist: Thanks alot for the support and advice!=D I'm definitely going to clean up the stripes, and I'm actually going to try out a couple different colour schemes (The one you suggested as well obv.) and I'm going to clean up some minor body problems I noticed. *sigh* I still hate shading though.

@ TheMutant: Looks freaking awesome! The shading gave it waaaay more appeal for me and the outlined glow works very well. Your design was top-notch from the beginning but this definitely makes it way better for me.

i have a question and its just a side note, is this going to be a quadruped or a biped, because it looks like it could be both.
